- Disney Dreamlight Valley is a new game inspired by Animal Crossing New Horizons, Stardew Valley, and other farming life sim games like The Sims 4. How is the performance on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch OLED and Nintendo Switch Lite? I tested this game for lag and frame rates to help you see if it's worth getting the Founder's Pack on this handheld gaming system. The game is in Early Access right now but it will be Free to Play next year.

Will you be getting Early Access for Disney Dreamlight Valley? It’s a fun game so far despite the performance issues. I hope they can improve it but with everything looking this good, I don’t see how they could. Gotta make some sacrifices somewhere if they want to lock it at a smooth 30fps. Here’s to hoping!
This feels like it would be a great switch game but I think I’ll pick it up on a different platform

i have it on both but pc is much less buggy than switch. i already have 19 hours on my pc save
If I had something else I would get it but I only have the switch so like I'm going to get it on that. Hopefully it's not too laggy
@@marybolton5611 my friend got it on switch and she’s having a good time on it, with the update supposedly it supposed to run better so you will most likely be fine.
I’ve played a few days on switch and so far it’s only had lag with one song, no glitches, and it only shut down on me once.
Biggest tips is don’t open menus too fast and be careful with quests. Always do exactly what a quest asks and don’t use items in your inventory that were collected before the quest started.
Imagine playing a game having to avoid doing stuff cause it breaks or performs bad , this game is poorly optimized and shame coming from gameloft

LOL thank you it was my first time to do one lol I have seen a couple of them so I thought I would try it out while I was recording this one. Wayback in the day I used to clip portions of my favorite songs so that like the chorus would never end and stuff lol so I have always enjoyed that kind of challenge.
I've been playing it for months now on the switch since early access first released and I haven't had any issues like it's so fun!

honestly, this game is okay on switch. it definitely needs to get better, but for now it's just playable. i personally just ended up playing it on my laptop.
How is it on the laptop
@@switchunboxing it runs well, consistent 60 fps at 1080p and the highest settings on my laptop. i do have a 4gb vram 3050 ti and an 8 core amd cpu, so im a bit spoiled lol. even though a laptop 3050 isn't the most powerful card, it's honestly enough for most games at full hd. i do have some problems with the map and menus. it sometimes does not let me leave the menus and i have to restart the game. not the biggest problem though.

Nintendo Switches biggest problem with Disney is crashing 😭
Every day I have 2-5 crashes.
At least it auto saves often!!
I just hope they fix the crashing even better. Mine keeps crashing even after the update
Aww mines only crashed twice but then again I’m still at like 7 hours gameplay. Thankfully it saves often.
Mine crashes every 2 hours at... lags, crashes, being stuck in the menu...

It was working super well and now it’s so laggy I can’t even move 🤪 super fun
So, I think doing the daily chores like picking up all of the sticks, getting rid of all of the purple malice, and mining all of the big stones, makes the game perform better. I actually mentioned this in the video but I had to cut it out for time. Maybe it’s extra incentive to get the chores done lol. That and I removed all of these trees that I have added in the video, and the game is running smooth again!
You talking about ps4 or switch? I know people have told me they don’t have really any problems on, I think PC? I would think the newer consuls would be cool. But I’m not sure about last gen
I'm on xbox. Sometimes theres lag after a big update but not for long. Fun to play!

DO NOT BUY IT ON SWITCH. it sucks. Lags like crazy, skips and I always get “error occurred” then it shuts off. I really wish I played it on my ps5. A lot smoother and had no issues but in already put so much time into this game. Can’t start over now. Waiting till next year. Now all I do is watch vids on CZcams lol
I got it to be manageable but then again I removed all customization from my island lol. I found that cleaning up the night thorns and mining stones that pop up helps performance too. Just more incentive to get the dailies done! Haven’t had a crash in awhile either. But I’m only like 3 villagers in. I have Goofy and Mickey and Remy.
It’s all rainbows and nostalgia until it literally comes crashing down around you. I’ve barely decorated. I get lost into it and apparently take too long or do too much at once and when I close out of decorations it just crashes and I’ve wasted all that time doing literally nothing. Could’ve been farming clay or iron…. 💀
how did you get this far??? Whenever I decorate in the meadows my switch locks up and its stuck in a loading loop. Its abysmal because I put my house down there

@@switchunboxing I know, I think I found the issue though, the flowers in the meadow arent rendered for me so whenever I try to put something ontop of one the game starts to freak out.

3 months later, is it still lagging or crashing on the switch?
My crashes have gotten better and the lag has too but it’s still there - along with the music skipping. But I don’t have any decorations or trees in my areas anymore I got rid of it so that may be why it’s better. It’s def playable and overall looks and runs fine. Idk if that would be the same if I added all the decorations - probably not
I hate you can't order that stove you get from Scar it's not even in the catalog. I wanted to have 1 in a few places.

How is it now (lags/glitches/crashes) with all the updates? I'm on the fence about getting this but I'm leaning more to no.

UPDATE: as February 2024 the game is ass on switch, poorly optimized, hiccups every 3 seconds, input delay, lag, random freezes, and u still can get soft locked by rushin menus and dialogue boxes, SWITCH version is really bad (pc seems to be the way) [I do not recommended getting the game tho ]
Not surprised. However, I’ve been told it’s a lot better now. Lots of people are enjoying it on Switch so it’ll just come down to personal preference. When I was playing it in 2022 I didn’t find it unbearable.
@@switchunboxing a few updates ago it was decent, but recently at least base game (not considering paid dlc) is back to bad performance, is really annoying, i like the game as a concept but gameloft has been lacking on the optimization area

I really don’t know if they can too much, it just looks so good visually. Something has to be sacrificed. They would need to make changes to the appearance of the game I think.

The lag and load times made me request a refund. It was unplayable and shut down so many times.
