  • We have a teaser trailer for Disney's upcoming live action remake Snow White! Let's take a look!
    Also, we have a reveal of Stitch for the live action remake of Lilo and Stitch!
    Edit: I didn't realize about the title change, I've must have been living under a rock about the word being offensive but that's why I asked and then realized after. So my bad about that.

    I didn't like the dress at first, but now that I see the full picture, and know what they're going for, I'm good with it. It seems like they're going for a full-on cartoony vibe. Bright colors, very animated. The set, colors, design, and general vibe, all remind me of the Thomas Kinkade super saturated and colorful fantasy disney paintings. ... Which, honestly? Slay.

      I love Thomas Kinkade Disney puzzles, that's a great way to look at it!

      That is one of the worst things a live-action remake of an animated movie can be - cartoonish. We need more movies that look like _Cinderella_ (2015) and much less like _Aladdin_ (2019). It's a live-action movie using modern day resources; surely they can do better than this.

      @@0deadx21 I disagree. It's a fairytale. It should be fantastical and animated. Gritty realism doesn't really work for Disney's version of this story.

      @@rjenyawd This is giving less fairy tale vibes, and more fantasy-based alien world from an anime isekai vibes. The fairy tale aesthetic is quite simple - homey, cozy, and picturesque. It doesn't have to be fantasy to feel like a fairy tale. _Cinderella_ (2015) has a believable fairy tale world despite being low on the fantasy. The _Snow White_ film reduced the realism so much, everything looks artificial, and ridiculous. They might as well have made a computer animated movie instead.

    I love the dress think it’s the best dress that represents the new generation of Disney princesses other than Jazmins teal outfit none of the princesses dresses are close to the animated princesses and I think Snow White looks great. I love the elevated look of it, and I love the idea of it being ripped apart losing the bow, running through the dark forest turning into the dress we recognize!

    • @artsyafroqueen

      I also like the idea of it being ripped apart, I wish they ripped apart the top a little more.

      The original dress was made with animation in mind. When you're switching mediums, you can't just lazily copy an outfit and expect it to look good. The live-action _Cinderella_ characters look nothing like their animated counterparts and they're better off for it, because the filmmakers prioritised the live-action medium and realism before everything else. This live-action Snow White dress looks like a costume. It does not look like believable clothing. She looks like a cosplayer, instead of a believable character.

      @@0deadx21 i think you're just being overly harsh. The dress looks fine and the colors match the vibe of everything else around her. The only things I don't like are the sleeves, and the shape of the shoes.

    • @0deadx21
      @0deadx21 Před 29 dny

      @@rjenyawd It would have looked better if the bodice had darker blue sections, the skirt was lighter yellow and was a single layer of one material instead of looking like multiple layers of chiffon, and definitely get her new shoes instead of what looks like ballet shoes. She looks like a children's entertainer cosplaying as Snow White.

    I actually don't hate Stitch's character design. He DOES look a lot like the original (aka cute, fluffy and blue, with big, black eyes). The mannerisms are also very Stitch-like. And the fact that they have the same voice actor reprising his role is VERY smart. Much like Mufasa, Stitch has a very specific voice, and you have to capture that voice to really make the character work. I like the actors they have chosen for the human characters. The little girl they chose to play Lilo is just darling and I like who they chose for Nani and David. I am keen to see who will play Cobra Bubbles. I think Samuel L. Jackson would do well.

    Yes it’s Disney’s Snow White bc they where to have 3 movies total. But bc if the bad press. They may not. The dwarf in this movie are not called dwarf bc it’s offensive. Thier are called diamond Minors or minors.

    I also agree with you that I am not impressed with this dress they have chosen for this iconic Disney Princess. They got the colors kind of right, as far as being yellow and blue, but I do think its the shade of colors and the top of it that is throwing me off about it. It looks cheap. In the original Snow White, her dress stopped at the puffed sleeves. And you are correct...she IS missing the bow, and that is very important to her ensemble in making it Snow White. It seems a bit bulky on her, honestly. And the bottom part is too flimsy and the skirt is too wide, with that heavy top. It looks like someone playing dress up as Snow White for Halloween, and not Snow White, herself. I don't see Snow White here, like I did with, say, Angelina Jolie, as Maleficent or Glenn Close, as Cruella. Gal Gadot definitely was giving Evil Queen vibes though. I liked her costume.

      @artsyafroqueen  Před měsícem +2

      I don't want to say I don't see Snow White because I do, but I agree with you in that I think the top is just too bulky, I think that's just my biggest issue with the dress I think is the top. Maybe they didn't want her to have her arms out. I would definitely like to see some of their other potential designs.
