- Aer Lingus trip report from Manchester to Dublin onboard an Aer Lingus Airbus A320 on a very short flight across the Irish Sea.
Aer Lingus flies 5 times per day between Manchester and Dublin, mainly with Airbus A320, like this flight. It's a really short flight, which basically consists of crossing the Irish Sea. Around 200km that are flown by Aer Lingus in less than 30 minutes.
Despite it's a really short flight, I've enjoyed this Aer Lingus flight a lot. It was during the last hours of the day, so we could enjoy a long sunset during almost all the flight, landing in Dublin with an amazing yellow light over the green grass. Amazing!

I did this flight just a few months after OnBoard...late January 2020. Before the world fell apart. It is a short flight, indeed DUB is only 8 miles further from MAN than LHR is.
We had a jetbridge for boarding, I almost would have wished to board via stairs (it's so much more interesting..!) The Thomas Cook planes were still across the ramp. A completely unremarkable flight - which I guess isn't a terrible thing - although it did represent my first ever flight on Aer Lingus and my first time to the Emerald Isle so it did hold some personal memories.

I flew on this service myself last week. It's a nice, short flight and Aer Lingus are good to fly with (although that was my first flight with them in about 6 years). Manchester airport is not great - the shopping/food area is decent, but the check-in & security areas are so old & tired looking, they've not really changed in the last 20 years. Great video again!

To be honest, I was quite dissapointed by the Manchester Airport. I was expecting something much better. I dont know. Maybe smth like a small Heathrow or similar... I found Stanted terminal more interesting than the Manchester one.
Maybe other terminals are better... i dont know. 😐

Great video, planning to fly to the States from Manchester with Aer Lingus when this virus is finally beat! Did anyone else note that they bundle 2 Kids Snack boxes and a ploughman's snack box with 2 beers. Thats one way of keeping good, knock em out with a beer haha

Nice trip report! You have been very lucky with Irish weather! Just one suggestion: it might be better to say “crossing the Irish Sea” rather than “entering the Irish Sea”. I certainly hope your plane doesn’t enter the sea! 😆

Cortito pero buenísimo!!!, personalmente te comento que me gustan las sensaciones que entregan los A320 sobretodo cuando se configuran para aterrizaje, el "drag" se siente mas en Airbus que en Boeing según yp lo que lo hace mas entretenido. Que bonito el aeropuerto de Dublin, bien ordenado, hermosa esa pasarela a la salida del aeropuerto. Hubo servicio abordo de comidas?. Detalle perfecto mi estimado amigo la música (celta me parece?), le puso un toque adecuado ya que viajaste a Irlanda. Felicitaciones, muy bonito trip report. No he podido ver tus ultimos trip, cuando me dispongo a ver el último ya tienes otro arriba !! jajajajaja"!. Saludos desde un país que no mencionaré por vergúenza!!!!

La verdad es que esa luz casi dorada del atardecer al llegar a Dublín en contraste con el verde del paisaje fue impresionante. :)
El Boeing 737 es mucho más "limpio aerodinámicamente hablando", de ahí que su consumo sea ligeramente menor, pero también sea más "difícil" frenarlo.
Hubo servicio de snack y bebidas de pago. La música es típica de Irlanda :)

@@OnBoardHD Sabes que también estaba pensando lo mismo?... me dije: ese avión no volaría a altitud de crucero común para todos que sería entre los 36mil y 40mil pies, puesto que no tendría sentido subir hasta tan arriba para luego volver a bajar.

No conozco Dublin, pero me acuerdo de esta película preciosa que os recomiendo a todos, ambientada en Dublín y sale el aeropuerto casi al final. De esas películas muy sencillas en medios pero que emocionan.

En general, los aterrizajes con Airbus suelen percibirse más suaves que en Boeing, pues las patas del tren son más largas y amortiguan más el "impacto".
