@@bitbotrecordsthank you!
I own the Dark Edition Grandmother and Matriarch, and I gotta say they are both so capable and for my needs they are invaluable.
Lucky you! Those Dark editions are too sick. Thanks for watching!
I also have both in dark, not only they look terrific compared to the silly colorful ones, but the fact they they are limited, we own a priceless piece of Moog history, the sound of the stereo delay of the Matriarch is unbelievable!
Wow. I got a dark edition Matriarch a couple years ago and I agree with everything you say. It just sounds amazing, it’s a huge sweet spot synth, the filters and that incredible analog stereo delay alone makes it worth the price. The paraphony and patching are just the icing on the cake. If the new poly sounds as good as this it’ll be amazing.
The arpeggiator has a cool feature too. If you engage hold, you can keep adding notes to the arp as long as you hold a key down as you play more notes. You can even add the same note multiple times, so it’s like an on-the-fly sequencer. After releasing all keys, the next key you hit will clear the arp and you can start over.
Glad you enjoyed! Those dark editions look so sick. And that's a great tip for the arp, I didn't know that!
Well hot damn!!!!! You made that synth sing. Well played! I am shocked they have a new 8 voice on the way.
Thank you brother! Yea same here, depending on how they price it they could have a total hit on their hands. If its Moog One price though... sad times.
Thanks for the great content. Having just unboxed the M this weekend, I hugely enjoyed and benefitted from this video.👏🏻👋🏼
Glad it was helpful! Enjoy your new synth and stay tuned for more synth videos on my channel weekly :)
everything about this video is exactly what i want. well composed thoughts, integrations with sounds from the instrument itself. splendid.
Thank you! If you like this kind of video, check out my Synths and Sound Design Playlist, I make new demos almost every week :)
Your track is really amazing ! What a capable synth (and music composer) ! A joy to listen to ! My unit will never leave my studio :)
Thank you so much for the kind words 😊
I appreciate so many of your choices.
Yes I’m watching it now thanks for responding
Your so great
No problem 😊
Sounds absolutely amazing
Thank you for watching!
Love the intro song! Nice bass playing
Thank you Sean!
Great Video about the Matriarch! I am going to enjoy watching this particular video a lot.
Glad to hear it! More synth videos weekly on my channel :)
Thanx for sharing, subbed!
Awesome, thank you!
Great video!!
I'm happy to hear you've found your love with the Matriarch... I bought a Moog Source in the mid 90's and still use it regularly for it's insane bass and growl. The violent oscillations are it's secret weapon. I added a Moog Subsequent37 to my collection and couldn't be more pleased with it's accessibility and sound.
Love that combo! I have a Sub 37 Tribute as well, and I agree, they are such different beasts. The Sub 37/ Subsesquent is still my fave Moog overall though.
That's a great piece of gear, I love all the analog knobs.
Me too!
To get the best paraphonic chords you have to have all the oscillator mixer volume no more than 8-9 oclock to get a sweet sound!
Yes exactly! I find it a bit of a limitation cause I just LOVE how the synth growls in mono or duo mode when overdriven, but I've learned to love it!
Outstanding!
Thanks!
Great video! waiting for the new Moog Matriarch with polyphony and presets. Looks like InMusic rules. Time will tell...
Miles: fantastic jam, so rich and moody🙏🏼 sincere
Thank you so much!
funny thing is I sold my Matriarch at a loss two years ago to contribute to buying a Prophet 10, and I just bought a new Matriarch at full price last night. We’re both part of the same club. Can’t beat that sound, stoked to add it to my library again.
Yep, haha, same club indeed! That sounds like a great combo. Prophet 10 is still my most GAS inducing synth even though I can’t justify one right now
@@MilesAwayOfficial Prophet is amazing but so is the Matriarch, something about the sounds on these Moog semimods is unbeatable. Stoked for the day when you get a Prophet too, it’ll be worth the wait!
Really good Moogy video. Thanks. Subscribed! 🙂
Thank you and welcome!
My favorite synth, a creative powerhouse. Loved the final patch idea.
Thanks so much! I am posting synth videos weekly all year so stick around my channel :)
I love mine too!
Saw a clip just yesterday where Thom Yorke was in the studio playing bass in a "The Smile" band rehearsal and there was a "Marshmallow Peep" Matriarch like yours right next to him. Thanks for the video! The furry Moog mixer circuit is where the magic lays, imho.
Cool story! Thom is a legend. I agree, the Moog mixer distortion is a thing of beauty!
Looks like a lot of fun - will consider it 🙌
Awesome! I've got lots of other synth videos if you want some other options!
useful, thank you
Thanks!
That sounded amazing! I was debating selling mine, but this video changed my mind! Thank you!
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching :)
Thanks for the video. Own 2 Dark Matriarchs. I use a Moogerfooger Clusterflux between the mixer and the filters. Please try this, it's amazing.
Badass set up! I would kill for a Moogerfooger, those are insane. That sounds like a really unique signal flow!
I totally agree with your thoughts on the delay. It really is part of the whole instrument for the Matriarch. While I don’t think the Matrixbrute effects are as beautiful as what’s on offer with the Matriarch, I agree that I prefer one or two well thought out effects that can become part of the character of the synth. And as you mentioned earlier, it really is all about that character!
100% agreed! Thanks for watching man!
dude, what an incredible track !
Thank so much!
The Matriarch is definitely my favorite Moog in my collection. I feel like I could just sit and mess with it and the DFAM alone and create the basis for tons of tracks. Definitely the most fun I can have with the least gear is in those two pieces and they absolutely prevent me from getting lost in preset surfing. It definitely has a sound that is more core to my sensibilities out of all my synths and plugins.
Great comment! Yea it really feels like such a distinct instrument that begs you to explore. So cool. DFAM is great too, I did a video back when I owned one, I only sold it cause no midi.
I totally agree with you on an effect being a part of the synth, an essential part. I feel the same way about the delays on the Evolver.
You can’t do the same things with a separate delay pedal.
I've never tried the Evolver series! Jameson's video was so good on the Poly, I'd love to try one eventually.
It's been a month that I'm thinking to sell mine, and I was afraid to change my mind right after selling it, this video helped my decision to keep it. it's a unique instrument indeed
Glad I could help! Hope you reconnect with yours 😊
Great re-review! Totally agree about the subpar digital effects in some synths. I love my take 5, but the effects are very underwhelming. The delays are great, but the chorus and reverb (the most important two for me!) have very little character. Like you suggest, I would have settled for a synth with fewer effects, but higher quality ones!
Thank you! Yep lol - Sequential are the biggest offenders of this (and they are my fave synth company). They make these glorious analog synths, then the DSP effects like their reverbs sound worse than many free plugins. Imagine a new Prophet with a built in BBD delay like this!
Thats a dope pager you are talking into.
lol!
I agree on the digital effects. I'd rather have an effect that is part of the synths character. it is also wierd to me that we worry so much about analog sound then throw digital effect on the end of signal chain
Totally agreed! I think it was Benn Jordan that said, i"f you are spending $2-4k on a boutique analog synth, you probably have a quality reverb VST or pedal already". I hope more manufacturers leave the DSP effects off, and do characterful analog ones instead.
Amen! 😎👌🏼
I bought the Matriarch shortly after it was released. Since then this synth stole my heart. It is a sonic playground and a serious instrument. I play live with the Matriarch and a Hydrasynth and they complement each other beautifully. As for presets, I didn't miss 'em. However, this synth is not for everybody and it has its quirks (e.g. important patch points hidden on the back panel). I hope InMusic keeps making and support it.
Great comment ! Its so true, I think the synth is divisive cause it really isn't for everyone with its quirks. But its got so much vibe and character I think its a modern classic. Cheers for watching!
Funnest synth I own :)
i just ordered one
Fantastic! Enjoy it 😊 stay tuned to my channel for new synth videos weekly
agreed on your comments about this synth wanting to be front and center with the analog delay RIPPING. first music video on my page starts right out with Heavy Matriarch Soundscapes. just letting the stereo delay and stereo filter do their thing
Amazing! Yea that’s exactly my thoughts too. Thanks for watching !
Nice one Miles. Tempted by a Matriarch. I love the Summit for Techno, the UDO Super 6 for pads (which are the best I've heard), Elektron boxes 'cos they are ace for performance, but for a mono I do like Moog. The only downside is the hidden config parameters, which drove me nuts on the Sirin and there's even more on the Matriarch.
The hidden global features do suck but someone made a free desktop editor that works like a charm! Just plug in via usb to your computer. Matriarch and Summit is a wicked combo, I had that for ages. I’d love to get a super 6 in the studio one day! Beautiful looking
Also shit nowadays just needs some sort of patch memory. It's all very well sounding sweet until you can't recall your awesome settings for a particular track within 5 minutes. Sometimes people who are paying you don't get that. For such a beautiful sounding synth we need to bring back them beautiful sounds. I definitely do because I want them all to be stored in the dark vault of joy! I want to recall them whenever I like and I don't want them to exist only for a moment where they are abused for a disgusting dance track!
love the paraphonic jam! lovely patch at 5:45! could you please share the patch settings
Thanks! It’s really simple actually, just follow the patching tip 1 delay modulation section of this video. Then for the oscillators, have 3 of them at ‘16, and the last one an octave up at ‘8 to create occasional octave jumps. Filter should slowly open with envelope. Hope that helps!
Use the series filter mode for leads. Totally exquisite sound when used with the delay.
Great tip!! Thanks for watching:)
I use series mode the most.
I sure miss mine, probably the synth I miss most alongside the Pro 3 that I've sold. 4 voice paraphonic moog voices is one of my favorite sounds. I just couldn't work with limited midi capabilities in my workflow.
Pro 3 looks so sick. It's been on my list for years. I loved the workflow of the Pro 2 but something didn't do it for me tone wise, and the Pro 3 seems like it sounds better.
Not only is The Matriarch an incredible synth, but it doubles as a tone box by patching other synths into the VCFs or VCAs and taking advantage of the filter and delay. Add on a stereo spring verb and it’s analog heaven
Now that’s what I’m talking about! Need to dive more into that. I love using the delay for my guitar, but haven’t used the rest of it with other synths much
Hey now you need the Moog Mirror 8 voice which claims to use the Matriarch sound, it was seen on the Super Bowl halftime show. I think the Matriarch represent Moog's best sound so I'll wait and see if the Moog Mirror gives us "that" sound with 8 voices. Hopefully it'l have some memory patch locations to recall patches.
That looks absolutely incredible! Can't wait to hear the announcement. Between that and the rumored new Arturia synth this should be a good year!
I subscribed
Ok I'm keeping mine ;)
Glad I could help!!
Been considering buying this again myself, but I’m on a strict no buy until December. Interested to see what’s announced this year! Of all the synths I’ve sold, the Matriarch is the only one I miss.
It's really a special one eh! But yea, can't wait to see what Moog announces
Such a gorgeous sounding synth. It’s also a beast of capability. The layout is also top notch (except some other patch points being on the back). I would never sell it. I think the ARP 2600 is a good companion.
Agreed! In a perfect world I would have kept both this and the 2600M, but one had to go to pay bills, and for me, they are really similar: large and in charge with lots of character. And the Matriarch just speaks more to me!
Love my matriarch Very unique like you say
Agreed! Congrats on getting one!
He's got the same piano as me!
If I had a Matriarch I’d be taking it in a “Keith Emerson” meets “Eat Static” kind of direction. Thanks for the content.
Keith Emerson is a legend! Thanks for watching
The Moog Matriarch is awesome... the Moog Mirror will sell a lot if it sounds anything like this...
The four oscillator Matriarch will always hold its own though.
Completely agreed! What do you think the Mirror will be? My guess is a 2 osc 8 voice with digital effects
@@MilesAwayOfficial yeah not sure... but 2osc 8 voice would be cool.. probably they could put it in 4 voice mode and have the 4 osc stacked as well... from what I understand the mirror comes from the fact it has 2 identical sections...
I am still scratching the surface on my Matriarch after 2 years... I sometimes patch it at random to my ARP2600 (especially audio in) and Pro3 and make the most bonkers of sounds...
that sounds so cool! And yea patching between synths is great fun. I need to patch my Malevolent to my Matriarch, see what kind of sounds I can get@@neilloughran4437
I bought a dark Matriarch a few years ago. Sold it later and then rebought it exactly the same. It’s a forever synth. I should never have sold it.
Same exact realization I had!
I wish Moog was coming out with a Grandfather that basically combines the Grandmother and Matriarch.
- 4 oscillators
- the two Matricarch utility sections
- the Matriarch’s mixer section
- the delay and the reverb effects
- the two Matriarch envelopes
It isn’t going to happen but this would be so much better than what their new synth appears to be
That would be really cool but it would cannibalize the Matriarch a bit so I don’t think they’d do it unfortunately. I’d love to see an analog effects box in this color scheme, like the “Moog Auntie” 😂 and have it be spring reverb, analog delay, filter, distortion, and bbd chorus.
Congrats on the purchase! Last year I sold and bought the new one after a month :) I’m more into EDM, though beware you gonna feel the need to sell it again :)
Appreciate the heads up 😂 what did you get instead after selling?
@@MilesAwayOfficial I bought a new Matriarch for the second time, same as you did :)
aha glad I am not alone, enjoy it my friend! 🤣@@yesitsrave
For effects like Analog delay, Nice reverbs and my all time favourite effect is Tape Echo, an amazing beautiful effect with so much character, colour, movement with so many possibilities for me is the most creative effect I use. Agreed digital built in synth FX can and usually sound pretty poor.
I love music production, electronic music synths, analog etc, but I am primarily a guitarist, so using guitar fx, analog delay, tape echo etc, pedals work great on synths, so many different brands and types of guitar fx pedals out there, some great ones at very low prices to more expensive that do more, it’s an unbelievable world for FX at great prices. People may think you can’t or shouldn’t use guitar fx on a synth, which is so untrue, they work exactly the same and sound so much better than synth digital built in FX, and are a damn sight cheaper. It’s manufacturers and brands that market their gear saying it’s a guitar effect or bass guitar effect, to make more sales and money and so many people fall for it, a guitar effect pedal will work just as well if put on a guitar, bass guitar, vocal, synth, drums etc.
good video and obviously the matriarch sounds lovely and would be so beneficial to my gear studio collection and would add so much to anybody creative music making. Thanks for your insight into the matriarch and have fun creating with it. Cheers all the best Steve, Manchester, England.
Great comment and thanks for watching! I agree! My bucket list would be to own a real tape echo, such a vibey effect. For now the LVX and El Capistan do a great job emulating!
@@MilesAwayOfficial cheers enjoyed video story and demo. Agreed the LVX and El Capistan by Strymon are fantastic and versatile Tape Echo effects. Keep up the great content. Thanks Steve (Manchester, England)
Thanks Steve! @@thedeadxtras9927
Miles I have a question. I have the Grandmother and love it, but I’m considering the Matriarch or the Prophet 6 desktop. Is it possible to get close to the cinematic pad sound you get at 18:13 with the P6? Need your opinion on if you had to pick one over the other which you would go with?
Tough question. You aren't gonna really get that exact sound, because the P6 can't work duophonically, and also the Matriarch analog delay sounds just way better than the P6 delay. But you can get pretty similar nice pad sounds with the P6 distortion going into a good delay pedal. At the end of the day, P6 is way more versatile and all around useful, but the Matriarch sounds much more distinct and unique!
@@MilesAwayOfficial I appreciate that and it pretty much confirms what I suspected. My Matriarch will arrive on Monday and I was having second thoughts after watching this. However, I already have a ton of VST polysynths from NI like Massive, Super 6, Absynth, etc. So I think that having the unique character of the Matriarch will be a great addition. Thanks for your help!
I just repurchased a digitakt, I have bought a blofeld 3 times. I just shouldn't sell gear. I always want it back once its gone
Haha, yep it’s a danger of the synth world for sure. I typically follow a rule where if I am thinking of selling something, I force myself to sit down with it and really deep dive for a couple days. If I still don’t like it, it’s gone.
Moog Must Survive 💯 Incredible Instrument 👌 since 1980's I remember these and what an impact they had and still do ❤ that delay 😃 🤩 Absolutely Unique and Special 👌 Brilliant and Beautiful demo as Always 😍 🙌
Yes indeed! Thanks for watching man!
I am in the market for a Matriarch and I've just watched yours back to back with Jorb's, and I have to say you really do know how to get the best out of a synth (one of your 3rd wave videos comes to mind here too). Thanks for the tips re electronic dance music (which is my main focus), and just to offer an alternative view, I can see this very much working in a dance track, just not a mainstream one. I'm thinking of deep melodic house with quite sparse arrangements where the Matriarch takes centre stage on the melodic parts.
Oh the GAS never stops does it :)
One last thing, I really like long form videos on synths... for instance sound design, the nooks and crannies a particular synth can take you down and so on, so thank you for this one Miles, and I'm personally up for you doing more of these types of videos.
Thanks for the great feedback and for taking the time to mention the videos you like! Did you see my latest one on the Motorsynth? Another deep dive long form on a cool non-traditional synth.
@@MilesAwayOfficial Yes thanks, your video on that totally bonkers synth is on my watchlist 👍
This will be an interesting video to watch. I hated mine… the flimsy toy store power chord and plasticky feel along with a so/so keybed was too much for me to bear… My chips are on the Moog One - built like a tank and infinite sound shaping capabilities. Cheers, from sunny Thailand 🇹🇭
sold mine too. i am a presets person and done with mono synths. hopefully, the new Moog will sound good. might go with that.
If I could afford a Moog One I'd get one, looks absolutely incredible but I'd have to sell my OB and 3rd Wave for it and I couldn't do that :D but jealous you have one, I wanna find a local one to borrow one day to make a patch bank
Fair! If the new Moog is a polysynth with patches and lots of character it should sell like hotcakes@@christopherpederson1021
that demo song makes me want to buy it so bad
Thank you!! Did you end up getting one?
All of you musical influence
Not yet, however, the Jupiter X (not analog, but definitely fun!) is one I’ve considered time and again.
I’d love to dive into the Jupiter X! I’ve only played one briefly and it was so cool.
@@MilesAwayOfficial yea. Certainly one I’ve re-considered. I purchased it trying to learn beginner synthesis and it didn’t pan out too well, so I hocked it. Looking back, while not much can beat knob per function (if anything) it was still really nice and sounded good. Having the classic rompler sounds aboard are good to have in general, but especially with the i-Arpeggio functionality. Anyhow, thanks for the video! Looking forward to that Moog Mirror myself. Hopefully it isn’t too pricey.
Man, if you played Final Fantasy VII, the song at the beginning reminds me to "Anxious Heart" from that game ❤
I need to check out the FF games, heard great things, but Persona is the only Japanese game I have played so far !
@@MilesAwayOfficial Persona saga is amazing too 👌
That's why you use zzounds bro. 45 days to test it out
That’s the only synth I’m never letting go. It was love of first sight, I was hugely influenced by Lisa Bella Donna, and even posted a video reproducing the exact patch and chords that made me buy it. Gives me goosebumps just remembering about it (never had that feeling with any other gear)
That's awesome! Great story! And I agree Lisa is an absolute legend of Moog instruments:)
Does "time 1" only modulate the one delay time (as opposed to both since it's stereo)?
Taken at face value, it should. But other similar patch points on the matriarch, notably filter cutoff 1, if you only patch something into it, it will actually affect BOTH 1 and 2. Which I actually like (otherwise you'd need double cables every time you wanted a simple, non-stereo specific modification).
Anyways, I'd be surprised if time 1 on the delay worked differently.
EDIT: ok, I went and looked it up in the manual, and it looks like it does behave differently. I guess it's just one of those "gotchas" you have to know.
So:
- filter cutoff 1 alone will affect both 1 and 2.
- filter cutoff 2 alone will just affect 2.
but
- delay time 1 just affects 1.
Yep exactly! That's why its my fave sneaky patch tip. The sound of one delay line being modulated while the other is static creates this super interesting chorus-y style analog modulation I haven't been able to get elsewhere (besides the Walrus Meraki)!
I bought an Arturia MiniFreak, gave it to a fellow musician and promptly bought another one since I missed it.
Super generous of you! I need to try the Minifreak it looks amazing
You know what, i did the same thing with the Microkorg
Love that haha, Microkorg is classic!
So I'm confused about the linear FM patch point above the oscillators, what exactly goes into it?
Try patching one of the other oscillator WAVE OUT into an attenuator, then that attenuated signal into the linear FM in of a different oscillator that is muted. Play a held note, then adjust the pitch of the muted oscillator (called the modulator) and listen how it affects the timbre of the oscillator you are hearing (called the carrier). You just created a 2 operator FM synth!
@@MilesAwayOfficial thanks!
So if I understand correctly, the only input that goes in the Lin FM patch point is wave out?
Been really enjoying these vids. Glad you got your matriarch back.
The patchable stereo delay is one of the craziest things encountered
yep you got it! and thank you! Check out my Motorsynth video I just posted, it's another super unique paraphonic synth. Missing that beautiful Moog delay though!@@greenvelvet
Great video, awesome tips, subb'd
Thank you!
this might have pushed me over the line for finally get a matriarch! is there a reason why you rebought this new instead of used?
Glad to hear it! Bought new due to tax purposes (I use it for my business, therefore it’s a write off)
gotta get me a business! Love the videos.@@MilesAwayOfficial
thank you! new synth videos coming weekly stay tuned :)@@jamesgreene6077
I owned the grandma but didn’t vibe with it but matriarch hits those sweet spots and worth it with 4 tones you can do 7 chords
Absolutely! Pure bliss playing those smooth moogy 7ths :)
Can you make sounds like this on 3rd wave groove?
For the basic Moog sounds yes, but for the Matriarch signature stuff with the analog delay and complex paraphonic patches, no! That’s why it’s so unique. Nothing else sounds like it.
I would never sell mine. It is absolute beast and in combo with my modular goes way beyond any semi modular synth. I am a sucker for Sequential polis (Prophet 10, Rev2, Ob6, etc) but this thing has its own space in any mix.
Couldn't agree more! The Matriarch combined with a Sequential Poly is a match made in heaven :)
I don't get the stereo filter on bass, sounds out of phase and is wandering around when adjusting resonance or cutoff? This really prevents me from getting a Matriarch, I would rage too often when having to deal with that.
If you keep the knob in the centre, you get basically a mono filter. Also, the stereo bass sounds collapse properly to mono, I checked that right away! No phasing.
Moogs do do the best Reese but you gotta detune the 2nd osc a bit more
Just was throwing something together quick but I agree!
@@MilesAwayOfficialGreat vid and synth of course.
Ignore me lol sometime a more gentle Reese is exactly what's needed.
I sold mine, it just felt like a task to get what I wanted out of it. My Minimoog is the total opposite. I’ll probably get a GM though 🤔
Totally fair! Super envious of your Minimoog. The Prophet 5 and Minimoog are the two expensive synths that I've promised myself to buy one day. Can't justify right now but imho they are the two most iconic synths ever and sound so good. Played a vintage Mini a few years back and nothing sounds like it. The Voyager didn't do it for me unfortunately!
absolutely love the video and echo the same sentiment. i cannot get it to fix in my mix LOL im still struggling with it and deciding if i just want replace it with an ob-6 as much as i love its sound. i dont get value in my production
What kind of music do you like to make? I’ve owned and done videos on both the Prophet 6 and OB-6 and they are far easier to mix into modern electronic/pop mixes. But I sold my Prophet and kept the OB-6. Ob-6 has lots of character but it’s the polar opposite of the Matriarch in terms of character, it’s super bright and wiry whereas the M is dark and woody. They actually compliment eachother super well.
there is some reverb on it or is this just the moogs output without post processing?
There’s reverb on 1-2 of the clips but otherwise the entire video is pure Matriarch! The analog delay can sound a lot like reverb
You weren't mature enough for the Matriarch. Glad you made it.
Just selling mine. It does a few things wonderfully and sounds lush but ended up just being the Matriarch...that’s kinda it. Lacked the lush versatility of the Sub37 and just lead me down the same playing style every time I played it...and having to build a patch every time meant I was distracted creating a sonic rather than music. Lovely beast though for the right usercase (and defo not for someone playing clean limp electronica with autotune vocals and hammy drum machine rythms), hope it goes to a good home :)
Totally fair, I had this exact logic before. If you make me chose, I pick my Sub 37 tribute everytime (my fave Moog I’ve ever owned). But I found myself missing how unique and characterful the Matriarch was. It might not be versatile but it has flavour by the bucketload!
@@MilesAwayOfficial you watch...in 3 months time I'll be sat on the crapper watching your vid again and wondering why I sold it. This is the way.
The new product won’t compete with the matriarch. The oscillators may be similar but it’s the semi modular set up along with the stereo filters and delay are what set it apart.
Agreed that’s what makes it special! But let’s see, if Moog makes a modern memorymoog the world may explode!
@@MilesAwayOfficial I’ll be keeping my Moog one too. A synth like that will never be made again.
so jealous! I'd love to get a Moog One someday, every time I play it at the store my mind is blown. @@final_mile_music9713
Mirror will be made in us. Like model d.
Amazing to hear! Any info on it?
Just curious, what does the “Made in” sticker say on your new one? Is it still USA or are they making them in an Asian country now?
Still made in USA! I ordered this one in November 2023, so it was manufactured before the in music takeover
I bought mine a month ago and I will NEVER EVER sell it.
Congrats! Great synth choice 😊
I didn’t know that synth was poly, I thought it was only mono.
4-voice paraphonic. 😎👍🏼
fjghabdfkjghbdfg I had the Matriarch as well and let it go. These past few weeks, I've been contemplating picking one up again since I miss it and this video is not helping haha
It’s a tempting one for sure, just so hard to replicate the sound elsewhere!
I much preferred my Sirin over the grandmother
I’d be interested to hear the matriarch delays in person certainly
Will wait to see what the mirror brings
Interesting! Sirin is one I’ve never played, but I loved Christian Henson’s video on it a few years back. What did you prefer about it?
Only Moog sounds like Moog. Nothing else matters.
Amen!
Nothing to be ashamed of buying at full price selling at a loss then go buy again at full price the exact same item - some times I deliberately find the shop with highest price as well only to list it after a few weeks at cut price carnt beat it 😊
Ouch, we both have bad luck! What synth did you rebuy?
@@MilesAwayOfficial never really bought anything back I’m just fooling about but I remember a guy who used to sell bikes and buy them back more expensive and this post reminded me of him. No once I sell a synth it’s gone I’m sure about it when I want to move on
From any companies shifting manufacturing to China is a death blow because proprietary information becomes public domain.
I didn't know that, that's wild. I hope Moog has a bright future..
well, there's a new one coming out soon, so...
Brother, if one has no presets, we shall all pass !
amen.
