    IDK, I think part of the fun of a turbo car is the whooshy turbo noises...especially once you start upgrading for performance. Aside from the insane whistle, I think it sounds good. I love the air whoosh noises. Anyone who might think your car is broken because of it, doesn't know anything about turbo cars anyway.

      Is horrible, I decided to test on mine by driving it without the stock Airbox, and could not stand it.
      I like to hear the engine, not some vacuum cleaner hair dryer combo ultra expensive intake.
      I ended modifying the stock Airbox, opened a square hole on the bottom section and drill half inch holes to help it breathe better. I still get a little of the diverter and air noise, but sounds mean low tone noise, no whistle at all.
      Like he said, nothing against IE, the build quality is outstanding.

    I'm not sure if someone else has said this already, but hearing that blow off in between gears is inefficient, that's what a diverter valve is for. It saves all the would be wasted air and blows it back into the intake so you don't lose boost in between gears. I'm not trying to ACKSHUALLY here or anything, just trying to inform.

    Louder exhaust will fix that. I bought mine with downpipe and aftermarket exhaust i installed an IE intake couldn't really hear it until i put the stock exhaust back on then it was very noticeable. Im going back to noisier exhaust.

    I definitely recommend the GFB DV+, it has fixed the issue for me and sounds great. If you don't like the airy sound that intake is making then (due to being out in the open) I'd recommend a close-box intake like the APR one, which they actually just made a cheaper non-carbon fiber version of.

    Dude, drive in manual mode and slightly let off the throttle between shifts..
    I have a beetle turbo 2.0tsi with a cts ko4 fbo, running a turbosmart bov... and sounds great between shifts..
    Also, that high pitch noise is your diaphragm on your d.V it's broken...
    It doesn't sound like that if your d.V is not broken... Your diverter valve is literally leaking air... Because
    The diafram most likely has a hole in it or a rip...
    And a dsg is Essentially a manual transmission.It's just electronically controlled... With
    Two separate clutch plates...,

  • @glubibobi
    @glubibobi Před 3 lety +4

    2 solutions to your problem. Get the revision D diverter valve from Pierburg. It’s $60 and will fix the ringing issue that is common with the old diaphragm style DVs. Then, once you tune the car, the intake noise between shifts will be be a lot more aggressive and sounds pretty cool in my opinion so if you haven’t sold it yet, I’d hold on to the intake until you do those things and see if you change your mind.

I have the oem piston type DV 06H 145 710C and changed it to 06H 145 710J, the latest version, and it still has the whine. So no it’s not the DV. Maybe it’s the sound of the turbo?
