The 60 fps is the great difference
On xbox they fuxked it up. Before it already ran at 60 fps. Now its dropping below 30 because of the poor performance it got with this update

@@N1ghtstyl3r because you probably have the PlayStation 4 version installed you need the PlayStation 5 version which you have to download. Fallout 4 for PlayStation 4 is also included in PlayStation Plus but this version does not get a free upgrade to PlayStation 5

@Gamingmontel I think that's the only reason they ever exceeded, because they could build large environments for the time based off dystopia fallout textures that are universally all very similar and lack detail. This is why Starfield didn't succeed, because it made something futuristic in a more advanced video game environemnt become bland when they stuck with the exact same cookie cutter style as the fallout series. They were never really good at making video games. People usually liked the dialogue and the choices you could make that effected the game. I never liked any of their games.

Having played PS4 version on PS5 and now the new PS5 version...
I can say there is a noticeable difference in clarity. There was a slight blurring that is now gone.
It actually runs with all the DLC. Before I couldn't get past the load screen with DLC.
Was a free update. So all huge bonuses considering.

Did you have the disc or a digital version of the game? I can’t get the PlayStation plus version to even show in setting a performance or quality mode. I have the disc and I’m reinstalling it off of it to see if that works currently
And about autopop trophies?
Have they fixed the missing textures bug? Two days ago I had to stop playing in hopes the update fixed that issue where a good portion of the textures were missing with purple textures as placeholders.
When static, not much of a difference, but when in motion, there's a massive difference in framerate and textures. Gunfights look a LOT smoother at the 2:45 mark.
The foliage and trees look a lot better in the ps5. Other than that it's very similar to ps4 pro
There are other noticeable differences like the dog being a lot better on ps5 and the shooty gameplay looking better in hard to see but noticeable way. If you look on ps5 during the shoot gameplay the resolution is better and the bullet flare is a more dynamic effect
The gun fights are ass in this game lol

For me personaly ps5 2-5sec loading is worth it, ps4 almost a 1 minute in open world games.

Yall thought it was going to be a massive difference. Need I remind you, games have looked INCREDIBLE since the PS4/XBox One generation. The fifterence now is frame rate in just about every game. Yes, some textures look better, but there was never going to be a massive upgrade like PS2/Xbox-PS3/Xbox 360... there will never be a jump like that again.
How do you get the update? I have the PS4 version on the p5. It has the logo for the both the PS5 and ps4 but when I play it it just seems to be the ps4 version. Also in the store it says 19.99 next to it which is weird but it also says play. Perhaps that's because I just have the basic ps subscription.
Did you manually set to 1440p to get the ultra settings? Thought it was a weird callout in the patch notes. But its there. Ultra settings if your system res is set to 1440p. I doubt it would be much of s difference though. Just curious

i played the ps4 version last week and played this updated version today and the difference is more noticeable when you actually play the game. playing at 60 fps in particular is a huge plus imo sure, it's no the witcher 3 next-gen update, sure but i think it's worth a look if you haven't played the game for a while and want to dive in again.

If you are asking about adaptive triggers, that is a no. They only improved the gameplay in this update and I don't think they will ever update the game to utilize the adaptive triggers.

You have to install the ps5 version of the game not the ps4 version. So yes, you have to delete it then download the ps5 one

Ikr, CD project done excellent job on Witcher 3 next gen remastered. This is Bethesda we're talking about. Aside from higher resolution and framrate nothing much just Minimum lazy port.

Best comparison video I’ve seen the up close environmental stills really help it’s not like a RE4 remake difference but it’s a lot smoother clearer and retextured for sure very well

Graphics improvement was slight but they added a few things you probably didnt notice the coffee when you start the game if you stand away from it has steam now and the water actually moves and flows they also added small waves when wind blows in the game as well as fixing a lot of bugs also cogs worth was made shinier
The close-up of the tree definitely shows this is a substantial upgrade.

After watching the Amazon series I got Fallout 4 on PS4 and one of the DLC’s was keeping it from even launching the game, much less play it.

Still not sure about difference in performance mode (on) or off (quality mode).
It's clearly visible a slight improvement that still makes a difference in the glance, look at the sign and letters in Sanctuary Hills, how they are more defined and look less grainy, already the environment looks less cartoony and slightly more alive. And consider that we are noticing the difference on a CZcams video, in game this will be even more visible. Ok it's not a remastered this one however the improvement can be seen, it is quite obvious. What worries me instead is the compatibility of mods on consoles after this update..

All I’ve noticed is “some” textures are shinier but not in a good way. Even textures that irl would be flat, is shiny. And maybe its a little sharper. Fps is the only difference

Textures are a bit sharper, seems quality mode does have a few more details. All together, nice but not game changing. 60fps, added content and stability/bug fixes are the big thing, as long it doesn't break anything else.
Ps5 is much sharper and less blurry. And fps in performance mode is key. Also textures are improved

In my LGC9, Graphics mode seems more brigther y and Performance seems more darker, with contrast... Definitely, i prefer Performance mode vs Graphic mode at 40fps and 120hz
I especially like how quality mode adds a whole 3 extra branches but tanks the performance.
I noticed that the lod increased a bit, but nothing significant close up
There is a massive difference to the resolution, shadows, lighting on an OLED TV in Dolby Vision on the series X, game looks amazing

Literally only difference is HD textures you won’t notice, and the water
Hard to tell in a compressed vid and viewing on a phone, but the difference is quite large when playing it. Quality Mode runs at ultra settings and native 4K, and the draw distance and level of detail (especially things like distant foliage and such) are bumped up a lot over last gen’s version. Performance Mode is a bit less, running medium settings but you get dynamic 4K at 60 fps. So it is a trade off. XBox is currently not working as it only runs Performance Mode whether you have the toggle on or off. Hopefully that gets patched quickly. Otherwise I was actually impressed and had just expected the usual res and fps bump over the last gen version and call it a day. But the game looks a lot better, especially in Quality Mode.

Background stuff and shadows look cleaner. Performance vs Quality was harder to see….but mostly distant objects….i noticed.

For people who do not see the "performance" option, you have to uninstall Fallout and reinstall it, choosing the PS5 option. I also recommend installing the game first, and once installed, installing the dlc, otherwise it will crash when you start it.

I dont care for looks, can someone tell me, if i play my ps4 Save file on a Ps5, will make my game run smoother and give me even more room to build my settlement? Mind you my settlement is already filled, even did the capacity glitch to reset it, i think twice, to the point where i occasionally experience crashes, so i stopped doing the glitch. Now my question will it run better when i load back my safe file, and will i able to expand even further without crashes? Anyone knows?
The shadow quality, textures, and grass density has improved, but the difference in quality and performance mode I can’t really see other then the framerate hit from 60 to 30, 40 if you have VRR on your tv.

Shadow distance on performance mode still the same,it easy notice when you leave vault,distant houses not cast shadows,like on pc ultra settings

I was blown away by the difference of the native ps5 version,stunnjbg at 1440p 60 fps.....so good i never bothered to transfer my old saved, just started a new charactor and will enjoy it from the beginning.

People are saying it’s 4k 60fps, if that’s true then what does the performance mode do?
That is performance mode. It tries to target 4k at 60fps. That's why you can barely tell the difference between performance and quality mode because for the most part it does hold 4k60. Meanwhile quality is native 4k at 30fps.
I replayed this video on my 4k tv at max resolution and my conclusion is that quality mode won't do anything for me because that 4k tv is 60hz. (Which is how I got it at such a reasonable price.) The texture is identical. I can understand how 40fps on a 120hz must look great. I think it'll just give me screen tearing I can avoid with Performance Mode and matching 60fps to 60hz. Sounds reasonable? This is not my area of expertise (unlike say, translating manga) so let me know if this sounds wrong in any way. Cheers.

I got the update and I can’t change the quality mode or the performance. Ode on my ps5. I think I’m stuck on the ps4 version.
If your update was a 9-10gb file size then it was just the new add ons update for the ps4 version and not the next gen update. The next gen update is around 50gb and it'll create a separate ps5 version of the game on your ps5 main menu. Once you start the ps5 version you can import your save file from the ps4 version.

Both modes yes. Resolution mode 4k native 40fps if you have 120hz VRR.

Performance mode is very nice, graphically and fps wise. It was free, I'm happy enough.
Expected a bit more, but 60 fps and somewhat nicer effects and textures for free are good enough for me.

So the textures got higher resolution textures im assuming the LOD goes to 4k textures which is nice, higher frame rates which is very nice as it will run smoother. A game is only as good as the artists push it that being said id like them to add better lighting and that will make a huge difference. I liked the game already at the end of the day minecraft looks pixelated but people still play it.
Biggest difference is framerate, 60fps should be the standard these days as it's a huge improvement over the 30fps that we've been dealing with for ages. It's 2024, low framerate shouldn't be a thing with these "newer gen" consoles.
40 fps mode is a chefs kiss, more 40 fps modes please devs.
