Never really thought about it, but bug type works quite well for a fourth starter, it's weak against fire and strong against grass, and neutral to water. Particularly works in Gen 1, weak to Charizard's flying and fire, and strong against Venusaur's Grass and Poison (under the Gen 1 match-ups)

Not really. It makes the bug type balanced, but it unbalances the other types. grass has two weaknesses and fire has two strengths. It would be better for the fourth type to be normal. It would have no weaknesses and no strengths.

@@samuelsoliday4381As in, weak against both fire and water (not "weak to," as that's only fire. I'm getting at steel is not very effective against water or fire), while normal damage against, but strong to, grass (grass isn't very effective against steel). Honestly, steel strengthens both fire and water while making grass weaker, so yeah, too much imbalance.

Jestibear gives me life. Also Gen 9 DID actually introduced a move that is just telling a bad joke--Chilly Reception--so that's even more fitting.
For a signature move i could see one combining the effects of Follow Me and Recover--putting itself in the center of attention then eat the food they throw at it, making it be a bulky support Pokémon.

I was thinking of a new move for it "comedic flop" it would work like magnatude, since you never know how a joke will land. A magnatude 10 would deal 100 damage to the opponent (emotional damage) and a magnatude 1 would heal 100hp (from the berries thrown for its bad joke) every magnatude in between would do a combination of healing and damage so a magnatude 5 would be base power 50 and heal 50hp.

For Cowly, I feel like it could've also been a Necromancer class, which is typically reserved as a class for dark or evil characters in RPGs, often times the main antagonist, so it'd be capable of raising onstructs made from clay and sediment, and infused with the souls that it steals away from other Pokemon it defeats, which would play into its signature move Horde Rush, a ghost type move that summons a substitute to protect it on the first turn, and if the substitute is not broken by an attack, on the second turn it will deal damage to the opponent, dealing more damage based on how many Pokemon are left still able to battle on your opponent's team, as well as dealing less damage based on how much damage the substitute took without breaking

Like a cute looking two stage dragon type gaining the fairy type.

  • @Ptollemios
    @Ptollemios Před 11 měsíci +7

The second gen pokemon being a dinosaur gave me an idea.
It'd be cool if there was a generation of Pokemon where the starters you choose from are actually "Fossil Pokemon" right? But instead of having the second typing of Rock like all fossils do, they were able to "improve the process" of reviving fossil pokemon and they were able to keep their "original typings".
This is cool for three reasons:
    1. Its a unique experience to say you're starting with a fossil type pokemon. Perhaps you are given a temporary pokemon to help protect you while helping a professor try to recover some fossils, whatever the region's basic bird or rodent pokemon is. Then once you get those fossils the professor allows you to choose one of them to be your starter.
    2. This opens them up for doing variants of all the fossil pokemon. "True species" or something idk. And then if they wanted they could open it up to player preference whether they want pokemon to keep their rock typing or not in future games maybe.
    3. It could be a cool tie in with pokemon Scarlet and Violet, basically implying that the tech that was created by the professor of those games was repurposed for fossil revival.

For Jestibear, I think it's signature move could also work similar to Bug Bite. If the enemy has a held berry, Jestibear gets that berry thrown at it instead and takes its effect, for example, a thrown Cheri Berry would cure its paralysis if it was able to move through it or a thrown Chesto Berry wakes it up if the move was called via Sleep Talk. Also I wanna assume it's a Psychic-Type move as that seems appropriate. My D&D group always joke that bad puns deal Psychic Damage.

Fair, but I think the wild card type allows for the most creativity as opposed to being locked into one type. A lot of these bonus concepts rely on diverse typings. Its Quad weak to Emboar, but also weak to other Fighting and Fire types, as well as weak to Ground types. In Unova, being weak to Fighting and Ground at the same time is detrimental, due to the majority of the FIghting and Ground mons in the game.
So not many people are gonna use it regardless because of that... Lillipup line is way better to use overall (Its only weakness being Fighting and its not even a quad weaknesses. So a Doggo starter is gonna overshadow Lillipup line due to it being a starter, which leads to Lillipup not getting a fair chance making it absolete.

For Galar, why not base the 4th starter off of Rowan Atkinson? Possible typings:
    - Electric due to the two scenes in Mr. Bean where his mere presence caused TV Static
    - Grass because, well, Mr. BEAN. Need I say more?
    - Bug in honor of Man Vs Bee, and Mr. Bean's encounter with that bee

A custom ability for the Ramsey lion could be: Whenever this pokemon is damaged by a fire move, it heals all status conditions.
Basically, if food is cooked properly, it becomes safe to eat. Not sure what to call it. Maybe "Maillard".
It's a more versatile version of Well Baked Body. Though, it could get that also.
Alternatively it could have "Deglaze", which is the same as "Maillard", but for water type attacks.

To be clear, I'm using ChatGPT for punctuation. Any facts I state, I know; I'm just bad with punctuation. Sigh.
But where, yes, volcanoes didn't help anything. Most of the earthquakes and volcanic eruptions were caused by, well, the meteor. After the meteor hit, all the debris that got ejected into space came back down into Earth's atmosphere, heating the Earth's surface to be around the same temperature as a gas oven for a couple of hours. So, no, a volcano didn't cause the extinction and the end of the era of the dinosaurs, my dude. If you want to cite the Jurassic extinction event, unlike most mass extinctions throughout history, the Jurassic one is still kind of up for speculation. Yes, there was increased volcanic activity, but also a meteor or comet hit Earth in that era too. Unlike the Cretaceous mass extinction, the Jurassic mass extinction event was multiple smaller extinctions that took place close together. As for the Triassic mass extinction, that had really little effect on the dinosaurs sense they first appeared in the fossil record around then. Now, it did have an effect on the overarching archosaurs and ether animals, but, yeah. If you want to know what archosaurs are (for those that don't know), it's the family of the dinosaurs and the surviving dinosaurs' avians, but also extinct and modern crocodilians like crocodiles, alligators, caimans, and gharial. For those wondering about lizards and snakes, they are also related to the archosaurs but in the morph Clade Archosauromorpha. Snakes and lizards broke off into the other archosauromorph, forming Lepidosauromorpha, which is made up of extinct species but two groups survived: Rhynchocephalia and Squamata. Rhynchocephalia has only one surviving species, the New Zealand tuataras. The Squamata are snakes and lizards, but back to the Archosauria. If you were wondering if pterosaurs/Pterosauromorpha are part of Archosauria, you are correct. To be exact, they are part of the Ornithodira subgroup of the clade Avemetatarsalia, of which Dinosauromorpha/dinosaurs are a part. I love dinosaurs and stuff like this about prehistoric stuff. For those wondering, I learned this when I was around 5-7ish. By the way, if someone wants to know about marine reptiles like the pliosaurs or plesiosaurs, they are not closely related to the archosaurs. Though a marine reptile, to be clear, Mosasaurus itself isn't closely related to other marine reptiles like the pliosaurs or plesiosaurs. The pliosaurs and plesiosaurs are part of Sauropterygians. To put it shortly, archosaurs and Sauropterygians are only related together under the class Reptilia. As for mosasaurs, they are part of the archosaurs, and their closest relatives are lizards in the order Squamata.

The "bullets" used by the British were called musket balls, they had been in use long before the American Revolution. The Spanish conquistadors used them when they landed in the Americas in the 1500s. So no, the Redcoats weren't among the first to use them.

if I had a nickle for every what if there was a fourth starter pokemon from Sinnoh being an Electric type Goat based on Thor I'd have 2 nickles, which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice.
This is a reference to the 4th starter vids by HoopsAndHipHop, he did Sinnoh about what 9 months ago? He also had a Thor Goat to go with the Sinnoh Trio.

answering how the goat was climbing that hill is because goats have adaptates his paws to climb areas that no natural predator could climb or go to a plant that normally wouldn´t hit and it hook like a hike tool wich is why goats can climb areas that would be impossible to us humans

For kabu, I have the ability name cook it. Ability is something like when foe pokemon try to use the berry ,kabu steal it and hold it and increasing berry power like if berry heal then it will heal 1.5x or if berry remove specific static condition it will remove any static condition on user pokemon. But this ability can only use 1-2 times only.
