I use a Honda water pump,a generator with heated hose,and another electric pump up my hill witch is 3 times taller and steeper and my cabin is 200 yards away,and I can fill a 300 gallon tank in about 2 hrs

Have you seen the shows about the raindeer herders/nomads? They live in teepee's called chum's in -71C and move every so often with their herd. It's fascinating.
As far as the log over the creek ,maybe de limb it especially underneath where other trees moving down stream can catch and dislodge it
right... tie it off and raise it 5 feet wont have to be doing the same thing year after year

I live in a climate like this and it gets super cold in the winters .Sometimes it gets so cold that the roads freeze and you could go ice skating on them.When my dad was little if he spat on the road in the winter time then his spit would freeze within 2 seconds.But anyways nice video I would love to see more Of these kinds of things

Probably because of the cost to get the equipment to these isolated locations. Most of these places can only be reached by plane or boat.

I watched and entire season of Alaskan's living in McCarthy. There's no way I could do it. No shower, no running water, no electricity. NO FREAKING BATHROOM. I don't know how they do it.

I watch all series except Port Protection. My perception Is that t's a good show and interesting. Though I myself am no a hunter nor an outdoorsman I like watching how other people live, I admire how people live in the wilderness and the courage It must take. Does anyone remember the episode where Jessi was crying because they had to go back to Fairbanks to civilization, It's like she was having a meltdown. Not making fun but I've never seen anyone like that, and Fairbanks though not like somewhere like Manhattan Is nowhere a city most of us are used to.
Nice to see them alow the dogs too socialize physically instead of each one being on the chain. But l don't know how that works when they're adult.

Happy Thanksgiving me and my family went to a camo for 8 months haul our own water get our own wood hunt for food we got water at -60 jus keep pump inside hose long enough to reach ur house put 200.tp.300 gallon tank jus set up pump hose get water simple after done put away inside so don't freeze

A bucket of snow melts to very little water.
Melting snow is a very inefficient water source
Nutrient deficiency: Snow should not be used exclusively as a source of water, as it does not provide all the nutrients that the human body needs.

its just completely pointless when you can dip your bucket in the water and fill it up instantly vs burning all them calories and time. dont like it spilling fabricate a lid dont make your lady risk her life to get a block of ice.and clean looking ice or not it should be boiled and at that point the color of the ice dont mater

That may need to do that on the worst winter days, and can get it nearer the cabin. It takes much more snow to make the same amount of water as it does using ice.
If one gets sick or hurt they need easier access in bad weather too.

A few years ago i saw this guy invent a campco like device, attached a hose to a propane tank ,threw the hose into the water, lake,stream, and had unlimited hot showers by the side of the road. Hed even made a privacy shower curtain and it worked amazing. Why couldn't they get the -50 insulated hose and use that when they could.?

I'm definitely a fan of this particular show with all the participants better letting us View life, with that being said why the producer played the song at the end is definitely disturbing, if you listen real close you hear the words, bad choice of a song for sure, why the heck would you play "you have the devil inside you set the church on fire"... ..why oh why would someone in their right mind play that on a National Geographic documentary of the scope? Either way I find it a very bad choice and wanted to voice that because I'm on the comment section and I can do that

Very good series, except watching Chris and Jessi ! She does most of the talking and more then half the time she fails at the task, really doesn't know what she is doing, and is no where near as brave as she talks ! She also clearly wears the pants in that family ! Take them off the series please !
