Caitlin Clark smashes the NCAA Women's Basketball scoring record in front of a sell out crowd at Carver-Hawkeye Arena at the University of Iowa. The Hawkeye's standout breaks the record in typical Clark style, a deep 3-pointer.

Everyone goes nuts... except Caitlin. Brief celebration, then back on defense. Goes on to score a personal-best 49 points.
    Her focus is unreal.

Everybody relax. Deep breath, or say a prayer. Records get broken all the time. No need to be hatin'. Doesn't diminish your favorite player one bit.

It's not that someone is breaking a record.
It's that a woman is. And we need to stop pretending its anything other than that.

Yup, Woodard was great but she'll have that record before the end of the regular season. And I'm sorry but Pearl Moore's D2 stats include junior college (a simple search is allot takes). It's not legit. Apples and oranges. Woodard was legit. And don't talk about 3s because every player and record needs an asterisk then. Pistol Pete set his record because his dad was the coach and college basketball (especially in Louisiana) in 1967 was barely integrated. Just look at his team pic. Where is his asterisk?

@@Joe-ny2up Pete shot 38 times per game. He took 650 more shots than Clark to get 100 more points. Even allowing him 3's she is a more efficient shooter. Her percentages are higher.

Pate did took More shot a game then Caitlin. That why pete Ave 44 points a game. If Caitlin Clark have taken the same amout shots a game as pete. Caitlin Clark would ave 50 points a game. If Caitlin Clark wanted to,she could have ave 50 points a game. Thing is Caitlin Clark is a team player that don't want take alot of shots and she want get her teammates involved in shooting and making points for the team.

Woodard's points average was 2 points lower than Clark. That's significant at the top scoring level. She beats Lebron by a point and Kobe by 3. Down to Jordan by 2.

Pearl Moore played at a lower level and her stats do in fact include junior college. Much respect, but you have to draw the line somewhere. Example...Ichiro has more hits than Pete Rose if you include his Japan League stats, but Rose has more if you include his minor league stats. What about high school stats? I'm sorry but there is a logical dividing line. Pearl Moore was 5'6 and her highlights on CZcams look like gym class. Lynnette Woodard would have destroyed her. Trust me. That's why Lynette played at Kansas and with the Globetrotters as opposed to some tiny college no one has heard of since yesterday.
