Chicago has the toughest gun laws in the US. Ask them how that has reduced the crimes in their city. It's not a gun/tool problem it is a people problem.
It's a people / gun problem. When a state next door has lax laws about guns then the state with strict rules won't really have a better outcome. We need national laws about who has guns, how many, what types. Anyone that thinks otherwise is part of the blame for all the shootings we've had & those yet to come.

It's bizarre. The police and teachers should have been able to inform the parents and reunite evacuated kids with parents quickly, a matter of hours.
The deceased are likely still inside the school if they were dead on scene.

Guys I just watched a few more reports and unfortunately the reason is that many of the children have been severely disfigured due to head shots :( therefore they are having a trouble identifying them but they been doing DNA swabs on the victims and parents to help identify them! This is just terrible…
In my home country you need psychiatric checkup even to get driver's license. I'm totally pro gun, but only for law abiding mentally stable adult citizens. 18 years old is too young to buy a gun, even 21 is too young. Go get your LTC, go get trained and don't be trigger happy. Guns is good as a last resort only.

Watch a series of videos called " The Bullet Proof Mind". It tells us how to prevent shootings in schools but it also tells a story of things to come and why. People kill people not guns. No guns? Then bombs, molotov cocktails, knives, bows and arrows and so forth. Watch the videos and see there is a solution.

I m asking for prayers, as the school superintendent stated they needed them to get through this. So do we. Asking in prayers for us to see action of some sort, any sort, every sort to finally say enough and work at anything, something, everything possible to make sure this does not happen to someone else and their family. As a father I am horrified beyond measure, loosing a child is beyond understanding and my heart goes out to those parents going through this and that entire school, the school, children and parents affected all have my deepest sympathies and prayers. I am disgusted that any politician (Biden) would use this as an angle for laws that make no difference, the laws we already have are enough if they are just enforced properly. In the end any criminal will never go to a police station for a mass shooting, they go where there is NO RESISTANCE and easy, innocent targets and my kids are in the same boat as all the rest of us on this platform, however politicians have armed escorts, secret service and plain clothed agents to protect their children. I want to know where my kids defenders are?? Where are the officers or specially trained persons to defend my kids schools. If this school had personnel assigned to defend it, this would NOT have happened; how do I know, MY Highschool had defenders in it (Uniformed and plain clothed police) and it worked back then, as it would now. If Biden truly wanted to help he would stop sending Billions overseas and save that money for the paychecks for assigning trained defenders for all schools in the nation, and helping get raises for the Teachers and Schools many employees. THAT would be the best place to start.

Will the School and Security be liable for failing to protect the children and teachers ? Can anyone walk in the school with guns ? Will this murder spree be accurately investigated to determine who failed to report or warn the school ? I wonder how long it will be until the next murder spree ?
So, the schools and law enforcement are powerless in these situations! They can’t protect the schools with infrequent patrols. The schools need walled off premises, security cameras and staff, dedicated armed security. Metal detectors, facial recognition systems ( like at the airport security) and armed teachers. Yes, we are at war with crazy violent killers.
Safest Alternative ? Yes, Home Schooling!

Most of these issues start with proper parenting. So many lazy parents who neglect their kids, do not discipline and expect society to raise them. They don't keep up daily with the kids, allowing them to drift and sucked into bad habits.
We TRIED to prevent this tragedy, we PUSHED and PUSHED to allow teachers to carry. THEY denied those votes, and that access to teachers, and THEY now have blood on their hands. Hopefully they get what's coming to them.

There will always be guns no matter what laws are passed, it's time to address the real problem that would be the disturbed people committing these atrocities and finding a way to keep guns out of their hands. Even if you made guns illegal, it's impossible to get rid of them, the bad guys will still get their hands on them. All gun restrictions do is make it difficult for law abiding gun owners to protect their families and themselves. This shooting is awful just like any shooting, my prayers are with the families and friends of all of the victims 🙏 🇺🇲

Mental health is part of the issue, but so is the fact that there are way too many guns out there, and it's way too easy to get one.

Instead of blaming the gun, we should be blaming BULLYING, by which seems to be allowed in schools, and are not doing enough to STOP it. Bullying is the cause of this outrage. Bullying is a tool of violence just as much as a gun is, but bullying is the cause.
