I loved all the displays and the stories behind them. Those Tektronix memory-vector screens were stunning.

The Quantel Paintbox is probably the most iconic 1980s creative computer system. Together with the Fairligt CMI they were used to create the look and sound of the 80s! So nostalgic for those 💜 Plenty of re-creations of the CMI (VSTi plugins, etc.), but I really want a modern re-creation or emulation of the Paintbox too.

There was a Goupil PC XT (Desktop and portable). As for the French Dragon, all they needed to change was the a ROM for the BASIC/OS and another with the French characters. Secam (French TV standard) is very similar to PAL but with an AM sound carrier rather than FM on PAL. I used to work in a UK computer shop from 1979-1992.
