Finally, a professor giving young people reasonable arguments to consider. He's not telling them what to think (which would be WRONG). He's not getting nasty with them for not agreeing with a particular point of view (which would be WRONG). He is treating them like the adults that they are and opens his class up to discussing multiple points of view - and allows them to make up their own minds.. This means at the end of this class there will be many students with multiple points of view - instead of a class full of students that all think the same. THIS IS REAL TEACHING.
Surprised he's been able to do this. Without getting fired or shot.
Students are so rude in his class, on their phone when they should be listening.
we're allowed to be on our phones to have an inner class discussion through our own class page media ...... -__-
Fact checking my butt off on my phone. Keeping notes.
It's about context. HMMMMM!!!
There is a difference in racism, prejudice and ignorance. They do go hand in hand in a lot of cases, but these 3 situations should not be compared.
completely agree; He is justifying responsibility. Is no one to be held accountable then?
@@PatriciaFigyou can be grid accountable. He’s teaching people there is nuance to life. It seems he worries about this new generation that is taught this means that every time. People can’t put themselves in other peoples shoes or understand mistakes happen, bad moments happen. These moments he’s described are minor most likely mistakes. You shouldn’t hand their entire lives for it.
It’s like the Internet shows you their mistake 2347 times with each critical comment. That stirs emotions and making decisions with that in mind is pretty dangerous leading to a dangerous outcome. History shows that clearly
I appreciate that her strait up told her... You're not "enlightened". Use another term.
Love the class and professor. Dope we are going there.
Papa John's guy didn't get in trouble because of the N-word. He stepped in it because he weighed in on Kaepernick's kneeling during games. No one would've known about the N-word on a conference call unless except he was outted internally. The people didn't ask of Papa John's CEO to be fired. His BofD did. They could've shut up and rode out the storm.
But thats the thing, the same could have happened here. She, too, could have kept quiet. Could have just let it be. Understood that certain context can make what is said hit different.
There is an outrage culture that DEMANDS action. That's why she initially did it. Same for the BofD. You NEED to take action. You NEED to be offended. You NEED to be outraged and let it control your life until its waltzed flat.
That's the problem here.
I always understand what he wanna say...i like Prof. Sam soo much
I like him also.
kashta mossi.... No one is born black...its man who is black...diamond and pearls are found in black shells never ever in white..dont type such racist comments.. Allah has created everyone equally..there is no harm if black likes white and white black...if you're white don't show your superiority..although white are priviledged for having white color. What do you think what color is???its nothing serilusly.its ur thinking that reflects your language
Never judge a person on the basis of their race.
sania khalud just say you love white supremacy and be done with it, enjoy your butter biscuits.
How rude
I don’t always agree with this professor but It’s good he uses contemporary examples 🤔👏🏾
What ever happened to "Sticks and stones may break my bones
but words shall never hurt me." It's just sounds.
KAREN!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Omfg dying at the fact that the principal’s name was literally Karen 🤣🤣 im ded lmfaoo. But fr tho on a serious note its so unfair and he did not deserve to get fired at all ughh racist asses
I enjoy listening to this professor's class but the comparison here is not appropriate. There is a difference between ignorance and racism. The security guard was likely ignorant. However the case of racial epitaphs being tossed around by a student and the victim being fired is a blatant case of privilege, not cultural ignorance
What if a Hijab offends my religion? This BS idea we can appease everybody is insane
If the hijab offends your religion, does that mean it must not be worn by anyone? If so, do we not have a violation of the first amendment?
Compare to a cross really... hide a weapon in cross then talk to me
Security guard shouldn't be so ignorant of other cultures
You’re making a lot of assumptions about your audience. If that school has a zero tolerance policy for racial slurs then the school acted accordingly. No nword in professional settings. How hard is that to understand?
Michele Foster lol tell me who I’m racist against😂
Michele Foster I didn’t use a black emoji ? How am I racist because he used inappropriate language at his job? Just because I’m black doesn’t make you my “sister”
All skinfolk ain't kinfolk....you are right about that
Naw..
This guy seriously has a agenda. Trying to compare the three situation that are completely different. Nice try thou
he really does yo
He does, just like most other sociology or legal classes I've seen. Only his agenda is the opposite of what most other colleges teach. I'd be grateful if you could point me toward an introductory sociology course that's free of bias or agenda.
@@babyqueenxo You mean the one that defends racism against white people?
White people have had slightly longer than 300 years to figure out that they shouldn't use the N word. Time's up.
It's up the day Black people quit using Cracker, honky, charlie.
It's been a longer time that 'blacks' have had to realize words only have the power you allow them to have
Times up!
@@Brett-yq7pj Thanks for agreeing.
When black people stop calling themselves the N word, maybe everyone else will to, you think?
for non muslims, taking a hijab off is like a baseball cap ... for muslim its like standing in your underwear.
Man please poppa john is the problem and racism. He was insensitive about rights issues, when in a conference call to to fix his PR mess he says and digs a bigger hole. It is not the same as a teacher saying dont call me a N..... heck you cant even say holocaust or rappers cant say getting money like jews without having to offer a full statement of apology. Maybe its just different to me.
Poppa John is not the problem. Black racists are the problem.
I seriously can't watch one of this guys the whole videos, he takes so long to get to the point I don't really understand what his point is.
Okay.. this man is kinda doing this the wrong way..
The pandering and bias in these videos
Again - again - again / all of these people are victims of white supremacy/ racism.
All non white people especially black people are mistreated, abused, and subjugated due to white supremacy/ racism.
It will never stop as long as whites are in charge. This is a system built for 400 years to mistreat non white people 24/7.
Please vote people and use your votes to acquire benefits like other races do. Your vote is suppose to help your community with more resources and opportunities.
The jails weren’t built for them, they were built for us.
Please vote people to get a more diverse group of people to protect everyone’s civil rights.
Imagine having to fight for your civil rights. You are suppose to have civil rights as a human being. Just racist and not crazy ... we have to stop calling things crazy .. because crazy is an adjective / they are racist.
