    Not gonna lie the 3800 took longer to get it sounding on point than the 2700, but once I got it, it felt like a light went on. Sounds phenomenal

      @@homecinemaking397 Yeah I used the MultEQ app in combination with the AVR app. It sounded too bright and airy at first, and I had to get it dialed in manually. Once I did though it sounds better than the 2700. I know people say going from the AKM DAC to the TI DAC is inaudible, but I honestly disagree. There is definitely a change in the sound characteristic.. I had both the 2700 and 3800 plugged in side by side and was able to (somewhat) do A/B testing

    I love denon the s760h was fantastic but I can’t justify the extreme prices for the big boys at 1699 it’s crazy expensive when I got a rz50 for 1299 and then you have to pay 350 extra to be able to get Dirac so now your at 2k plus

    Easy to setup and the meaty amp section on the x3800h really shines. Well built and packed with features that make it future proof. This has everything that you would ever need. Yes you could buy something more expensive like a marantz, but how much better will the results be? Denon have really nailed it with the x3800h. If you get your room acoustics sorted and pick speakers that are at least 8ohms and have good impedance, then you can't go wrong with this. Amazing value for money.

    Seems like the directional sub would not be good if you have 4 subs for the purpose of eliminating nulls in response across seating positions

    Hai i am from India and a proud owner of the 3800H , it's a great unit has all the bells and whistles a movie buff needs , the only grip is that after caliberation the set up is supposed to be saved in one of the presets, but after twerking all the things I find that the settings go for a toss by itself the next time i power on the unit, it's driving me nuts , please guide me as to how to save the caliberated settings to the pre set and also how to copy the same preset to all the sources hooked to the amp in different ports , awaiting your reply in this regard at the earliest

      @homecinemaking397  Před rokem +3

      Ok so this should not happen and its the one thing i like about Denon and Marantz. The only time a the calibration file will be dropped is of you change your amp assignment after you have calibrated. So amp assignment first and then calibrate, select to save to 1 or 2 and you are done. This should then be calibrated across all inputs as standard. You can still go play around with levels and stuff like that it will not affect you calibration file.

      The 50 but purely for the looks and the new remote. Sound they are very much the same with the Marantz more tuned towards the music perspective. So if its for mostly movies go Denon and if you want that bit more style and also serious about music go Marantz👌

    This looks great (thanks for the review, mate) ... I have a couple of questions, but I'm totally not asking with any expectation or entitlement to answers ... but if you have them, then grand :) :
    1. Can it passthrough 120hz Dolby Vision gaming with VRR turn on and tearing tech like AMD Freesync from an X-Box Series One?
    2. Can the pre-outs be used at the same time as the speaker outs?

    No ability to listen to movies or music at low volumes. Plus, when the movie Dynamics change, one might find themselves having to reach for the remote control. For me, it's with Denon's 2 channel audio where it really falls apart.
    Certainly wouldn't class it as the best of the best.
