    I bought two of these as Funai about 1995 from I believe Target. As Scotty Kilmer would say, if he were to work on these things, "Rolling piles of crap". Both quit working in less than two years. I was the general manager of a commercial electronics sales and service company at the time, showed them to my service manager, and he said to put them into the recycle bin. LOL, I did! Thank You!!

    I have decided to have my Magnavox ZV427MG9 A, repaired by you Sir. I used to work on circuit boards here in USA which were used by US Military. Also cleaning with acetone. My eyes are not so good now, (73yrs). I've taken player apart before I found you on u-tube!😁 but just the cover...it ate a movie tape first. Finally removed tape.
    Tried to play DVD, but it would make clicking noises on DVD side, switch back to VCR light on front and shut off.
    I'll contact you👍 Thank You So Much for this sight. 💯☺️
    PS. I just put the cover back on and as I turned it, heard rattling. Opened it back up and some clear piece of plastic fell out??

    Nice job tracing! I think the customer made the right choice doing the full Monty. Now they'll be able transfer VCR's to disc, then digitize to a codec format of they're choice and they'll never lose anymore video integrity from tape degradation, in addition to enjoying the videos (on anything device) and sharing with family & friends. Very smart...

    I am always surprised how high is the ESR of such SMD capacitors
    , even new and good brand, I compare with new ones from
    quality and it is not always better then I leave them in place, I
    unsolder with two sharp soldering irons.

    Which dielectric grease do you use?

    • @norcal715
      @norcal715  Před 3 lety +1

      Just go to your auto parts store and ask for dielectric grease, usually they sell it in the little pouch or you can get in a toothpaste tube also.
