One rule of thumb to follow is to never commit to something right at the presentation. Tell them you want to go home and think about it first. If the offer is legit, the presenters should be perfectly OK with it. If the offer is now or never, it's obviously a scam.

Look at all of the upset scammers here defending the vacation clubs! Sooo glad we had tbe gut feeling to not sign up! Look into how they operate! They basically convince a bunch of people to pay thousands of dollars a year just to be able to book a trip through them on a website that has hidden fees to even use the website and then on top of it you can never travel to places that you want to go or with unrealistic dates. False advertising on top of hidden fees it’s just ridiculous!!!

Was there Nov 25 - Dec 1st. Yes, the resort was beautiful and yes, the 1hr timeshare presentation (that was 5.5hrs) was full of lies and very smarmy sales people. Aryana; Denise; Patricia; and Ibrahim are the names I can remember. It spanded 5 locations with 5 different people. It was so unreal that I have pitched my experience to 20/20. Read the reviews and attend NO presentation. They even put a charge on our room as a 'voluntary' donation to a school which I had them remove. Imagine if I had not checked. Run people!!!

Just got back from Punta Cana. All the resorts seem to be doing this exact same thing. Told me a weak long Caribbean vacation to a luxury all-inclusive resort cost $600. Left out the part where I have to buy airfare, additional points, and yearly fees on top of that $600 dollar price. Glad I didn't fall for that BS.

Can't remember the name of the travel club that tried to scam me, but they sounded a lot like this, constantly lowering the price, and telling me that I could pay it, even after I had assured them that I couldn't. It was a horrible experience.

Almost forgot. Every state has a cancellation period. It's called a recission period that ranges from 3 business days to 2 weeks. It's required to be on the documents and almost all states have to be bonded. Wouldn't you think that the Post Office would shut down every single travel club being that this all goes through the mail? That would be all kinds of federal crimes.

Yikes…what a scam. Wife & I attended a presentation at Steel Hill Resorts. What a rip-off. We were offered a $300 BBQ, gourmet knife set and travel bag as gifts to attend their time share seminar. At the presentation we said no, no, and no again, followed by a never. Well ..we left with our prizes though: a tiny charcoal BBQ without a lid; the knives were cheaply made Wal-mart quality; and the travel bag was a fold-up bag made of wind breaker material with one zipper over the top. Total value of all 3 gifts estimated at say $19. We never used any of it ..but discarded them immediately. Good thing we said no at the presentation. The quality of the gifts perfectly reflects the quality of the “deal” that was to good to be true.

I know someone who recently attended a more sophisticated sales pitch presented by Beyond Xpectations Inc. at the local Marriott hotel. They referenced SaveOnResorts.com as the company that would eventually provide the promised travel services. A BBB.org search of SaveOnResorts.com had about 21 complaints all of which were rebutted as "we provide a technology service, we're not related to the marketing company that sold or offered you such and such". In the power point verbal presentation, they were told that by joining the club they would save thousands on travel costs, because the company, much like Costco, leverages the hundreds of thousands of members and through this buying power they can get discounted pricing. They were convinced to spend thousands that they would presumably save in future expenses and they signed a legal document. Upon review of the legal document they signed it states: "The Network Benefits are NOT obtained or provided from the cooperative purchase of services …. Licensee is NOT obtaining ownership or participation in any discount buying organization … nor is the primary purpose of this Agreement the right to purchase goods and services in the future." My investigation shows that the future benefit, which they had been convinced was worth thousands, would not be anything more or less than they could have achieved via travelocity or priceline searches, it would have taken them 100s of years to achieve the benefit they had presumed to have been purchasing, if ever. I would consider this a fraud business. Certainly they are taking much-much-much more money than they will ever return in value.

Educating individuals about how to book their own amazing travel adventures, and that it's NOT as expensive or as difficult as they think, will make these charlatans' pitches obsolete.
Sadly, this has been going on for years now and it takes a lot of effort to shut them down and uproot them.

This shit happened to me in Istanbul two weeks ago, when they stopped us in "via land" offering all these free trips...etc,
they took us to a yacht and started doing all the thing mentioned in the video, and stupid me signed a contract for 7200 USD and gave them 100 USD, after going off the yacht I kind of woke up and went to my best friend google and found out that was a scam, I showed the contract to a lawyer and he said that they can't do anything they were just trying to get the most out of you, I'm from Iraq so I apologize for my English

We got scammed 10 years ago with Classic Holidays, we are still trying to find a way out of it. Even though we have paid the $13000.00 that it cost, we still have to pay a yearly fee and cannot cancel our membership, and even if we die, the debt (annual fee) will pass on to our kids. We still have 30 years on our contract.

There are definitely legitimate travel clubs. Everybody from your location supermarket or furniture store to car dealerships and mattress stores have today only deals. You wouldn't expect to go back tomorrow and get the same deal would you? Sales is a profession not a scam. Half of what this guy is saying is lies and the other half is hyperbole.

I'll tell you; the deal is just if you are a traveler, if you don't have the money to affort it, is ok you can stay home, and like somebody else tells you, no body will give your money back, you will consume by using the service men, example if you buy a coke you'll ask for a refound to the store? it doesn't make any sense, if you buy a car you'll go with Nissan or Chrysler asking for your money back? and them "if you have a house" just in case: you'll do the same? On the past people change things to get other so, if i wanna change my carrot for your orange, we changed and at the end of the deal you will want your orange back? But you still having my carrot? anysense?

We were just scammed by an almost IDENTICAL scheme but fronted by a group called "Ultimate Excursions" or "Coconut Club Vacations" who originally contacted us posing to be Golden Nugget Casino (a very well known regional entertainment venue). All the paperwork has different entities listed on it, which claim to be in business since the 80s. However their FB and web pages were only started in June of this year. But, you can't find out any of that in advance because they won't let you have your phone on during the pitch, they hide the real names of the companies until the presentations/paperwork are started, and you have to buy on the spot to get the "deep discount membership".
We paid 3995 for a membership and then couldn't even call back the number the customer service representative called us from. I just feel sorry for all the future people who will give away their hard earned money and get nothing in return.

+Kevin Richberg - My husband went back to the Casino and asked for a refund while I contacted the credit card company to put in a dispute while the charge was still 'pending', six hours after the transaction.
