About me - I am Sankalpita Singh, an Indian Booktuber who loves reading and needless to state loves books. I make book-related videos on my channel bookGeeks India and blog and rant and muse on my website bookgeeks.in
If you want to know why partition happened then you must read 'PAKISTAN OR PARTITION OF INDIA' by Dr.B R Ambedkar
Right
without Ambedkar' book, those lists are incomplete
All writers wrote after partition, while Mr. Ambedkar wrote his book while it was happening, what process was to be taken.
Sorry madam your list unworthy. Fail to represent the actual reason of bengal partition of 1906. A big zero.
Even Dr. Ambedkar's Annihilation of Caste is must recommended
You forgot these books as well: Sole Spokesman by Ayesha Jalal; Midnight Furies by Nisid Hajari; Partition: Myth and Reality by HM Seervai; Guilty Men of Partition by Ram Manohar Lohia; India Wins Freedom(2nd/Full Edition) by Maulana Azad; and Pakistan or Partition of India by BR Ambedkar.
She left most of the important ones
I am so grateful for this video. I always had this need to search for good books on partition and here I found them. Thankyou so much. I am going to buy all of them. ❤
Thank you, Neha. I'm really happy that you found what you were looking for 😊 Happy Reading!
Dear, You did a great job for youth of India
Can you please suggest me some books on revolutionaries of India
Just google books on indian revolutionaries. Go to Amazon and check reviews.
Boom!
Now order one of them!
Only Indian booktuber who talked about this subject.
Interesting Channel ! Best wishes.
Partition stories are indeed heart warming and should bring lots of gratitude for our current day stable lives.
The great partition by Yasmin khan.
Creating a new Medina by Venkat Dhulipala.
The pity of partition by Ayesha Jalal
The long partition and the making of modern south Asia by vazira fazila yacoobali zamindar
Footprints of partition by anam zakaria
Thank you so much for your recommendations :)

Thank you, Dhrubani for such a beautiful comment ❤️
Good selection Sankalpita ! Make similar videos for Indian History and even world wars. Looking forward for more videos
Great recommendations. I was expecting "India after Gandhi" by Ramchandra Guha in the list.
Nice introduction to those books. How to get on with just one book remains a mystery?
That was quite a list, would definitely go on a journey to trace the roots of partition from the various perspectives.
Also, I had this suggestion if you could make videos on best books to buy from Kindle {like the ones which would be great deals} and the books by Novoneel Chakraborty.
where did you order the khaleesi poster from ? It looks so awesome. And you hyped me to choose partition books.
Haha.. thanks! That's what I live for :)
I got it from PosterGully but that was 3 years ago, I think.
Out of four books i have read, train to Pakistan and gazing at the neighbours. Both are excellent. Bishwanath Ghosh is a underrated writer, i would recommend Chai Chai.
Yes, have Chai Chai on my radar. Will be reading it soon
All throughout the video I had a smile pasted on my face 😃
I loved your introduction to all these books and surely am looking forward to read all these books.
Thank you ❤️
Thank you, Paulami. You made my Sunday :) That's awesome. Do share your reviews of these books, I would love to share them on my Insta stories. I hope you don't mind but I am going to share this comment on my FB and Insta.
@@bookGeeksIndia Aww that was so sweet 😊
No not at all, I won't mind 😃
And yes I love talking about books so much! I would love to discuss with you about these and many more books ❤️
The book market in daryanganj Delhi has been closed permanently....
Any body as any other information regarding this??
Please share...😢
Yes, it's so unfortunate. I was planning to go there once again in November but now nothing is sure :( Delhi people please do share any info that you may have.
@@bookGeeksIndia I have heard that they have been offered few other places but nothing is decided yet...
I am feeling so sad...😢
It isn't yet confirmed but there's possiblity of its re-opening in Mahila Haat.
@@Nashrah422 it did .. in mahila haat.. 😊
I hope to travel all over India, looking for used books and stamps for sale in many, many places.
You missed to mention the love story in train to pakistan. Freedom at midnight is a good book by Dominique Lapiere& Larry Collins
Plz make a video on "India that is Bharat" by J Sai Deepak
'Two' by Gulzar is a good book.
A short story 'Toba Tek singh' is also a good story on partition.
When you talk about partition of India .
all books you mentioned were written after partition with very emotional point of view.
my recommendation is "Pakistan or the Partition of India" BY- Dr. BHIMRAO AMBEDKAR.
written before partition, no emotions , based on facts and harsh realities.
You are saying right bro..👍
Wow. Thank you. I was looking for these kind of books.
Is there any book available on partition1947 having original pictures and newspaper clips of that time? Picture book kind of thing??
One should read 'THE OTHER SIDE OF SILENCE '
Add this too
Pakistan or Partition of India
by Dr. B.R.Ambedkar
It is really a nice book
It is available in Hindi too.
Thank you for your recommendation, Sumit. I will check it out :)
these books describe true
of partition time
Yes :)
The best and the most authoritative is India Divided by Dr. Rajendra Prasad ,our First President . It is a thick book takes time .
If I'm not wrong, the painting at the background is of Daenerys Targaryan 👑 (The dragon Queen)
You are not wrong. It is the mother of dragons 🐉
Hiii... Just going through the list of books based on partition. I want to share my part of one book which is based on partition too.. Vichoda
Train to Pakistan is on my tbr... i want to read it hopefully soon..
It's amazing. I'm sure you'll love it
What did you think of this novel?
Pakistan or partion of india By Babasaheb Ambedkar is highly highly recommend.
Great recommendations 👌👌
Thank you, Ravi :)
A little bit increase to know about the books of partician..thnku
How can you forgot or not ever read "PAKISTAN OR PARTITION OF INDIA', Written by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar! It's Historical Book! Historical Truth!
Actually its the only correct book which tells how things happened politically before Partition took place.
Train to Pakistan is a notable fiction based on partition
Hi if you can read Hindi you should read Yashpal's novel Jhoota Sach...it's a brilliant treatise of partition
I can’t read Hindi as yet (but hopefully soon), so I’ll look for a translation of False Truth. Thanks!
Thanks for booklist.
But you should have included the book
"Pakistan or Partition of India by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar"
This gives a complete background of things happened politically that led to Pakistan.
And what are the alternatives if not Pakistan.
It is the best book on this topic.
It is not about the things while Partition, there are many books that you have mentioned, it about how things led to Partition.

@@shreenathchavan2112 thanks
The best one is The guilty men of India's Partition by Shri Ram Manohar Lohia
If you want to read some rational book, then read - Pakistan or the Partition of India by BR Ambedkar. He will toss some gut wrenching questions to you with a perspective of Indian history.
Subscribed at first instance 🥰
:)
Luv u
Please add the book "FREEDOM AT MIDNIGHT".
I searched about book recommendation videos on this topic, bt never found it... Nd when I saw the thumbnai, it's like dream comes true, di 😊😊😊 amazziing book recommendations.
I want to recommend you two books on this topic. "Two" or "do log" by Gulzar and "footprints on zero line:writings on the partition" by Gulzar...
Thank you, Riya. Can I call you that? Also, thank you for the recommendations. I will try to read them both and perhaps include them in another video.
@@bookGeeksIndia sure di! 😄
It's my nickname. 😊 you can call me that
@@riyabasushraddha5082 :D You have a gorgeous name but I guess you already know that!
@@bookGeeksIndia
Thank you so much di.... Di,you have misunderstood my name. My good name is Shraddha and my nick name is Riya. Basu is my surname. Actually I was lazy enough to change my email username so, it has automatically used my email id as my name 😛😛😛😛😛😛
Bt yes, I like the names "shraddha" and "riya". You can call me riya...
nd actually I haven't told it(I don't know why) , I love your name a lot "Sankalpita".. Very uncommon and very meaningful.. Please dnt take it as a return compliment,I genuinely love your name nd one more thing I forgot to tell you that, your eyes are like those of Sridevi ji, very large and expressive and beautiful..😊😊😊
Nice informative video. But I was planning to read train to Pakistan and you gave up too much information :/
I have read only one.. train to pakistan... Loved it... And felt the pain of the people present at that event....
Looking forward to other books as well...
I know. It was such a sad read :( I hope you will like the others
@@bookGeeksIndia I hope so too😊
Heyy! Are u a O Henry fan? Can u plz suggest some of his good works?
☺️❤️
Please check 'India Wins Freedom' by Maulana Azad.
A worth read.
If you've read it, please suggest me about a balanced review.
@@harihara_sharanam it is a fascinating book about an indian muslim's struggle to achieve a united india. his dreams were shattered when partition happened.
I love to read history about partition. But you have missed a very good book '' Freedom at Mid night''....from pak.
One would think, Rushdie is banned over there!
hello di
Hi Prabal :)

I think “pinjar” by amrita pretam is one the best partition novel
Hello
My Ancestors Migrated in 1947 from village Dandi of PindiGheb ,now in Pak, May I have some information of this village??
Is your ancestral village in Pakistani Punjab?
Do you know the name of the district?
@@Makrania pindi gheb,RawalPindi
Aap district ka naam jante hain?
Plse give us detail analysis of these books
Seriously object to the term 'partition'
The Punjab Bloodied, Partitioned and Cleansed by ishtiaq Ahmed is the best one👍👍
How much did the book cost in your city?

Oops! sorry. I will
हिंदी बुक है क्या
यह सारी किताबें तो इंग्लिश में ही हैं
All writers wrote after partition, while Mr. Ambedkar wrote his book while it was happening, what process was to be taken.
Sorry madam your list unworthy. Fail to represent the actual reason of bengal partition of 1906. A big zero.
So only secular books made to the list then?!!
It seems she lives in a dream world. These books have nothing to do with facts.
It seems you didn't even bother to watch the video. Where did i tell you that these are non-fiction books? If you don't know the difference between fiction, non-fiction and don't understand what a memoir is, don't leave such uninformed comments 🙏🏻
PS: Spend your precious time in reading. That will surely awaken you from your 'dreamy world'.
@@bookGeeksIndia Stay grounded. Your false pride is visible in your words. Books make a person simple and calm. But it seems that you only like the pomp in books that you describe.
@@ritesh1816 what a joke! This virtue signalling comes from the one who passes on judgement without a thought. Anyways, I neither have the energy nor the time to engage with you, have a really interesting book to get back to.
Have a good day!
@@bookGeeksIndia You can make assumptions about anyone by being engrossed in your thoughts. The reactionary man is a prisoner of his intellect. Make a habit of digesting opposite views on public platforms. Otherwise, such childish thoughts will keep coming to mind. Wish you all the best for your next video. May God keep you happy.
