I know that a lot of you don’t speak Icelandic and can’t understand what the lyrics are about, so I’ll put in this description from the songwriter
During the winter months in Iceland we loose alot of daylight. Days get darker and longer and in the darkest winter months we only get sunlight a small part of the day. But from around December 20th the sun starts to come earlier and set later each day. We have the saying for this period for the sun as being "með hækkandi sól" that could translate to "with the sun getting higher each day".
Originally it was written as a point of view from a 18th or 19th century icelandic woman who was in 'Vistarband'. The Icelandic vistarband was a requirement that all landless people be employed on a farm. Poor people did not really have any control of their lives and were forced to work for others and live under their rule. But the lyrics can also be related to anyone in many and all sorts of situations. Seeing some hope with the sun getting higher and days getting warmer.

Came back here to say congratulations on winning the national final. This song was my favorite from the very start but I was kinda hopeless about their winning chance based on the odds. However here we are and we have this beautiful song in Eurovision. Despite the results at Eurovision, I will keep listening to this song for a long long time. Iceland has always been one of my favorite countries at Eurovision, and they were my winners in 2016 and 2019.

I may not understand the lyrics but I think its a really beautiful song and they sound so good together, it has a vibe, love the atmosphere they create.
I listened to all of the songs (except for the two who want to show up late at the party) and this stands out the most. Great theme (hope, dark vs light) that resonates with all of us (especially these days), great voices, a unique blend of folk and pop and I don't know what. Simplicity at its finest. A big wow.

For me this is the best song of Söngvakeppnin 2022. It's a good vibe and it's kinda of a mix between Enya, Lana Del Rey and folk. I really loved it.

They sound so good live, its almost like the studio version. I love how their voices compliment each other as well as the song. I also find it great that they keep the song in icelandic, as its a beautiful language and gives the contest more diversity. Plus the song title of their song would fit to the eurovision stage so much, if you dont know what i mean with that, just translate the song title and take a look on the official esc 2022 stage.
