Personal movie for me. Probably within my top 10 of all time! Can't wait for this.

Criterion had released Raging Bull before, actually. It was on laserdisc

Raging Bull is often called the greatest movie of the 80s. Everybody should watch it at least once, just for it's fight visuals if anything which are unforgettable, and DeNiro's acting.

Is it one of those movies that's a 1 time watch and done? From the clips they showed in this video alone, it honestly looks like a movie I could see several times.

This was a blind buy for me based on the clips. Hope it's a movie I can revisit as well

That backstory might add a bit more sense to why Robert De Niro, outside of being a great actor, would go all in with the physical transformation of the character. I didn’t know it was his passion project and maybe wanted to prove that the film was worth doing. I don’t remember if he got that fat for The Untouchables haha. It’s one 4k disc in a digipack that folds out on all sides with each cardboard piece spelling out R-A-G-I-N-G B-U-L-L.

@@4K_Kings I wish I was. I’m still not sure how the disc will be defective haha. I hope they play the did you fuck my wife scene twice in a row.

Oh man, where do I start? First of all, I listened to the whole podcast with a big ole smile on my face. But I’m watching the CZcams segments to give you the views-and also because I just want more 4K Kings content! I honestly laughed out loud when Russ went on about Twilight Time and their basically erasing their films from existence after the limited run; it honestly doesn’t feel that far from the truth. If you’re a fan of neo noir, I strongly suggest to anyone to pick up Devil in a Blue Dress, even if it’s a blind buy; it really does a lot for the genre that is very rarely discussed in other films of its type. And I’d like to admit that I also often watch my Amazon wish list like it’s the damn stock market but in reverse, hoping to ride that price tag down just as far as it can go, then getting annoyed when I hang on too long and start seeing it tick back up. 🤦‍♂️😂 Really and truly, and not just blowing smoke up your asses, yours has become my favorite channel with regard to physical media news and discussion. Unlike some others which will remain nameless, it never feels like you’re talking down to anyone or having some kind of d**k measuring contest between your collection and everyone else’s; just always feels like I’m listening to two good friends discussing what they love and presenting what they know about it. Can’t wait for the next episode. My one suggestion for a segment would be to pick five films (they don’t have to be ones that have never had a release; you might already even own them) and present your dream release: which studio would put it out, what kind of packaging, and your most desired special feature. Thought that might be a fun discussion. Again, all the best to you two, and keep up the great work!

As always, thank you so much for listening, watching, and speaking with us. This is a special community and it feels great to know we are contributing to that. I love your suggestion. We are always trying to think of new angles of discussion so that our channel doesn't become stale. Talk soon!

Might blind buy Devil in a Blue Dress. Solid cast and that old timey LA noir angle seems solid

It's not a movie I'd recommend to casuals due to it's noir nature and lack of action spectacle, but if that's the angle you're interested in that's what it is. I'd give it an 8, maybe 8.5/10

Never saw Raging Bull, but i’m well aware of what it is & i just don’t think it’s for me.
Devil in the Blue Dress tho 👀 never heard of it, but it sounds like it’s right up my alley. Probably won’t buy a limited edition but i’m definitely adding it to my watchlist.

Pick up "The Irishman," it has Joe Pesci, Robert De Niro, directed by Martin Scorsese.

To be pedantic, "traditional" film noir is in black and white.
