I DID THIS EXCEPT I RAN HOSES FROM MY EXHAUST TIPS INTO MY SUNROOF, I CAN HEAR THE EXHAUST REALLY GOOD NOW BUT IT MAKES ME FEEL FUNNY WHEN I AM DRIVING
I love the oem honeycomb mats 👍🏼👍🏼
I think this was a cold air intake experiment that became an in cabin turbo speaker. I could not live with that steering wheel cover stiching but car is very nice.
brilliant!
Needs that Woosh!
this is pure genius
I'm about to try this. Going to use some barb fitting bulkheads and actual automotive vacuum line - should look clean and almost oem
Hell yeah man I would love to see it when its done
@@Matt_Pie I'll be posting about it on the vwag discord :) .gg/Vce7Mta
Sweet man ill check it out!
this is genius idea!
That noise should just be your ac blower motor, usually a simple install
Its the sound when you take tube and spin around like a chopper and it makes that sound
All turbo car should come like this from factory👍👍👍👍
as for the fan motor i had that same thing happen to my mk6 gti and it was just something stuck in the fan motor ... it’s not going bad dw
What rear spoiler is that? Looks dope.
That’s neat, so a couple of thoughts… if you wrap that plastic tube in some kind of sound deadening material it should eliminate the “tinny” sound and deepen it a bit. Also maybe try to find a tube that’s smooth internally as I can’t imagine all those edges are doing you any favors.
Also, amusingly, your engine is now drawing air from the interior of your car. lol
Yep lmfao
So. Does this mean the air conditioning could possibly make the car faster for a change due to colder air 😎😂😂😂
@@Aristocracyauto lol
sounds like my fridge ice maker everytime it makes solid water
I know what I'm doing to my 2.0t passat wagon😳
Amazing Chanel sharing Vidio great otomotif..
It almost sounds like your funnel contraption is rubbing on your HVAC blower fan.
I thought your supposed to put a piece of tint on the end of the tube so it’s not sucking in air from in the car
The new mk7.5 GLIs Turbo blow off sounds so loud from factory you dont have to do anything to it
We have the same exact car and I have just one question. So in my gti whenever I put on Bluetooth or aux the screen never shows what I’m listening too or allows me to skip and pause the song. How do I fix this??
This video feels like it's recorded by Flynn from Breaking Bad but in an alternate reality where his legs work.
Yeah I guess the cabin fan motors going bad are also a common thing that goes bad for the mk6 versions but not in every case. A mouse definitely wouldn’t help with that situation 😂
Imagining a mouse in there while its spinning making that sound ouch haha😂
Nice have an mk7 had straight pipes cts high flow DP was stupid loud used a glass resonator to shut it up.
Knarly
What is ur oil temperature on mid-screen ?
Sounds great! Is the smoke form other cars entering the cabin through the hole?
No, never experienced that 😂 you have direct connections from the outside of the car to the inside so if that was an issue it would already happen
“Unwanted particles” 😆
I hear my turbo in my cabin pretty loud without that I only have an oem dv with spacer and ko4 with a evolution Motorsports intake
Ko4 will do it
What size are ur wheels and tires?
StuSTUSTUSTU!!!
Where did you get you catless dp? I've looked everywhere and can only find catted ones.
from ARM, I have a CBFA
Just get one from Amazon and re weld it, it’s a quarter the price
42DD in Maryland - google them - custom make anything you want, but they also sell catless dp's for the mk6.
eBay mines fuckin mint
Sounds like guns in cod
where did you get your intake system from? looking for one for my passat 😩
USP motorsports
What is that ringing sound when accelerating? I have a mk6 gti as well and my car makes a whistling/ringing sound from about 3k-4k rpm even after replacing my broken diverter valve
if u have aftermarket intake its normal
@Tommy Jones you’re going to have to get a GFB DV+ or a Turbosmart Plumbback to fix that noise
I have the same AC issue, a pen fell in and damaged the blower motor. I replaced the blower motor and removed the pen, the sound had reduced. However, it is still disturbing, does anyone know what I can do?
Something else is broken.
is it possibly that my diverter valve is a reason that i’m burning oil? i have the gfb + diverter valve with the ecs spacer. ever since i got that and my cobb accessport i’ve been burning oil bad
yep, definitely leeking boost, which leads to a number or problems, lose the spacer
@@r6memesandclips164 is it normal that when disconnecting diverter valve plug oil comes out of the plug?
Am getting a low oil pressure light, but car runs fine, engine has oil, no metal in the oil, new oil pump...
Car does not smoke oil, no knocking sound.
Bro what did u do the the front bumber did u just get a bigger intercooler and remove the grill ?
Yessir
That's the sound of ac blower...
My cabin fan? a mouse got in it and built a nest in my cabin fan giving it a horrible noise
pretty late to this video, but wouldn’t this steal air from the motor? when you get on the gas wouldn’t it start blowing a bunch of air into the cabin?
the cabin line isnt sucking so the engine is still getting all the air on acceleration (same way that you arent loosing airflow with an open airbox) however on deceleration some air will go into the cabin. to summarise: all air goes to motor on accel, some air goes into the cabin on decel.
Vw quit putting sound pipes on the car and you put one back on lol sounds great tho
Very crude mod...I like it
😂😂😂
If you have a golf r or gti pirelli or gti that is kayo 4 swaped you can just unplug the DV and install an intake and your car will dose (flutter) hard sounds crazy
yea till the thing blows up
It probably wont blow up
Just throw a filter on it😂
Hey have you been having problems with your GTI over the years?
Had mine for a year no issues but i am up to date on service
@@Matt_Pie thanks for replying back! Was thinking of getting an MK6 GTI
@@LanceDaBootyEater cool, lemme know if u have any questions ill be making a video soon on reliability things you can do to this car
@@Matt_Pie am getting the dreaded air bag light.
Your dv is bad btw. That loud whining is the sound of air passing through the internal diaphragm. Same sound as mine when it went bad. Go with the GFB dv +
I used to have that sound I already replaced the dv this new sound is a resonation frequency caused by the tube
who cares ab the looks. i’m sure smiles per mile makes it well worth it
True
There's a second plug that you take out to make it much louder btw
what plug
@@benlizak50 the one that goes to the engine vacuum
I know you replaced your DV but in the end of the video u can here your DV making the high pitch sound, that's the sound mine made when it was going bad.
Thats a resonance frequency caused by the tube that runs from the intake to the cabin not my dv
@@Matt_Pie ok I was thinking that might be the case but wasn't sure. I put a Go Fast Bits diverter valve plus on mine, it's like having a BOV but the reliability of a DV. It's a loud whoosh noise u normally don't get with the regular GFB DV, so worth it.
My 2013 gti is making the same whine noise around 5,000-5,500 rpm what is it and how can I fix it
Yeah the only reason I didnt wanna go with one of those is the performance loss and tuning issues in between shifts
@@homesickisalive3772 could just be the way your intake sounds or it could be a boost leak or a dv leak
Stutututuut
Me sitting here with a manual sad😂
Only works for auto?
No idk what this dude talkin bout
@@Matt_Pie no just took a look at my own, the pass through you used is for something to do with the clutch. It’ll need to go somewhere else. Any ideas?
@@jgolf174 there's the wiring harness that goes through the firewall
Exhaust setup ?
I have a whole video on it
Need to be clean is dirty inside the blower
Haha nice mod.
sounds like you have a boost leak
Yeah that sound is a resonance frequency created in the sound tube that runs from the intake.
@@Matt_Pie did you ever figure out how to get rid of that sound?
u bought an automatic?
Yes
Fuck bro an automatique
What is that little red filter 😅
Is tat cath can
No thats the secondary air filter because this car is pzev
What does psev mean and how do u know u have one
@@motodoe4340 you would know if you had it
Do you have paddle shifters?
yes
That's about goofy
No no no, no... no. Just no.
I thought about it some more, but... no. Brother, this ain't the way.
Well im not gonna spend thousands on a huge turbo and blow my car up with it just to hear the turbo thats really thw only other way
why.,.................................
Lol that's an insane turbo sound? Really?
For a stock turbo yes
You must be in Ohio lol
That's completely ridiculous buddy. You might as well wire a megaphone and mic to the turbo so the whole city can hear you. Maybe you can buy your turbo a cell phone so it can call you every time it releases air. You should call NASA and see if they can hear that crap from space. I heard that if you sick your whole head in the turbo it sounds even better.
Thanks for the comment really inspiring 👍
@Matt Pierce - Mk6Matt wasn't meant to be inspiring. Some things are just bad ideas and bad ideas usually receive negative feedback. Negative feedback is good for the person with the bad idea as it opens up insight for a better idea. P.s. I think I just heard you drive by. 😘
@@ibeecarefree I mean if you wanna break it down I can, overall this decision could be viewed in a positive light. I enjoyed the outcome of the decision whilst driving the vehicle, and not only that the video actually performed shockingly well. My vehicle also suffered no side effects. Objectively this was a good idea for me. I also think you may need some clarification on this response judging by your... previous comments.. My response serves as proof to your claim that this was a "bad idea" (which you didn't even provide a reason for beyond random insults) If you have a reason that's actually based on something of substance I would genuinely like to hear it, who knows it could actually be useful information. But it's probably something I have already heard and either thought about or already accounted for. Thanks for commenting.
@Matt Pierce - Mk6Matt Sure, I'll break it down with you. Firstly, I find it strange that you spent plenty of money on other modifications like the intake and exhaust, but choose not to simply purchase a cheap atmospheric blow off valve that would create FAR more sound without creating any oil leaks or modifying your intake. Second, if you remove the shielding from your cone filter, it would further your objective and is also free. Third and most importantly, your intake is now sucking air from your cabin. This subjugates your turbo to the temps that are inside your car. So if your heater is on, you're now sucking hot air into the turbo. Furthermore, the funnel placement is right next to the heater output. This will contribute to turbo lag and will introduce far more debris into your intake system. Also, by connecting the tube to the intake system, you're only amplifying the sucking sound created by the air resistance of the cone filter. This is far different than capturing and diverting the highly compressed discharged air produced by the turbo. Notice the location of your stock diverter valve vs your tube.
The performance of the video has no concern or relevance to this convo so ill refrain from commenting on that.
Also, I'd advise that you don't take comments too personally or let them discourage you in any way. It's just CZcams. Hope this helps.
@@ibeecarefree I used to have a diverter valve spacer which I believe is what you speak of when you refer to "a cheap atmospheric blow off valve" A real blow off valve would only make actual sense for a Mk6 GTI if you perform a turbo swap. I actually used to have a diverter valve spacer, however the sound does not sound as you would expect, and it actually can cause issues with your vehicle tune, as well as leak oil. Both of my previous tuners recommended against the diverter valve spacer. As for the shielding, I adapted that intake from a MK7 GTI, and the shielding is supposed to help with heat soak, if I had more money to purchase an intake, I would have purchased a different one. The heat from the cabin actually isn't as big of an issue as you might think, after lots of monitoring I discovered that the regular "heatsoak" of the vehicle is enough to entirely override intake air temperatures above what the cabin temperature would be. Think about this as "being inside of the engine bay" v.s. "being inside the cabin of your vehicle" which one would be warmer? As for debris, I was worried about this so I actually developed a filtration system to prevent debris from entering the intake box. This isn't personal for me, I just have the time to entertain myself with this conversation
Lolz
Kinda sounds crappy 🙂
yeah it sounds fake but not at the same time pretty strange
this is embarrasing
For who? You? I stand by this, it was fun!
personally really dont like the sounds your car makes
how did u get the flutter
