- "While we’ve grown quite a bit since 1978, we’re still a small company with only 15 employees. Staying small has allowed us to ride the ups and downs of the bike industry over the last 40+ years as well as respond and adapt to ever-changing trends and standards. Along the way we’ve had to navigate the same, sometimes conflicting choices every business faces; how do we run a profitable business, treat our employees well, make our customers happy, and be good corporate citizens? The simple answer is, we just try to get better on every front, every day." - White Industries
"That takes a lot of different forms here: providing benefits and retirement to our employees, investing in a 100% solar-powered shop, using environmentally safe machining coolant, a comprehensive materials recycling program, recyclable packaging, domestically sourced raw materials, and making sure all our customers get the best service and support available. Put simply, we run the company with respect for everyone involved, including the environment."
In this video, JOM of the Gravel Cyclist crew is given a thorough tour of the White Industries manufacturing facility, by Sean. Sean is the former owner / framebuilder of Soulcraft Bikes, and knows his ways around everything bicycle related. Thanks so much to Sean and the White Industries team for their time during this factory visit!
As a reminder, all of the above happens in the White Industries facility in Petaluma, California. USA-Made.

Love the “Burning Man is stupid” t-shirt.
Amazing, I will get a crank set for my next bicycle.
I’m very happy with my WI hubs that I have on gravel wheel set. I also have the BB. That Ti free hub and the bigger pawls make their hubs bombproof with 52 POE. I’ve used mine for 1000’s of miles over the last 2 years and the bearings are still working perfectly and look new.
I’m going to build up another gravel just so I can get all the WI kit with HS, cranks, BB and another set of the amazing hubs.
Thanks for giving the complete tour. BTW they have great customer service and you know those guys ride and wrench bikes, they know everything!
I just got the G30 cranks with the VBC spider and I absolutely LOVE them. They're gorgeous and incredibly well made and it really is cool being able to change up gearing so easily.
Very, very happy
I've always liked White Industries
Lol 50x24 chainring combo ftw!
You need it 😄
Thanks for the very detailed workshop tour! been a loyal fan of the brand from ENO to MR30 crankset, M15, Eccentric to XMR Hubset, Single and Double Freewheels. Now the 16 weeks waiting period already justified. Ordered an XMR+ Hubset last November and arrived just this March 2022.
Cool workshop tour nice to see things still getting made in the US 👍
I have/had three sets of WI hubs, love these guys
Great video!
Great tour!
Great video.
Amazing in depth tour, thanks
Cool video
Very cool
of course I have a WI ENO freewheel, with use every day for years and still like new.
I bought white industries track hubs 10 years ago on a fixed gear bike a built. Use it daily since then, and they still work as good as the day I put them on. I’m currently building mountain bike wheels and I’ll only use weight industries
I want that shirt!
Is that Sean Walling (Soulcraft) at the front desk?
Well spotted.
It’s strange to hear White Industries say “big big companies” I’ve always considered them just as high quality as Phil, Shimano and such
Could be
Hard to sell a secret tho. Spent a few hours of frustrating searching to get to this comment
Almost imposible to get shipped NZ, any body willing to forward on for me?
Hello Simon, I thought there was a wheel building company in NZ who imported all manner of goodies into the country?
So if Adrian gets sick, the operation stops dead…weird business. Thought much bigger, especially since so expensive. I spent $200 for their front hub, and it was loaded with sharp aluminum shards on inside of disc screw holes…sad. Had to remove with a dremel then repolish.
You should probably voice your concerns directly with White Industries.
@@GravelCyclist no point. They gave me their best. I completed the job and now have a great hub.
You're welcome to do as you please, but how are they supposed to correct their processes if they are unaware of a quality control issue? Moving forward, at least you got it sorted yourself.
I was going to get new White cranks but then I saw his shirt.
