  • A Testimonial video on Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) and Child trafficking in Livingstone produced as part of the Increased Public Debate media campaign by M-films Production sponsored by USAID/PACT (Z).
    IMPACT OF THE MEDIA CAMPAIGN IN ACHIEVING THE IPD RESULTS:
    A simultaneous and coordinated nationwide sensitization campaigns were carried via national television, stakeholder workshops and mobile video shows. The impacts of the strategies were overwhelming and well documented.
    a) National Television Broadcast and capture of feedback. The main documentary was screened several times with Infomercials and contact details inserted to that affected and concerned public could phone in for help.
    b) Community interactive Mobile Video shows (MVS) to increase public debates and capturing of feedback. The MVS were conducted at Malota markets, Linda Sec schools. Audiences were engaged in heated debates thus exposing more of the sexual abuse scenarios and syndicates within there communities.
    c) The Stakeholders Video Screening Workshops and presentation of feedback from communities so as to simulate increased stakeholders debates, discussions and ultimately the development and enactment of by-laws designed for mitigating the scourge of CSEC in Livingstone. The IPD interactions were conducted and hosted by the Livingstone Mayor in the Council chambers. The documented impacts of the stakeholders resulted to the immediate shutdown of all exposed notorious lodges and brothels in Livingstone and the children withdrawn and taken for safety homes under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare, YWCA, Ebeneza Child Care and other NGOs.
