  • This is a workhorse of a motor on my big fishing boat and my friends fishing boat!
    In this video I am showing you two different Mercury 150 Outboards running down the lake. One is my outboard paired with a 20 foot SeaArk ProCat 200 and the other is a high hour motor paired with a 24 foot SeaArk Striper boat. I am very impressed with this outboard! Maybe Mercury has fixed the outboard problems of the past? I have caught some nice Catfish while fishing in this boat and my buddy has landed some monster Striped Bass in his too!
    Don't forget to 👍 the video and share it with friends! Please check out my channel's Community tab and About tab. I post channel updates, useful information, and lots of fish pictures on both! Thank you for watching!
    I want to thank Okuma Fishing USA and Team Catfish Tackle for being partners with my channel! You may see their products throughout my video.

      @@TNRVG ; well there is big aluminum block with a Schrader valve on it (Labeled MERAB CHJ, I think it’s the fuel control guts) that has a rubber hose (drain line) that leaves the top of this unit and exits via a bulkhead fitting in the bottom of the cowling between the transom and the motor. Had it in once during the warranty period and the fixed it (?). It’s happened twice more but seems to stop on its own eventually. There is never any gas inside the cowling it just dumps it out and it runs down the motor mount and into the water or on the ground if your flushing it. If you have the problem you WILL smell it. The 60 came out way before the 150 so yours probably won’t have this issue.

      Its best to find a cruising speed that is not wide open throttle. I don't remember what that was on this boat/outboard. I never really drove it that far either. 10 miles max usually stopping places on the way. If you install the bluetooth module I think it shows your gas usage. Find the MPG that keeps you happy, on plane, and conserves on fuel.

    • @TNRVG
      @TNRVG  Před 28 dny

      With any boat full trim while at full throttle will make the boat porpoise. You have to find that sweet spot where the boat is smooth and the RPM is maxed. Although its not recommended to go full throttle at all times. Takes to much gas and can blow the outboard eventually.

Believe I should be getting up to about 5800-6000 rpms rather than 4800-5000 give or take.
