The struggle here is that the cops are trying to hide the fact that they cowered in fear and left those children with a madman. Cowardice and lies.

To be fair, that type of weapon shouldn't even be in circulation. If someone armed with it stops cops right in their track...how does common folk stand any chance. The answer is simple, take these away. Do a background check, raise the age to 21, register all weapons, license needed to own one. All easy enough solutions

Congrats, you guys tore police down so much they no longer have confidence to do their job. End result, soaring crime and police to afraid to do anything about it. Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.

If you cannot live your life without access to firearms, it's because you are a coward.
Firearms have all but one purpose. They are designed for one thing only and that is to kill as efficiently as possible.
To the world outside USA, this is just one more piece of evidence of the American cowardice that seems to be a national disease in America.

We had a gunman on campus but since it was in California, we had over a dozen buildings, not a single one.
The local cops IMMEDIATELY engaged the gunman (no shots fired, but the cops had shotguns and sidearms ready). They didn't "establish a perimeter", they didn't wait for orders, they risked their own lives to stop this guy in his tracks. Chased him across campus.
My students and I were sheltering in our classroom and the gunman was trying to break in when the cops surrounded him and took him down.
If it'd been these useless badge-toters in Uvalde? We'd likely all have been killed.

These cops are disgraceful, they should be ashamed of themselves. I've been saying this for years: they are hiring just about anybody these days. That's why there is so much incompetence, unarmed shootings and corruption these days. People who are cops these days do it for the power. You used to have to be brave and helpful to the public. But so many cops today scare so easily which leads them to shoot first and ask questions later. They aren't willing to give their life to protect the public. Many cops these days are just wusses and people that were bullied in school and now want to have the power in their favor. If you aren't willing to risk your life then you shouldn't be a cop. There are far too many traffic cops who just drive around giving tickets and never help anybody. Unqualified, under-trained, wrong temperament and in it for all the wrong reasons. Reduce the amount of cops and you'll have a higher quality of police, safer streets and more trust between police and the general public.

That's absolutely not true. Still would rather die a hero than live a coward. Go in and try to stop them, but fail? You're still a hero. Can you imagine being such cowards that you listen to the screams of dying, helpless children for over an hour while preventing parents who have more balls than you inside to do what you won't?
Teachers have died for their students. Unarmed, untrained, and obviously outgunned, these people have given their lives by throwing themselves in front of doors, covering children with their own bodies, and attempting to fight back.
During the Virginia Tech shooting, a professor who was a Holocaust survivor threw himself against the door to buy time for his students to escape through the window as the shooter attempted to get inside. He perished a hero who actually saved lives. Only one student in his classroom lost their life as the professor was shot four times through the door.
Zero excuses. Imagine the outrage if firefighters refused to enter a burning elementary school to save kids because it's "too hot"

@John Grigg You're right more shootings will happen and that's the sad part. It's not if it will happen again it's when will it happen again. School shootings are the worse. These kids were our future and these cops stole their future from them by letting them bleed out. I see these officers as just as guilty as the shooter.
I hope the DOJ comes in too. I hope they charge these officers with charges like Manslaughter, Dereliction of Duty, Child Endangerment, Neglect of a Child Resulting in Death, and many more. If I would name all the charges they could face for their cowardly acts I would be here all day typing them out.
And you're right the current Sheriff will no doubt lose reelection. I can only hope his replacement will do better than their predecessor. I hope they make huge changes within the department. Thank you for your comment.

Cops stood outside the school while the killer rampaged inside for 40 minutes. Onlookers yelled at them to go in. They didn’t. One parent urged bystanders: “Let’s just rush in because the cops aren’t doing anything like they are supposed to.”

It should be illegal for cops to prevent citizens from taking action when they are not. There are many parents that would have sacrificed their own lives to go in there and stop the madman.

Those cops are an EMBARRASSMENT. How can they even have the balls to show up to work again?

The Cops were told to stand back because this was CIA Operations, They want you to believe an 18 year drop out making $7.25 an hour part-time at Wendy's buying a AR15 $2500 each with optic scope $200., body armor $500 to $1000, Ammo couple hundred & drives to the school with a $70,000 ford F-250. Then the cops wait outside until the deed is done mean while the drop out is busy posting on social media contently during the whole ordeal ? Seriously ??? The identical incident happen with the Sandy Hook shooting the suppose gunman wakes up posting then they say he shoot his grand mother then this mother then goes off to kill not the bullies but innocent children. Right!!!
