You would expect him to notice under normal circumstances being a top mechanic in his own right, but in the heat of a F1 pitstop when not a regular, it was amazing he noticed immediately..
The nut was just tight. Which makes sense from an engineering / first principal perspective. TBF Guy would not understand or see the difference.
They're also modded up more than normal pneumatic guns so it wont sound the same as what he uses in the garage. Good ears
He has very nice team mates, with him.

Love seeing the other crew members encourage Guy and not let him get down on himself. It's a team effort and if one of them is not there mentally then it all goes to hell.

When they were checking up the gear at the start i already felt the immense pressure, these guys are animals.
Mechanic goes through checklist and guy replies "Thanks for your time" what an absolute gentleman

Williams Team a really nice team. Got the chance to watch them construct their pit garages in Monaco. And got a chance to see inside which will never happen to me or most normally.
World class in many areas despite results not being favourable.
It is nice to see the other mechanices talking and complimenting for Guy's work. I mean they dont seen angry that one of the pit stops was abit slow, because of the last minute change to other tires. It also give a good inside on how pit stop working in F1

After that second pitstop, for the first time ever in my life, I heard Guy Martin speak slowly. That really must have had his focus at 150% !!!
this is how awesome and real GUY IS. after the race. the filming was finished. yet he stayed to help the boys disassemble and pack everything away. anyone else would have fucked off home
Now all the way back in the field. Pitcrew has such an important task to fullfill. Change the tyres as quickly as possible. Small change to gain a place. The risk of loosing time. And if the car brakes the nose a lot of work has to be done to replace it.time is still a factor but it has to be done safely. Respect for those guys.

the 1st pitstop wasnt guys fault, the team decided at the last minute to do hard compound tires!! that's why it was slow!!
Well yeah, they mentioned it in this video, but thanks.
It takes a bit of responsibility off his shoulders, but the left rear was still slower going on then any of the other hard compound tyres.

Guy you always look like the happiest person. You do truly love what you do.
I love how the crew was encouraging after mistakes, rather than harsh and hostile. Making someone feel worse when they know they’ve underperformed just doesn’t help anyone. I mean, a double-pit that went slow undoing the nut, and a changer says, “That gun’s slow,” could be comfort or truth, but it doesn’t crush the spirit of anyone.
If Hugh Jackman declines to do future Wolverine movies we have a perfect replacement. He doesn't even need makeup, he's good to go

After this show, I could never see pit stops in the same way again. imagine the adrenaline they must go through! And that's a good 1-3 times per car, per race!
In the middle of all that adrenalin and pressure Guy says to the gun man 'That gun is slow!"

And I loved how one guy asks if Guy has ever raced round Spa and Guy had. Right there was mutual respect from a race mechanic to a racer.

i watched 2017 belgian gp live and david croft on the start was like: IT'S LIGHTS OUT ANDD AWAY WE GO HAMILTON GETS AWAY FOLLOWED BY VETTEL AND VERSTAPPEN
in such a high pressure environment and losing abt 2 secs on the first pitstop...i love how the pit crew were still so supportive and positive with guy.

For Guy who really just likes to do things by himself , or rather be man that will do the job , he is a bit of a loner .
But how so well he fits into a tight team like F1 pit crew , he really enjoyed and got thanks from all members .

Good show. 2+ seconds is 2 blinks of the eye. Drivers and crew have to be spot on. And a impact gun running slow is no help.
