I know exactly how that young New Jersey officer felt. I was out kayaking and saw what I thought was someone drowning near a small, inexpensive kayak... it turned out that kayak was tethered to a mooring bouy, but from 300 feet away in rough water, it looked just like a person's head struggling to stay afloat. I very nearly hit 10 mph in my 17-foot sea kayak on that 100-yard dash. I've never gone that fast again, not even surfing a ship's wake. That feeling of "TOO LATE" is not fun.
My experience was a false one, but this young officer literally saved a man's life, and saved those trainmen from a lifetime of guilt and anguish. What a start to a career!!!

Wow that cop that jumped in the water and saved the guy who got sucked in is truly a hero. That's the kind of officers I want in my town. He didn't even think twice he just jumped right in knowing it could easily do the same to him and sounds like it did but luckily they were able to break free from the current. That officer should have been given some sort of an award from the town/police. Some people would say of he's supposed to do that but they would be the last person to have jumped in to try and help. They would pull out there phone not to call for help but to make a video lol smh.
The fact he was THERE to see it happen! Guy had a guardian angel.
It’s alright saying he didn’t give it a second thought as long as you know your weaknesses and strengths before you go. I jumped off a pier to swim out to a little girl drifting towards Falmouth from Looe😂 and near killed us both 😂 I’m not a strong swimmer. Anyway I got her and brought her back. Then went home and died 😅😅

The guy who fell asleep on the train tracks. Was he really so drunk he passed out ON the train tracks or was he attempting the forever sleep? If it was the latter then hopefully the effort that officer made to rescue him was enough to show him that there are people who care whether he lives or dies.

That last video, sheesh! Can you imagine just how lucky the firefighters were to be at the right place to not be catastrophically affected by the explosion?

I been drunk many times but still never put the rail tracks on my good place to lay my eyes list.
That train video at Perth Amboy was one of the more insane thinngs I've seen. Thank heavens for the *crew* that they saw the guy sleeping on the tracks and managed to slow the train in time for him to wake up and run. Trains don't stop on a dime, even when they're a short passenger like the Amtrak Heritage that almost ran him down.
The UK railroaders have a rather bleak saying: "You haven't truly become a driver until you kill someone with your train." Those crews are pretty heavily traumatized when they run someone down like that, even when they were being complete idiots like the dude passed out on the tracks. Remember those trains are driven by human beings and they really do NOT want to maim or kill someone with their vehicle. Don't mess around on train tracks!
Figure it was a station stop anyways, so wasn’t running line speed. And with air in the brakes already, cuts response time a bit. Still good eyes (though seeing the officer running straight at them would also be a hint)
@@jaysmith1408 Still surprises me that they saw the officer and hit the brakes so fast. Normally, railroad officers are equipped with red flags, and that's what crews are trained to respond to indicate an emergency ahead on the tracks. I don't think this officer worked for the railroad, though, and there was no time to do anything else. Very sharp eyes on that crew, and it saved the kid's life. If I were Amtrak, I'd have them up for a promotion, award or at least a good bump in their grade. Crew like that are worth encouraging.

@@Vaxedia Ong, the cost to replace the shit, fix the walls, windows. I'm not sure if insurance covers that myself, but if they do, I doubt it'll cover personal belongings, just the window and walls.
At 5:01 a natural problem of sewers has occurred. When the wastewater drains, a negative pressure is created in every wastewater pipe. If this cannot be compensated (e. g. by air supply), then the sewage system will suck everything in through every small opening. This is one of the main reasons for not wanting to cross flooded roads in the first place.

For the firefighters, the husband of one of my mom’s friends died while controlling a fire under a wooden platform. The platform fell on him and he died instantly. Rip and respect to every firefighter and they’re family 👩🚒🕊️❤

In the summer of 2021, I almost lost my mom to drowning. I am so thankful for that off duty police officer and to the people who helped. If it weren't for them, my mom wouldn't be here today.

My aunt was telling me one time a homeless man fell asleep on the tracks at a station and they had to shut down all train traffic in that area because he would not get up. They resorted to physically moving him from the tracks to a nearby bench, all while still asleep.

A drunk fell asleep with a chick on the rail road tracks near were I live. The guy lost his foot while the lady was killed. Dealing with drunks and addicts is a real struggle. From negative behavior to irresponsible behavior. Found 2 bodies, two separate occasions due to OD. All that shit seems to be on the tracks. It's cursed if you ask me. I'm only 20 and I wish I haven't seen that shit.

During I think Hurricane Fredrick or Chamille, can't remember which, a teen walking in the floodwater was sucked into a storm drain. Unfortunately, he didn't pop out like the victims here. His body was recovered days later.
The water storm drain one! I used to work with gasses under pressure. I’ve seen a pipe opened when it was in a full vacuum, so I totally get how scary that was! Wow!

I had a cat and squirrel in my home which reminded me of the griswolds christmas. It wasn't christmas but the darned cat was not helping get the squirrel to go out the door but to climb the drapes and throw itself around the room trying to stay away from the cat.

The incident in Escambia co. Happened a few blocks from me. It was raining bad. They got so lucky the drain didn't have a block in it.
