Well you cant live permanently in another country on a tourist visa. If you get a nomad visa, then you are asking for trouble without telling your boss as you have to declare the source of your income for the visa. If you are going to be in Europe or some 1st world country then you should be worried but many 3rd world countries could care less especially if you are a resident or citizen.

Will also need to have my PC checked for tracking/anti theft hardware.
Anyone else getting away with this?
With the cost of living in nyc through the roof a 100k salary has very little buying power...even a 200k salary wouldn't get you approved for a mortgage in this area.

@@venson1804 I used the GL.iNet GL-AR300M16 Mini Router, which you can get on Amazon for $29. You just plug it into your laptop with the USB cable that comes with it, and once you log into your router, you can connect to any wifi and add your VPN details to it. Then you can log into your mini wifi router's address from your work laptop and it will feed over the VPN's IP address from your personal computer through the wifi router. Works like a charm. Some may say that your work can tell your IP address came from a VPN, but as long as you consistently log into it even when you're at home, you can just say you do that for personal security reasons. You're just connecting via wifi anyway, not like you're installing VPN onto your work laptop.

There are very few true remote or work-from-home jobs.
Despite the fact it's more cost-effective for the employer not to have a brick-and-mortar location they can't keep their thumb or eye on you if you are at home.
There's also the fact that it's not as productive the employee is not sitting at their desk in their home for 8 to 10 hours a day they get up and go grocery shopping they take a nap they do whatever employers know this.
This is why most can and will monitor your computer. They know when you are on it and when you're not.
But as I said there are some remote jobs but they are few and far between and there are also a lot of scams.

She’s not fear mongering. She’s speaking in general terms. It’s ultimately up to the viewer to figure out their work situation as everyone’s is different. You’re talking about your specific experience. That doesn’t apply to everyone

can you explain how to do this? what if you worked for the gov and they require a vpn to log into their sites? how can you do a vpn to mask your location and then use their vpn to sign in?

@@RS-hz1yi some company computers wont allow you to install a vpn software. Unless you get a new laptop/computer and use that to do your work. My company has web based programs that I can access anywhere to do my work, so I bought a separate laptop and use vpn on there! Good luck
