We take what could be our last visit to California's Great America! Cedar Fair recently sold the park to the company Prologis and the future of the park is unknown. We also take a visit to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and go for a hike!

Santa Cruz's Giant Dipper is the best coaster of the 1920s. Crazy laterals and airtime, how was that only built 4 years after the invention of the upstop? Honestly holds it's own with CGA's big 3 in my opinion.

Just went to CGA last night for the first time in over 10 years. Pretty impressed with how Cedar Fair turned the place around, would be a shame to lose the place.
Also Flight Deck's ops were still terrible lol. The Gold Striker ops were killing it though.
My last ride on Gold Striker was august of 21, first visit to the park, my dad and I were legit in the train before they had everyone get off and wait in the exit area. The operator said it was because the air gates broke, and that she had never seen it happen before. 30 minutes later we got our back row night ride right before park close, and it was absolutely sensational. As an east coaster (pun intended) like yourself, ik how difficult it is to get to the Cali parks, and I feel even more grateful for my experience knowing the fate of this ride. Glad to see you giving it the love it deserves

Giant Dipper at the Boardwalk is a classic coaster. The Santa Cruz Boardealk is one of my favorite parks ever.

@@Tortidis987 dude, I grew up close enough that I could go regularly. It's the coaster that broke my fear of coasters and made me love them.
I even forgive it for giving me whiplash on that hard turn after the second drop. 25 years later my neck still crackles in the spot I hurt it taking that turn the wrong way lol
That and the Giant Dipper at Belmont just make me happy. And yeah always enjoy a day in Santa Cruz.

Glad to see you guys at CGA, my beloved home park. I wish I was still in California (in another state atm for college), maybe I could’ve met you. Anyways, I genuinely hope by some miracle that the park can be saved, I don’t care who buys it or what happens just please save it. And if nothing else, I hope all the coasters will be relocated. I’m still so heartbroken that cedar fair sold it I don’t want it to closeeee😭😭. I go ALL the time and have been a season pass holder for 5+ years, it’s such a special place to me.

It’s a great place. I only live like 40-50 minutes from it so it’s one of my locals parks (cga is my home one tho). I went there in may for my school’s senior ditch day and it was so fun
i used to work in the redemption arcades & games there, this brings back soooo many memories!! the boardwalk is a gem, i had no idea how unique it was having grown up there!

Literally just visited this park 3 months ago and it was amazing. Visited during a friday night and the longest line we had was railblazer for 20 mins. Got to ride almost everything and would visit again in the future just for Gold Striker.

I've been to this park 3 times this year Gold Striker is so much fun and flight deck is way better than I was expecting. You're absolutely right, they don't make inverts like they used to.

CF just sold the land it sits on. They still own the park. Since the said announcement, a bunch of park improvements have been happening both on and back stage. Being optimistic, I think the park is still going to be here to stay...I mean, it's my work place and my place of relaxation so I'd definitely hope for the best with the place. So far I'm liking the improvements I'm seeing.
Chiefs fan here, can't hear news of our offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy (aka Eric the Enemy) without thinking for a half second to myself, "B Man the Antagonist". Its a stupid name association game my brain plays every time I guess. Now you know, great video btw!
BOARDWALK VISIT HYPE!!!!! this is my home park i love it
My family and I go to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk every year. If you go I also highly recommend the fireball, crazy surf, wipeout, and undertow. Really I recommend going on every ride you can. It's such a fun park and I always love going. There's also an arcad at the end of the boardwalk if you need to burn off a couple extra credits. If you plan to go on a lot of rides get the ride bracelet which allows you to go on unlimited rides the day of purchase and will pay for itself if you go on enough rides (and if you know you're going ahead of time buy it online since it will be cheaper.)
Crazy how I just left the Bay Area yesterday and ElToroRyan posts about being in the region the next day.
Last year i rode the Giant Dipper in San Diego, and it was relatively tame. I assumed the Giant Dipper in Santa Cruz would be similar, so I thought my 6 year old could ride it as his first "big boy" ride. And holy crap that thing moves! I was not expecting that opening tunnel experience too. He was scared but liked it!

I know the guy is who working with the company ProLogis and says that “They are going to close it down in 6-8 Years, it just depends how long it takes the land deal to process” but it sounds like it will most likely close.

I love RMC raptors, the only one I've ridden is Stunt pilot, but I rode it around 8 times in the span of 2 days. 6 times the first day, and twice the next day

Hate California gas prices? Here’s a great idea! Take the VTA bus from the SJC airport to Metro/airport, light rail station, then take the VTA light rail, blue line to Baypoint, then take the orange line to great America/Levi stadium and walk to Californias Great America from there. It’s not so expensive way to get there. And it’s probably faster.
It pays to have a Costco Membership. Paying 4.98 is a place where gas is 5.50 - 6.00
Californias Great America is my home park and its sad to see it go but I personally think it's not going to go stay
