Sounded way more like something I dig than I was expecting
The reason I bought a tiny head , because I run a dsl 40 1x12 combo int a 4x12 , and the I use the 1x12 in the combo I connect it to a mini head so I have two amps , and 5x12 speakers. And I also run a wet/dry like that for a budget
Love mine... and that's coming from a purist tube snob. I think the Bogner is the best of the 4, it's the best sounding and the most versatile. The Variac switch is the key 👍
Nowhere near as loud or as good as the mark Tremonti, MT-15 Tube for a little amp !!

That’s true … although I consider them both lunchbox amps one has a tube one doesn’t & one 15 Watts but I will say that MT 15 through 412s in a room with a drum set loud as hell can handle its own compared to my friends little Marshall 30 W amp

The MT-15 is $785 now lol it was like $500 my friend has it I would like to buy it to use in the studio when I jam out I just went up so much in price and I need something around the $500 mark that’s loud enough to play through for 12s in a room with a loud drummer and another guitar player and MT 15 was that… Bogner is nice but for some reason that louder than 15 want tube MT
I have mine to use as a practice amp and it’s great for that. I use it with a 4x12 orange cab. It’s a very simple amp, no option overload. Very easy to dial in a good tone.
I don’t think it’s meant to be a giging amp but for practice, it fills the need. I find that my boss EQ really helps it come to life. I’ve had a bunch of solid state amps as practice amps and I think this has one of the better tones.
It is pretty much like an over sized pedal though
So, even though this may not be what I prefer, I do think this could be just right for some. It really depends on your budget. It is a competing "mini" amp. As always, great analysis Kyle.
I use boss eq pedal in the loop to cut a bit of 800 Hz and to bump 60 Hz. This modify the midrange thing and gives tight yet full sound (mid and bass at noon on amp).
It sounded sick dude. I definitely prefer it with a 10 band, you can really sculpt the low end. Without it gets kinda.... wompy. There's probably a better word for it that I would use if I were a perfeshinal.

Throw in an eq and the thing is a beast. I prefer mine over the Marshall's I've tried

I dig the mini amps. That amp reminds me of my old Bogner with a slight woofy action. I used an eq with it and that worked out.

You should have tried a guitar with some emgs or some blackouts. Fishmans have this shrill sound to them which always makes my amps sound like crap even after dialing the amp in.

I had the ecstasy red pedal. I did not find a low gain on it i found a dirty sound i liked but i ultimately sold it. Idk if this is comparable to the red or the blue or none. I use 4×10 so i set my amps "thicker" i feel one of these could be a good bedroom amp
The Bogner is the best one but just not enough gain without pedals and not my personal flavor of tone. I like all in one heads

Sounds like a Bogner circuit with a little extra high end hair, like the Ecstasy but with exaggerated gain saquration characteristics. Meh. I don't hate it but don't particularly love it either. The OG Ecstasy is better, not surprisingly. Still if I were given this or bought it and played with various guitars/pedals I could get it sounding more to my liking.
It amazes me the hate these amps provoke in people. It’s also baffling that people can look at these and expect anything more than a practice/bedroom amp . Dave was straight up about these , explaining that they’re just the pedal versions of the real thing with a class D power amp. They were never meant for a band setting and to expect them to sound like the full size tube amp versions is delusional at best. People look for anything to bitch about. How could you possibly expect a $200 solid state amp to sound like and keep up with these boutique brand flagship amps with their $3k-5k price tags? Like I said, delusional.
You mean it's not as good as a Soldano SLO 100 head??? But I ewad in the comments where people said they added a pedal or a certain speaker cab or emulator and made it sound even better!!! Some of these guys even said that I'm an idiot for spending over a grand for any amp! You mean they're delusional morons that can't afford a good amp and just started they're self-taught journey into future fame and fortune? Whew, I feel better now 🤣

@@MotoRiff77 when KB here compared all the SLO gains he had on hand last week the pedal outperformed the mini head. I had the Friedman and SLO minis and ended up selling both but that was personal taste more than anything.
Anyway, if you're SLO-curious you'd probably have a better time with the pedal through your 6505 and selling at a slight loss soon if you don't love it. Whatever you do have fun and wash your hands.

Maybe it's just me, but I seem to hear some weird artifacts in the treble ranges that just feel hairy. I could be imagining things.
Im 7 minutes in and I am not a fan. The presence and the highs seem to have to be pushed, which does not leave much room. I will continue watching now.
The Mid Freq on low sounds a little tighter. But still a little subdued.The High setting on the Mid Freq. does not really help a lot. Still sounds a bit dead. The highs are a bit more prevalent tho. The chugs are still subdued. (12:10) Nothing close to in your face. So far nothing really screams. As a stand alone mini amp, I would not buy it or use it. At $250 there are better options. Especially in the pedal market. Bogner is a great buy for beginners, but for those of us that have played for a few or more years, the Bogner Mini Ecstasy is something we would either sell, or never use. My thoughts. Good day!!!

personally I don't like any of the minis. they all sound like crappy solid state amps to me. have to tweak a ton just to get average. i think they're all name and size. the katana, however, for around the same price, used, you can get actual usable tones. just my 2 cents for what its worth
Boss Katana head is the best value. I think Kyle is scared of the Katana. He would have to load ToneStudio software to properly use it. Kyle is a knob-fiddler.

I'd rather have an old Marshall LEAD15 mini head. I had one once with both speakers (slant/straight) for a sweet little mini stack!
The head sounded great on top a 4x12, and it's line out was great going direct with an IR loader.

Unfortunately, once I was super hard up on cash between jobs, and I sold it to my BF for the sick same price with fully agreed upon intentions of buying it back ASAP.
Welp, he ended up moving and freakin sold it. I think he almost got $500 for it.

i have and older mg15, not the same amp but similar. with the di out with a good ir it sounds very good and in honesty better tahn this bogner in this video
@@brozio77 The MG series was a bit of a step down QC wise from the 80's Lead 12 and Lead 15 models IMO, but nonetheless damn useful solid state amps for any "bedroom recording" enthusiast. I've also found that, within the ultra low/baritone context? Solid state amps like those old Marshalls or even a small bass combo fair considerably better than say a comparable tube amp equivalent IMO. Traditional tube amps seem to fart out and struggle in the lower mids when tuning to B or A standard & below. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I hate these things ...according to Dave Friedman these are simply the same circuit as the pedals. They have a cheap type D amp in them.They are only for the desperate. Even if you play in a garage band you are likely to get drowned out are have no headroom for any tone. And then you need a speaker. For basically the same price you could get the same sound from their pedal. Then you get $100 Fender practice amp that actually has a speaker too. Then you have a nice pedal to use with a real amp and a quite passable practice amp. Add to that both are much more resealable.
these micro amps are also going over my head, too. I just don't understand the appeal consider the additional need of a speaker cabinet. I think they're primarily for bedroom guitarists going straight into a computer and have no care in the world for room acoustics.
