Sometimes you just have to go back to the drawing board with your race plans. Brian Cahal goes from a size Large Pivot Phoenix in enduro mode to a size XL for the longer, rowdier courses of the European Enduro World Series rounds. #MTB #mountainbike #enduro - Sport
The music choice of this series really gets me stoked
I switched to a XL trail bike when I went and rode in Ecuador in the Andes, the terrain there is insane. 4 hour downhill runs and super steep trails.
Bernie and Lada Man peaking out the truck at 16:07 xD
Best episode of the series yet. Really liked it!
Good job Brian. The experience you gain from this is priceless and you will take it with you forever,
Very nice video !!! You do not see many privateers racing videos so well put together. Cool interviews, and pits moments. Results will get better, keep going !!! Well done
Interesting take on racing in the Alps 👍👍

Looking rapid at the end there 🤘😎
Send it dude
If you come to Spain, specialy Alicante, Valencia, Mallorca you are going to freak out, everything is pure rock
Yes very true, I'm in the province of Alicante, everthing is rocky up and down, very little flowy trails. Valencia is a bit less rocky if you go to higueruelas.
looking good man, the one thing for the stability in cornering I recommend to watch your body position, it seems your weight is more on front end and rear wheel is unweighted, I know you know about correct body position with straight back, but it easy to forget when riding when you’re constantly remind it yourself, good luck in future races
Dude looks like Ben Askren if he did sit ups. 💯
Looks a lot like Ben.
Best comment seen today.
I’d like to have a post race beer with Jesse and Jack.

Think the large could have been better for the furo euro tracks?
Honestly missed the large in the tightest of corners but the XL allowed me to be in a better body position and push a the way to the bottom of the tracks which was why I made the switch. It was a bit of a handful at first but as I set up the bike and got more comfortable I was pretty happy with how I was able to manage the euro corners. Ended up with a much higher bar height by the end of the trip, I think if I started racing with the higher set up it would have helped a lot.
@@briancahal Fair enough. What do you think changed from your previous take on appreciating the more traditional geometry of downhill bikes (previous video) and the associated benefits of more balanced FC/RC on shorter reach bikes for front wheel traction? I was surprised because Euro tracks probably have more unsupported corners than US tracks do. A lot of the fastest guys like Richie opt for smaller bikes for that reason.
How did you miss your flight?
how did you raise the BB with a offset shock bushing? I thought they only worked to slacken out the bike.
depends on the orientation of the offset bushing when you install it. If you install it such that it shortens the eye to eye it will slacken and drop the bb. If you install it such that it lengthens the eye to eye (what he did here), it will steepen/raise. You can see what it looks like at 6:49 in the video.
🕺
Do you ride to the top?
190mm zeb?
Running a 180mm
Higher your bars are the more you have to push against in steep stuff. I think bar height would have solved your problems on the L
I agree, raising the bars on the large was part of the reason I went to the xl. The higher bars made the reach shorter on an already short bike and it just felt cramped and put me way off the back. I ended up going to XL and going to a drastically higher bar height, was able to run higher bars and feel more centered in the bike.
Hey my dude - use the term "Scat" or " Droppings" when going for some kind of scientist working in the field look
How tall are you?
I'm 6' 1" or 185cm

@@briancahal oh and you ride a xl? Im 195 cm and on a L
@@okcool1564 the size XL on this frame is more comfortable to larges on normal trail bikes at 485mm reach
@@briancahal I thought you said that you rode a dh bike cause the reach was shorter so you could get more travel out of your arms. How does that change with riding a xl?
I feel like he’s doing it right, looking for progress, not magic results
Yeah, Bicycle racing involves Pedaling. Must be a Millennial who learnt to ride on a Strider. Afraid of wind... Not a born racer.
