To average 34ppg 9rpg & 10apg on a 50 win team and NOT win mvp is insane. Ppl gon look back on his stats n see no mvp like wtf 🤔
I think people underestimate just how big a gap 34PPG vs 26PPG is. Plus, Luka's team has been injured way more than Jokic's.
Kyrie has played more games than Murray, Gafford and PJ have played every game since getting traded. Plus the Nuggets bench is worse than the Mavs.
@anirudh_s17 kyrie was not the only player that was injured lively, dante, derrick jones, maxi and luka still caried them
@J-manf1 most advanced stats favour centers
You know averaging higher ppg is correlated with your team being injured 😂 your argument sucks
@@anirudh_s17 Mavs: players missed 139 games
Kleber - 38
Exum - 27
KYRIE- 22
Lively - 22
Green - 20
DJJ - 6
THJ - 4
Nuggets: players missed 44
MURRAY - 23
Gordon - 8
KCP - 7
Watson - 3
Porter - 2
Jackson - 1
Braun - 1
And by the way Jokic have the better team / talent around him💯
+70 games played
34 ppg, 9 rpg, 9.8apg
73 point game
21 triple doubles
50+ win team
5 clutch victories
sickening if this doesn’t win MVP…. They said it was the standings and record holding him back….. clearly not
Broke the record for the most 30+ point triple doubles in a row. Broke the record for the most 35+ triple doubles in the row. Broke the mavs record for most 3pointers per season. Broke the mavs record for most points in a season which was a 40 year record. Has the best efficiency rating in a 60+ point game. I’m sure if I spent a couple hours I could make a great case for him.
Jokic has slightly better TS%, higher BPM, VORP, Win Shares, and PER. Jokic also won 6 more games this season. Everything is pointing to Jokic being a slightly better and more valuable player this year. If Jokic doesn't win this year, he will never win another MVP again due to pure voter fatigue.
More volume than joker and less efficiency. Id love to see a co mvp but joker should win the award. Especially after embiid cried one away from him last seasonit plays into the voter fatigue
@@matm6916 Michael Jordan was objectively the best player in most of his winning seasons but lost the mvp to incredible seasons by others. No Joker hate (couldn’t happen to a better player) but why is he the anomaly where he automatically gets em all (bar ones he’s cried out of). Luka did astounding shit this year, I just don’t get the dismissiveness of what he just did this season. Again to mention, it was games won what was ‘stopping him winning it’
Hes a center ofc he shooting better he got easier shots@@zeepip3386
Crazy how Luka wasn’t winning enough as the 8th seed. But now he’s gonna win 50+ games and the 5th seed while having the most starting lineup changes in the league (most used lineups with SGA 700+ minutes, Jokic 800+ minutes, Luka 150+ minutes). But give it to a guy that doesn’t care and told the world Luka was the MVP…
Ion think luka cares anyways they both just want rings lmfaoo
Cone's argument regarding Murray missing more games than Kyrie falls flat when you factor in Luka missing guys like Lively, Green, Maxi, and Exum for a combined 120+ games throughout the first 4 months of the season. The Nuggets have still been a Top 4 healthy team overall.
Jokic and Luka have similar regular stats, but Jokic has the better record and every advanced stat in his favor. So I don‘t see the problem
@@Igor-hj3tn the records are close and let's be real, you and no one else had the Mavs winning 50+ games this season after missing the play in last season. Advanced stats are heavily biased towards centers/big man if you actually bothered seeing the calculus behind em, which I doubt. Jokic isn't playing any better/differently from prior years but Luka is having a personal best season carrying the Mavs hard this season. That's a much better narrative to FINALLY give him an MVP
@@bornashamloohe also leads in on/off stats so idk what you mean.nothing changed with luka its just that kyrie started to play well
WEMBY is so clearly the DPOY. To not pick him shows absolute ignorance. There is no legitimate argument against him
So his team being 19 win team with the 22nd best defense. He’s clearly the best defender but its not how it works
@zion9247
That is how it has always worked. Until these idiots now.
Duncan and the Spurs had the best defense in the league every year from 1998 to 2008 (except 2002 where they were 2nd to the nets). Thats an entire decade of dominance.
TD has the highest defensive rating of all time individually. He was the anchor.
Never won DPOTY. Because he never led the league in blocks. That's it.
Wembys on/off is so much better than gobert. When Rudy is off the court, the numbers suggest that the wolves defense doesn't even notice.
Wemby changes the worst defense in the NBA to a top 5 defense.
@@maurygoldblat8982 i wasn’t arguing that wemby deserves it or isn’t the best defender. I said dpoy cant have a top 10 worst defense and only winning 19 games doesn’t matter if ur the best defender u wont win it on a lottery team with one of the worst overall defense.
@@zion9247 Since Pop moved Vic to the center position, the Spurs’ defensive rating went from 22nd in the NBA to 18th, while the team’s defensive rating with him on the floor has improved even more to 12th! That's a 10 spot difference. If that ain't DPOY material, then I don't know what is.
@@haremmabugatjr.5651 read again ^ I didn’t say he wasn’t the best defender. its just not how the awards goes to a 20 win team with bottom half defensively. Its like saying the mvp will always be the best player in the league if not mj should have 13 mvps and lebron should have 10-12 mvp. The dpoy doesn’t ALWAYS go to the best defender there’s no arguing hes one of or if not the best defender
People keep assuming Luka is going to win an MVP eventually. It's this exact mentality that's given him voter fatigue despite never winning MVP. If the media keeps saying he'll win eventually but never votes for him, then he's NEVER going to win it. He could easily wind up like Chris Paul, Wade, West, etc. Luka's exceeding expectations this season but the media is snubbing him for an apology MVP for Jokic smh
No jokic has been more valuable the luka this year, that's why he'll win it
I would give it to joker anyways but the fact that he got fucked over last year because of the cry baby it makes it more likely for an apology mvp this year I do think it’s super close tho
Luka is Mvp. They wont give it to him hut he is the one that ACTUALLY deserves it this year.
Jokic is putting up the same numbers while leading his team to more wins.
@@zachattackpro4586 Not even nearly similar. Luka averages 8 points more and that is a huge difference
@@myrdin9216 8 more points on worse efficiency. This is the crux of the argument and why this award is debated, stop acting like its a Luka sweep.
@@themustardthei mean, if we take into account the voter fatigue that usually exists, Luka should have been the favorite this year. I think both deserve it, its close but luka probably should take it but he wont
@@myrdin9216 Jokic is 9% more efficient from the field... not to mention Jokic leads Luka in every single advanced statistic
Kyrie missed 22 games, but not only kyrie, all of Luka's starting 5 has missed 20 games this season. Josh green is still injured and so is derek lively. Its not even a fair comparison at all. Luka waded through the west with dwight powell yet again (Even Kleber was injured!) this season until kyrie returned and the trades were made.
thats a pretty standard amount of missed games
@@NotGord can you read? He said 20 games EACH
@@bornashamloo Yes I can read. Can you? I said that is a standard amount of missed games. Luka is my mvp anyways but this isnt a reason why.
@@NotGord no it's not. The Mavs were the most injured team in the league for the first half of the season and still hold the lead for most games missed for a team in the playoff picture. The Mavs only have one lineup with 100+ minutes played ffs.
@@bornashamloo Where are you getting this from because a quick google search doesnt confirm this. And I'm not talking about the lineup minutes. I'm talking about players injured. Either way I can think of teams that have probably been more injured than the Mavs like the Grizzlies and Heat.
11:40 the Mavs had a lot of injuries. I'm not super into analytics, but I believe they had among the most injuries this season...
They were the 3rd most injured team at the time of the all-star break. They’ve slipped a bit further down in terms of being most injured as they’ve been mostly healthy in the 2nd half of the season while teams like the Knicks with Randle or Hawks with Trae Young haven’t.
@@JRMason-ri4ii Yes, I think we are the 5th most injured team in the league... and we are also 23-7 since being mostly healthy... 2nd best record in the NBA. And we are still missing 2 important role players...
@@Smido83top 5 in defence. 50+ wins
Look how much injured Mavs were compared to the Nuggets. Luka was dragging a hospital to a respected record in the first half of the season. Luka averages 8 points more and that is a huge difference. Luka has simply been way better this year.
Murray has been hurt, mavs are literally top 3 most injured team in the league .. what is bro talking about .. Jokic is a little bit more efficient (He better, he’s a freaking center and luka is a guard taking 10 threes a game)
Another fire update from cone, as always‼‼💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🗣🗣
Without watching the video first here are my picks who I think should win not who I think will
1. MVP - Luka Doncic
2. DPOY - Rudy Gobert
3. ROTY - Victor Wembanyama
4. COTY - The Mark guy from OKC I can't spell his last name
5. MIP - Coby White
6. Sixth Man - Naz Reid
My exact list lol
Good list but I would put shai for mvp the thunder are 1-6 without him
I think AD is the best defender in the league they way he plays defence and doesn't foul is incredible why does no one even have him in the convocation?
@@sneakrzzz8669Nahh luka is a much better player than shai, without shai the thunder is rated at +7 I think but the mavs without luka are rated at -2. Clearly luka is the more valuable player
I really enjoy your videos bro!
Keep up the good work 🔥
Wemby dpoy
Only NPCs would would favor Jokic over Luka. Luka season way better than the season of jokic
I guess 99% of voters are NPCs
Only NPC's would pick the guy who is #1 in every advanced stat and who's clearly a better leader?
It's the opposite
Mom! Cone just uploaded!
Why Chet look like The Grinch a little in that pic at 15:06. 🤣🤣🤣
The mainstream media have help a grudge against Luka ever since he said "scoring in Europe is harder", if he wins MVP and gets publicity he more likely to discredit the NBA (refs/ difficulty )or big up the Euro league, which is not good for the $$$ of the NBA. If its a close race, they will always chose Jokic, SGA etc over him becaue of this. Most fans can see its Luka's MVP, if we as fans band together and agree not to buy league passes for 24/25 and watch Euro league if Luka does not win MVP, maybe they will open their eye$ up then.
Luka MVP & Kyrie Clutch, not that close .
Jokic is 11-10 without Murray, Luka is 11-8 without Kyrie... So I think the Murray injury HAS MATTERED a lot. Not to mention that Green missed 23 games (so far), Lively has missed 23 (so far), Exum had missed 25, Kleber has missed 37... So yeah, injuries played a huge role in Dallas. And Dallas is just 6 games behind the Nuggets, who had basically no injury problems, except Murray.
There are differences however. The Dallas Roster is more capable of withstanding injuries than Denver.
The reason why the nuggets struggle without Murray is because they are very top heavy as a team with limited scoring creation. This means that only Jokic can create his shot and since no one can run the offense from the bench you don't have anyone to stagger to keep Denver afloat when Jokic is not involved in an action.
@@johnbarkley925 Ah... look at that... could that also be the reason why Jokic has such great on off numbers and advanced stats overall? Its a bit different if Kyrie is your backup (Dallas staggers Luka/Kyrie for 48 minutes if both are healthy), compared to Deandre Jordan?
Not to mention Dallas never had just one injury at a time. From mid November till the beginning of February they missed 2 mostly 3 rotation players and starters constantly and the players missing changed basically every 2 or 3 games. Hence why Dallas never had a real starting 5 all season, untill the Trade Deadline.
And look at that... a healthy and constant starting 5 and Dallas won 24 out of 31 games... even if we never played our starters as much as Denver does. Noone comes even close to Denver if it comes to how many minutes the starting lineups play each game.
You can switch is as you want. Luka did way more with way less this season compared to Jokic. Hence why he deserves the MVP, even if he will not get it.
Horford really should be getting more love as a 6moty candidate, most important man off the bench for the best team in the league. But the award always goes to volume scorers off the bench. Basically everything you said about Naz Reid applies to Horford, the numbers aren't there but the impact on defense is far greater than any other 6moty candidates, and he's has stepped up and put up numbers when asked. Perfect 6th man imo
2020s Season MVPs
20 Antetokounmpo
21 Jokic
22 Jokic
23 Embiid
24 Jokic
25 Doncic
26 Doncic
27 Gilgeous-Alexander
28 Wembanyama
29 Wembanyama
I know he is no where near close to Maxey and Coby White, but what Exum has done to revive his career and on a hot team like the Mavs he deserve some MIP praise
I think jokic will win it but I think luka should be the one to get it this year tho
LUKA MVP
Literally posted this as my lunch break started !
It's 9:30am tho 😕
@@FaceARSC maybe hes eu
@@FaceARSC I’m EU it was at like 4 for me
Every video I watch the comments are flooded with Luka MVP! He’s the peoples MVP and should be the pick but the trash media hates on him apparently!
luka is mvp
No he’s not
I think the joker should but it’s far closer then I ever thought it would be I would not be surprised if luka wins it too
Victor should be the DPOY
Yes , Rudy was the anchor for the best Defensive team, but Victor is the best defense player because players don’t even want to shoot over him, that’s how good he is
Very good list, only thing missing is OG has to be lock for all defense he’s absolutely insane on that end of the floor
If he played enough games would’ve been a lock
HERB JONES MENTIONED FOR DPOY!!!! ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
I'm a giant Chet fan, but IMO he's not a true rookie. His rehab and training for his second season was NBA level. Considering his injury wasn't super serious, that gives him a big advantage.
jokic leads in every advanced stat, has the nuggets in the 1 seed, hes more efficient than luka and has a significantly lower usage rate, and the nuggets have been at the top all year whereas the mavs have only been climbing post trade-deadline. jokic is the mvp.
Well said. Joker is the MVP.
D. White was All Defensive 2nd Team last year but he is All Defensive 1st Team this year. Always makes the right decisions defensively and leads all Guards in Blocks across the NBA by far.
Bron in his 57th season had me dead 🤣😂
MIP is definitely Coby White, full stop. He has his sh*t together, speaks professionally, is a Christian and improved his play in points (+10) and assists (+2.5).
The Mavs have wayyyy more games missed from injury than the nuggets have! Luka is The Real MVP here
Nic Claxton as a DPOY needs to be in the conversation too. This season and last he was amazing around the rim.
The simple fact that you showed love to Herb Jones for DPOY tells me he's otw to greatness. 💯💪🏿
I would go with Chet H. for ROY. I just cannot crown a guy Rookie of the Year, however immensely talented, whose team finishes with 22 wins the season before he gets there and then another 22 wins the next year when he plays. Think you need to show some team impact but he is still going to win it. He has a great career ahead of him for sure.
You’re crazy bruh . Luka is better than jokic not even close
imagine getting DPOY award while the highlight of your season is being chocked by Draymond
you mean choked?
@@donnydogpiss4533 at least i'm not editing my mistakes XD
Dont ruin wembys ONLY chance of getting dpoy as a rookie and make history. Every individual stat tells you wemby should be the dpoy. He should not be punished for something thats out of his control if this was a fair vote
i had no problems with this video except for you saying Jokic for MVP. This is a good take but personally I think Luka deserves it. Also I think Keyonte Geroge should make an all rookie team. He has been great. Love the videos man
No mention of Bobby Portis for 6 man is crazy
Saying you're a biased OKC fan and yet not putting Shai on an all-defensive team, even though he's leading the league in steals and has some of the most blocks by a guard this season, is just absolutely wild to me. Pretty sure MJ was DPOY for doing the same thing (albeit on a more MJ level).
Who I Think Should Win:
MVP: Luka Doncic
MIP: Jalen Williams
6Man: Malik Monk
DPOY: Rudy Gobert
ROTY: Victor Wembamyama
COTY: Mark Daignault
CPOTY: Kyrie Irving
Luka baby goat
🔥🔥🗣️🐐🐐
Jamal missed exactly 1 more game than Kyrie. Dallas had the 2nd most injured team in the league next to Memphis. Also… what if joker finishes at the 3rd seed? 😂
Clutch player is definitely on the clutch team of the year …. It’s kyrie‼️
Denver are only 6 games of Dallas. wtf are people talking about, the standings aren’t that big of a gap. What’s a big gap is 34 ppg and 26 ppg. People always bring up advance analytics because people are just reaching for things to further their agenda. When you look at raw stats luka is the leading scorer, second in Assists. Luka will win the scoring title. Luka has generated the most points from scoring and assists in nba history. Luka will have a top 20 scoring season in nba history. No one in nba history has had a 34/10/9 stat line. People need to stop talking about these advance stats mumbo jumbo, luka is breaking real all time great stats. Luka is the mvp.
Joel is a fraud in play offs
😮
wow what an original thought!!
57th season! 🤣🤣🤣
Bro is telling me suns have 2 all nba players and are in the play in? But Tyrese Maxey can’t make it? Has KD really been better than Maxey? Embiid missed over 40 games so?? Come on Cone
kinda doubted? yall were hating
It’s just kinda funny that no one watches both of their games and try to throw the other player down. Luka is bottom 10 in plus minus difference. That means when he is off the court his team relatively does the same. Jokic is number one is plus minus difference. His team drops around 20 points when he is off the court. They would be around the 10th seed this season if Jokic wasn’t on the team.
The loss difference between the 1st and 5th is only 6 games. Luka is the mvp. If jokic can win in 2022 and Westbrook in 2017 as 6th seeds then Luka clears already.
i think most ppl underestimate sga defence a bit, he should make one of the all def teams
Rudy has help on the team defensively it’s not only him. Victor has none. DPOY isn’t determined on wins but the impact you make on the team defensively . And your defensive stats. Victor has him beat blocks and steals. With playing under rookie minutes. Only thing you can say is perimeter defense. But really I think they are similar considering Wembys wingspan. He can get there if he wanted to. Rudy might win but it’ll be a snub. But Luka is getting that MVP. Most lineup changes in the league. Kyrie being out. And having better stats than everyone scoring wise. 2nd is assists. And averaging 8 to 9 rebounds. Went from 9seed to 5th. Can’t get any better than that. And honestly it looks better when I guard does it compared to a Center. lol that’s just me. We have had a lot of Center PF MVPs. Here lately time to switch it up.
🔥🔥
My only thing I will say is the wolves net rating is the 106 w/ Rudy and 107 without. His stats are not the best of his DPOY years in past.
Well i think Jokic just sealed the deal with 40 point game against DPOY and great defensive team in general in direct battle for #1 seed. Not that Luka doesn't deserve it, it's just that games like this, this late in a season have some weight in a close race like this.
Crazy 12 of the 15 r from the western conference
Cam Thomas should win MIP (If he can get to the 65 game mark).
where is cam whitmore in all rookie teams?
Cam Thomas MIP, he shouldn't necessarily win it but he deserves to be in the conversation.

Luka's team has won more games this season than Jokic's team did in either of his MVP seasons, and the West is even tougher this season. Not that Jokic isn't also worthy, but it will be a disgrace if Luka doesn't win it this season. Too many things in Luka's favor imo.
For me Luka is the MVP but otherwise i agree with most of the takes.
the gap between those seedings aka 5-6 games i think this year the seedings matter the least of any other season and we had 6 seed winners in the past. at this point every content creator and journalist is just trying to justify their snub of Lukas MVP
Malik monk, +8 plus minus, Norman Powell, +238(?). Naz Reid, 256! 2. 5. 6.
KAT/Rudy should also be in one of the All-NBA teams… best team in the west they can’t just have 1 player
They can. Same way the Nuggets only had one last season as the 1st seed.
There is nothing that jokic has over Luka. Just give it to the Nuggets while you’re at it, cause that’s the only thing propping him up
Is this Kellham from Connor 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Luka is the clear MVP this year.
Here are my picks, prior to seeing yours, Cone (since you asked haha)

Trying to use Murray as a reason why Jokic should win when Denvers best starting 5 has over 800min together this season and thr Mavs best rotation has only played a little over 100 min together. The Mavs have literally been one of the most injured teams in the league. Get that bullshit tf outta here Three Cone.
