The original was stiff enough. However to re-engineer and make it more stiffer simply makes no sense. The whole idea of a custom is that it should mould itself to the rider by giving more comfort, better pickup, handling, breaking etc. If those parameters seem distant, then how long the owner will appreciate the paint job and be happy is debatable.
