2024 Ep 10 - Searey Seaplane Spirit of Mackenzie - weight and balance

The end is in sight! Ten years in, the build of my experimental seaplane, Spirit of Mackenzie, is coming down to the short strokes. Join me as I check off the dwindling number of tasks on my to-do list, and get, what has been up to this point just a lawn ornament, to the point where it can be called an airplane. 99% done and 1% (or is it 90%?) to go!

wow you are working your way down that list very efficiently, i too had trouble picking a w&b limit seems it has changed quite a bit over the years and different models almost everyone i talked to had different numbers, ie. aft limit anywhere from 99" to 105"

Hi Wayne, I decided to go with the 100" aft limit stated in the Pilot's Operating Handbook for the SeaRey Adventure LSA, the factory version most similar to my home-built LSX. This is staying on the safer side of the envelope, I believe.
