Never played the original, but all this coverage has convinced me to finally do it

I'm worried that original DS will remain better, a lot of that feel beause ""remake" made by Motive (ye, glolrious Anthem crash). Many elements on "remaked" suit, deleted personal card from suit. And scenes & characters, they changed significantly
Play the original, it's cheap, you can find it anywhere, and you're only doing yourself a disservice if you don't.
@@TheM9lta the same happened with Metro and Metro Redux. Redux added a lot of quality of life changes from Last Light to the original, which were really really great, but the updated "atmosphere" was too bright. The visuals were better but the dark and sinister surrounding was gone. Dark ruins, corridors, the world above and the metro all around lacked the darkish tones in the scenery. It's not bad but a different experience. Dead Space could be going the same path.
Play the originals honestly they still hold up to this day. Seriously. As for the remake personally I'm cautiously optimistic just like in the movie franchises very few remakes can stand up too or even surpass the original.
It would be cool to see a lot of these concept arts for Isaac's armor designs, be it old or new, be brought into the game as skins of sort. Some of those concepts look really cool.
Loving the IGN First Dead Space Remake coverage, Issac’s suit is so iconic, always loved the helmet visor 👏👏👏
Especially how it glows and gives off ambient light in the darkened corridors as you stalk through them.

@@juancr4713 Nah it really isn't. Dead Space 3 has a fair number of interesting story and world building ideas that can be salvaged and made better in a completely redone version of Dead Space 3. The game isn't *_entirely_* rotten to the core.

Interesting that they went with the direction of not having the folding helmets from 2 and 3. Even though in 3 it made no sense.
Indeed, many of the Dead Space 3 suits are supposed to designs centuries old, so them having the retracting helmets makes no sense, unless they just wanted to truly retcon Dead Space out of the helmet continuity.

Elite, Tank, Obsidian and Scorpion suit were awesome and the heavy plasma cutter is 🐐
well, there are three different unique suits: Infected, Lone Survivor, and Venture and few suit textures.
Lol, if anything, they will be taking away the suits we already had.
The military suit will probably be DLC.
Those suits were specifically for the PS3. For PC we didn't get those.

Was hoping the remaster would also go into detail for making the helmet retractable, always found that part of the identity for Dead Space suits as it was so satisfying to watch and badass instead of just taking the helmet off.
The retractable helmets were only introduced in Dead Space 2.

not a huge fan of the new level one suit. They just slapped the level 3 helmet on and got rid of the unique one

Very interesting video, ruined by the choice of putting the quotes right on top of the images for so long all the time. blocking our view. We want to hear (and/or read) the quotes while looking at the video (especially since the whole point is to explain the design of the suit). It would have worked better if the text was on transparent background and more to the bottom or the sides. Thanks.

one thing im not liking is how natural isaac looks, he doesn't look scared, tired or fatigued with bags under his eyes with sheer terror in the original
Can we see the regenerator? Is he in the game?...
Considering this is a REMAKE, and the Regenerator is in the original, it will more than likely be in the remake. Considering the enemy is tied to the plot where Mercer pretty much "allowed" it to let loose on Isaac.
It would not be dead space without the regenerator

Highly likely if New Game Plus is still a thing in the Remake version. The Advanced Soldier RIG was a reward for beating the game on any difficulty.

That is when he meets hammond in the bridge, not the poison area.
This scene is Issac walking around in the escape pod room near the captain nest in the 4th chapter "Obliteration Imminent". What you are describing is a part of the 6th chapter "Environmental Hazard".
That's later in the game from when this clip takes place.

Because that's exactly who he is. He's not some rugged soldier, he's not a mercenary, or a hitman or some superhero. Isaac is suppose to look like just an average man in his 40's with a normal job as an engineer of planet cracking ships, albeit not of our lifetime, but of the future? It's definitely not too farfetched!
He's a survivor who got lucky and has equipment that just so happens to protect him and help him to kill the necromorph scourge.

@@DV-ou1yu I don't know, he looked pretty average in the original game too. Besides, in the original game you saw his face maybe twice- once in the very beginning and again at the very end.
@PixelFoundry Let me further clarify further. It's not the fact he himself just look generic or average, it's the fact that he and many of the early crew have different faces entirely giving them an even more generic appearance than their previous iterations.
Generic? Isaac is supposed to look like an average joe blue-collar engineer and that is perfectly carried out in the remake.
This game will never reach a score of 9 or 10 with IGN.. this is purely all hype. Expect this game to have bugs just like any normal game.
