The History of Singapore's Transit Buses Part 1/3 (1973-2001)

I pretty much decided to remake my entire History of Singapore's Transit Buses videos, but this time with better and updated information. This first part will be about the buses that were introduced in the days of Singapore Bus Services (1973) and Trans-Island Bus Services (1982).

Thanks for compiling and uploading this. I remember those old Mercedes and Leyland buses and their engines taking up almost all the front space and the noisy gear changes.

In 1998 The old changi airport but in 2019 LTA wanted to add changi airport skytrains and LTA wanted to put changi airport with 3 peaces of skytrain

These are the buses i like it because,they are cool and i was born in the 2000 but cool bus are cool model 0:18, 0:25 , 0:52 best and at 2:30 that one looks like a Van not even a bus in my opinion, old bus are cool compared to new version bus because new version buses model, are all looks so boring every model looks the same.

Old buses in Singapore in 1985 n above to 2000 more are powerful engine and many seats.why Singapore now thier use all buses shorter n no many space to seat n no more standing the new buses. example Singapore to many people plus foreigner.now some service take too longer waiting the bus.in 1980 so many buses and take less than 10 minute. comfortable the bus coming 2 or 3 bus in one time me so happy.last time the bus driver run away never stop the bus, driver show his hand same service behind.make all pessenger angry but so happy in that time in 1980.last time all the buses Avery time full pessenger n pushing each other at bus stop. mostly when we going to school n go for working in that time this all in memory in my life.

BTW the location of that accident was some place in Yishun

cause it will wear down into a bunch of junk if used for to long,however,the fine pieces will be canibilised to other buses like the engine,

Fun fact did you know all pre-2000 buses was a mess too much were just randomly introduce
Causing them to very prematurely retired
These buses according to the 17Ys life span were meant to stay in service up till 2019 but never reached there.
The main reason: There were just too many buses and model rolled out yet none were improving in terms of size and carbon emission.
Lessons that need to be learnt: NEVER deploy too many buses with little to no improvement.
And please don't waste buses by deploying them on roads and retiring them just 5-10years of deployment.
We should learn from London to keep a streamlined model like the Alexander DD/SD buses and keeping them for as long as possible not wasting money deploying too many models
