  • Sperfishing a #100+ Yellowfin Tuna is a dream for most serious spearfishers around the world. In my life of spearfishing I have to say it is one of the most gratifying and exhilarating "rides" with a lot of luck and dedication involved. The equipment always has to be if not perfect near perfect in every aspect. In this dreamy short video I made it look easy as this one was a fairly easy landing. Conditions were very good, the fish were not attracted by chum, and luckily a #125 tuna attracted by the local bait here off Cabo San Lucas came in for a view. It was on and I played the fish well and in 10 minutes or so had the fish boat side. Thanks to my host Alex I flew back from Mex with flash frozen ahi and dry ice. It was well worth the extra baggage fee!
*Notice our gear is simple, 3-4 band blue-water guns, one 30Liter 2ATM float, 1 100' Bungee or Float line. KISS. Too much extra gear causes tangles and hickups and failures later. If you can dive to 60' and hunt you can land one of these magnificent fish. Call Reef Runner Gear & Dive in Wilmington, NC, to schedule your blue water hunting trip for Wahoo this winter if you like diving in the last real wild environment left on Earth. THANKS FOR SUBSCRIBING TO MY CHANNEL. I love our sport!
