This, to me, is about the show itself. The show is the dimmies, I'm Ray and people I recommend the show to are Freddy. They're not interested at first, but when they try it they can't believe how good it is.
Dude, this show has everything. The writing is so good. And the acting is superb. How is this so unknown is beyond me. There are surely hardcore fans out there, but I never heard of this until I got some clips recommended on CZcams. What a great show.
For those confused by this scene or the concept of Dimmies - "Dimmies" or "Dim Sim" are an Australian fast food interpretation of a type of Chinese "Dim Sum" steamed snack which are close to what would be known in most Cantonese restaurants as "Sui Mai": Steamed pork and shrimp with mushrooms, spring onions and chicken broth, sometimes garnished with Crab roe or a pea, all wrapped in a delicate open dough cup. Dimmies are usually steamed and then flash fried and left in a display case all afternoon where they can get quite dry or very sweaty depending on temperature, humidity, and busyness of the takeaway or petrol station serving them. In this scene, Ray is not in fact eating Dimmies, he is eating Dumplings which are also a type of Dim Sum, but are not Dim Sim or "Dimmies", they look more like Jiaozi or Japanese Gyoza dumplings.
Narrator: "Little did Ray know at the time that Freddy was actually a dimmies connoisseur but had also mastered the art of scoring one or more free dimmies from unsuspecting company. By mastering the art of feigned ignorance plus revulsion, Freddy could ensure a few tasty morsels free of charge and of begging at nearly every such encounter. He also found the combination modestly successful for second date BJ's. Just Saying. Stay tuned for more Mr InSomeDimSum."
Classic show , no that's wrong , an absolute Colossus of show, one of the best TV shows ever , the acting the heartbreaking story lines, the realism , the superb acting , tremendous show
This scene is a metaphor for trying to get your mates to watch the show.

It never ceases to weird me out, seeing Dewey Crowe speaking with an Australian accent. 😂
MR INBETWEEN IS THE BEST UNKNOWN SHOW OUT THERE.
The best dimmies are found at petrol stations at 11pm ... sitting all day cooking waiting for a home.
Are they talking about pot stickers?
They needed to make 10 more seasons of this show lol the best show 💯💯💯
Funny thing is, he's not even eating Dim Sims, he's eating Jiaozi, the Chinese version of Gyoza... LOL

Mr Inbetween is the best Aussie TV series I've ever seen, and I'm 52. Scott Ryan is such a refreshing actor as Ray.
Such wholesomeness!
Dewy Crow is hilarious in this clip. 😂😂😂😂
You're not a Melbournian if you don't like a Dimmy.
Please consider continuing the series!
Outstanding show, best Australian TV ever.
