MP-44 is a better figure. And like Bobby said on his best and worst video for 2019, it is by far the best Optimus Prime you can get. I just can’t see spending $400.00 (yup, I saw it for $399.99) for another Optimus Prime. I think I have 10 of him.

We were playing Bobby S's videos in the background last night during gaming. My group are all pretty good guys who all are really into Transformers too. This video came on last night, and that statement just gutted one guy in our group. Whereas I collect CHUG and some 3rd Party, and 2 of the other guys collect mostly 3rd party...this particular friend has the whole married/kids/mortgage going on and his collection is mostly older CHUG from before he had kids and the latest Cyberverse. I genuinely think that statement kinda embarrassed him in front of the rest of us. And that's shitty. He's a sweet guy; literally the definition of gentle giant. He's a hard worker and does everything for his family and friends ...and he loves TF as much if not more than that elitist asshat.
Probably shouldn't be pissed over a stupid statement, but I don't like seeing my friends done that way. I've decided I'm going to invite my buddy and his kids out for lunch and a toy hunt this weekend, and I'm gonna spring for some earthrise figures for them all. Partly because he deserves it..and partly just to spite this asshole.

That mmc chug comment was harsh, heres my take. CHUG collectors know their fiction and want ALL the characters. You wont find many MP collectors who know more about TF fiction (cartoons/comics) than CHUG guys. And MP guys excel in discerning qualiity and engineering of figures.

I love my MMC Guzzle. There isn't another one even close to as good. I really wish they would do an Ironfist (and throw in Verity in her armor suit while they're at it).

@@SardoNumspa82 I have seen it and it is about 50% of the way there. I would prefer something quite a bit better. I love my MMC Guzzle and I want an Ironfist up to that quality bar. I think MMC would be the best ones to make that based on their track record with these guys. Based on what they have done it sure seems like something they may already have a prototype for or something in the future plans checklist. I'm a huge fan of Last Stand of the Wreckers and it seems like they've been working their way through this list of characters and this likeness of them. I hope this trend continues.

MP-44 is on the list. Weird proportions, too many panel gaps, the works. Magic Square or Transform Element for best OP so far.
I Agree lol...in pics mp 44 looks silly glossy to me and lacks cab detail...for the really clean/simple toon look i cant help but think light of freedom or Op leader is better
For quality for the amount you pay... MP-44 is a bit embarrassing compared to TE-01 OP.
MP-10 is definitely still worthy of being in any collection. It's still one of Takara's best MP's to date, having both a solid robot and alt mode. MP-44 is still a better proportioned and more accurate representation of Prime (regardless of the price), but MP-10 still holds up.

Very fun conversation. Normally when there is a toy (excuse me, figure) that I dislike, I sell it or give it away. I never keep stuff that I don't like. Even the old ones, if they are good, I'll keep them (I have Feral Rex and other reformatted, the Maketoys cross dimension, some old and recent CHUGs, etc). I think in my case it depends on how much I like the character, and how the figure looks. It's funny that any of you guys mentioned any of the Masterpiece top third parties (imo): Fanstoys, Maketoys or Ocular Max (MMC). I think they are aging well and we will wait more years to get an improved version of them. Regarding the Datsun brothers, I find difficult for someone to do an updated version since Takara/Hasbro are still milking the mold, and we saw what happened with a company that dared to challenge a current official offering. So unless they stop using the mold, I don't see any third party doing an updated Datsun Fairlady Z. In the case of legends it's a different case, since the scale and price range is different and not compete directly with Masterpiece imo. Anyway, I think my most hated figures have been Hasbro CHUGs from combiner wars. I wanted to do all the combiners since I love them, but they were so flimsy and floppy that I regret spending $100+ for something that couldn't stand on a shelf w/o falling apart by the smallest door slam. Happy New Year guys! Hope that 2020 we have some great figures to revive the Transformers Masterpiece collection (officiall and third party).
I love mp Tracks, but I can't deny his flaws. Such a shame there isn't a better option.
Same here, though I dont own tracks himself but I do have both the roadrage mold and whatever the fuck the decepticon one is called despite it not being perfect. That said, I buy transformers for the looks and the interesting enginering and not to have a representation of a certain character or whatever, never cared about any of the fiction. I bought the tracks mold twice because I think its a coolass toy, and I still think it is, im not looking for "better options"

The v2 XTB Arkos/Beachcomber's tolerances are solid and has metallic paint to boot. I can do the stupid shake the figure and nothing moves on it.

This was a fun discussion. I don't agree with everything, but hey, to each their own. I was in denial about liking MP Tracks... I wanted to like it so much.
I think it might be helpful to learn about how pieces have aged in your collections as there were pieces on their that you had reviewed well when they came out. So, when these go on sale it’s always good to know if you should pick them up or not.

Datsuns and mp10, heresy says I. I shall prepare the wicker man. Dont think I have any really bad figures, worst are probably Hasbro mp sun and acid storm, but I paid £40 each for them new so for that I'm content. Oh and tracks, but at least that blue is beautiful.

Fun topic. I guess it kind of depends how you correct for age and expectations. Objectively, G1 Sizzle is terrible but correcting for age and how cheap it was I guess it's fine.
I have both Xtrans' Glider and Omnigonix Spinout but I bought them knowing what the quality was like, I still wanted them and they do the job I expected of them.
My big collecting failures are Universe Ironhide, MMC Cosmos, MMC Insecticons and MMC Cliffjumper. None of them do the job I bought them for and, even having got a great price on both Cosmos and the Insecticons, I regret every penny spent on them.

I think the first figure looks like a great likeness of the Quintesson’s Shark Guards (not the standard Sharkticons, the other ones!)
The Allicons. I have one, and these guys are nuts. It accomplished exactly what Impossible Toys meant it to do; to look like, and fit in with the Transformers Hasbro put out in 1986. Stand it next to the original Sharkticon, and they both have the same aesthetic.

MMC Vos is fantastic. I was commissioned to turn one into a Rung and liked it so much I opted to build the Rung from scratch so as not to destroy the original figure.
I love my E11evn Logan. Best Hugh Jackman headsculpt I've seen. Even more so than Hot Toys.
I actually like the Allicon, but you have to use it right. I have a complete vintage G1 collection and it looks great with it. I don’t think it was ever really meant to be with any CHUG amd certainly not MP. I don’t think it would ever fit into their collections, though.

I haven't thought much about the worst figures in my collection but I'd have to give that prize to Black Series Director Krennic. The skirt piece is too big, the arms have sucky articulation, and the cape always looks like its floating around him. Last Jedi Luke has a pretty sucky cape too.
I finally noticed that Robert D is spelled as Dee, and it made me laugh more than it should lol

Yes! The MP Seekers are garbage. I had all of them and sold off all of them. I got disgusted with how poorly made the Coneheads were, especially at the price Takara-Tomy was asking. Those, and Skywarp and Thundercracker were also released in a way made Takara-Tomy look very reluctant to do so. Like little kids who don’t want to brush their teeth and say, “Do I HAVE TO?” I actually feel bad for complaining about that first MP Starscream and it’s unconventional color scheme. That one felt special.
Power of Primes Octane is one of my favorites! Blitzwing looked pretty good! Possibly the worst Hasbro is ‘86 Galvatron. Only ‘86 Ultra Magnus is worse w/no articulation, it his saving grace is the white Optimus!
Honestly I've love for Hasbro to take another crack at Metroplex. He's huge and I love him, but he looks terrible next to Scorp and Omega. Maybe after that shoehorned Ark figure.

I'd say MP-36 is probably still the worst figure in my collection, and the tragic thing is that I still think it's the best out of the possible Masterpiece Megatron options.
What?? How's that even possible. I feel like mp-36 is the best in my collection. I can see him not being your favorite but the worst feels like a stretch, unless you just don't have any toys to compare it to.
Weijiang Megamaster is the best one I've gotten and seen.
@@AshleyTogepi To be fair, some of that is gut reaction, because it was the one figure that made me stop collecting official MPs after being already underwhelmed by Inferno/Grapple and especially Shockwave. I do like the head and the lower legs, but hate almost everything else, from the dull and easily scratched paintjob (this is the only Transformers toy I never dared to transform, and I own both FT Rouge and Hoodlum) to the elongated proportions to the upper body being basically a chest-shaped fig leave covering up a junk yard. From what I hear, the KO's do solve some of the technical problems, but not the look of the toy.
Albin Eigengrau interesting. I hear a lot of complaints about the transformation but I transform mine a lot and it seems like something you just have to get used to. I remove his face and his chestplate when I transform him, specifically to avoid scratching paint, but besides the spot where his fusion cannon attaches I don't have a single paint scuff on mine and I've had him for nearly a year. I've just come to terms with the scratching on the fusion cannon mount because it's not visible when the fusion cannon is on there and it's not like I'm ever going to display him without it. I also am a really big fan of the Floro Dery style that Takara has been doing for the mps with the small waist and long legs, and I guess that's a controversial opinion, but even then that's more of an aesthetic choice that I don't think would really warrant calling it the WORST transformer. Or even a bad one. Sure he's got some hollow spots on his back, but he's also got NO backpack. He's virtually kibble free and that's worth the price of admission alone.

Listen Paul, I've given some thought to this. First of all, very very few people work 70 hours a week. But I assume that what you mean is that you work ALOT of hours, and I believe that you work hard and frequently. The economic reality is that many many of us are cutting back on the things that we would like to buy because we are struggling to pay for the mortgage and put food on the table for our kids. I am in this situation and I'm glad that I'm in it because in my city (and all over the country) homelessness has become an epidemic. Tent cities are everywhere, drug addiction and depression seems to be on the rise everywhere you go.
Therefore, having you all discuss adult collectables that you find out of date or displeasing for whatever reason, when they cost a small fortune, comes off as a sour note at best and incredibly arrogant and childish at worst. I'm sure that's not how you intended it to look. I'm sure you're not a bad guy. But try and look at how this particular episode of the podcast looks from another perspective, a more economically disadvantaged position.
Regardless, I enjoy this channel very much and I myself am I collector. As a side note the most trash third party figure I have is that Soundwave that turns into a video camera. He's super old, among the very first third party figures. He Sux.

Have to agree about GT Protectobots they are awful, the QC is appalling, the plastic quality is awful, every time I touch one of them it feels cheap and that it’s going to break, and they still use light piping, I hate them all, shame as their devastator, jazz Optimus and Megatron where all really good. Not buying them again. I love the reformatted line it’s unique but it is getting old now especially as CHUG has slowly been pushed out the market by MP. Happy New Year Bobby and family

It's the term the tf community uses to summarize the ongoing main series transformers lines that have been going on since the mid 2000's, starting with Classics, continuing on to Generations WFC Earthrise. It stands for "Classics, Henkei, Universe, Generations", although it encompasses more than just those 4 lines.

I almost forgot PowerMaster Prime. They didn’t even care at that point. And ALL BAYVERSE are garbage. Wanna buy some? Lol! The fact they’re making Masterpiece “Studio” is about as cool as TF2’s “Devastator”. $100.00 retail and does t even come apart or transform. Lazy!
My #1 has to be Ace Toys Cliffjumper. What an absolute pile of shit.
For me, let's see...:
5. Power Rangers Super Megaforce Action Hero mold. Granted, Bandai America would fix the stability problems _within the Super Megaforce line_ as the Legendary Rangers all stand up just fine. But the main figures, the Super Megaforce team? The girls are a chore, and the guys will flop over instantly unless you have them standing with a pelvic thrust to them...a lot like some Transformers, actually. It's annoying and shouldn't be a thing. (That said, however, I only need Green to complete my Super Megaforce team...and I was never able to get him. 😒😒😒)
4. Power Rangers Heroes reissue of Lightspeed Rescue Red, Blue, (Green), & Titanium Rangers. These were recycled from the "Mega Battle" figures that released during Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue's days on store shelves in 2000-2001. They're not bad per se, but lack elbows and don't look quite as good as the basic figures. Plus, reusing these was just stupid because that meant no reissues for the Pink & Yellow Rangers, making it impossible to complete the team. And apparently, the Power Rangers Heroes line that was a Kay Bee Toys exclusive back then was all about reissues on the cheap - at five bucks a pop.
3. Reveal the Shield Targetmaster Cyclonus. The QC was ABYSMAL, with uneven hips that make standing it tough and transforming it a real chore. To this day, I only forgive it because it's my first ever Cyclonus figure...and the Combiner Wars one is crap. So there aren't any other CHUG options. 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
2. Reveal the Shield Hot Rod. Yup, the other half of the Battle in Space set. This is a *POOR* use of the Classics Hot Rod mold. NO clear plastic for the windows, loose joints, and the commonly known issue of the left arm popping off at any given time. I had zero qualms about replacing the turd when Titans Return Hot Rod came out!!
1. Year of the Goat Soundwave and his Minions. Now, if I had known this was one of those things where you just pose it and walk away, I would never have gotten it!! They're almost entirely clear plastic, and clear plastic parts just don't hold up over time. It didn't even hold up a year before cracking in places and breaking in others!! My big survivor amongst these losers? Ravage. Ain't the regular Ravage the main one folks complained about breakage issues!? Mine is just fine. I have no idea what kinda cheap Dollar Tree crack the folks at Hasbro were smokin', but whoever thought making a predominantly clear plastic version of a Masterpiece figure was a good idea? They should've been drug tested & fired. And I bet that Year of the Goat Laser Optimus Prime is just as bad.

KFC ditka aka shitka doesn't stand that we'll even though I made used the replacement knee and feet parts worst of all replacing the left knee the leg fell completely off from the waist tried contacting KFC for a replacement part never heard back off them managed to fix it but on top of that there was other bits not glued properly and fell off and the common tail fin issue I switched him out for your other hated blitzwing the 2020 reissue of dx9 gewalt had no issues what so ever and poses great but loved KFC products before the ditka now I'm very wary of there products and watch the final product reviews from many before I decide to purchase there products
