  • This is my journey, from being so excited for the Portal, only to be smacked in the face with the reality! Will I make my way out of the darkness?!

My favorite combo is switchroot on the OG switch with either moonlight streaming from my PC, or xbox app from my series X. About 9-10 msec of latency is totally worth the convenience of streaming to a device I already own. Also, moonlight on the PS Vita is awesome if the game your playing doesn't use the triggers extensively.

Thanks so much for watching! If you are making the choice, the Deck OLED model will do that and much more! You just lose the Dual Sense retention sensation!

@@save-points the Deck Oled is a good device, but the price is double. I don't have much time for pc gaming, and for emulating, I need just a streaming device. But unfortunately, Portal has some issues.

@@save-points and what about resolution? SD does not have 16-9 screen and has only 800p.

@@soldout5918 The Steam Deck is a much better choice. I dock my Steam Deck to my tv in my bedroom and I can remote play my PS5 in 1080p using Chiaki. It works so well I completely forget I'm streaming. The Steam Deck is a full computer, not just a console or even a remote play device for only $150 more than the Portal. What you get for the price.... it's just incredible with the Steam Deck. Oh yeah and I use a Dual Sense controller with the Steam Deck when I dock it so it's just like using my PS5 in the living room. Chiaki sends through the Dual Sense functions. I don't know what magic Chiaki uses but it runs better than both the official PS Remote Play app from the app store or the windows PS Remote program.

The Portal can't sustain the higher resolution anyway due to the weaker network protocol. The SD does so well with stability that even slightly lower resolution looks fantastic without any artifacting or banding on the signal with Chiaki!

Thanks for watching! I have to say I do miss the "retention sensation" triggers and awesome haptic feedback from the Portal, but the signal quality and HDR screen truly make the switch to the Steam Deck worth it!

Mine has worked flawlessly with no noticeable issues. Same as playing in my monitor. Don’t even have any real input lag
