- Why you should buy a WRX over an STI! Last video was an STI over WRX, no it’s switched. I actually prefer the WRX over the STI and here is why
1. MOD MONEY
2. MORE EFFICIENT DAILY
3. POWER EASIER
4. DO NOT TRACK/RACE CAR OFTEN
5. NOT MAIN BUILD

You have done a great job modifying your WRX. Great comparison videos and the information is valuable for those folks deciding between the STI & WRX. God Bless! OG Mike
Thanks a lot man! Always appreciate you supporting as much as you do. Wanted to do a good comparison of the two for those interested. Glad the videos came out well
This is fun .... Especially mimicking the engine sounds .... Salute big man 💪
Thanks a lot man! Always fun with these cars and making car sounds
I own a 2020 wrx and I love it.All the reasons you point out make so much sense!!I am not a big mod guy but i will probably do a couple of things to mine in the near future!!!I love the speed and the agility of mine!!Bought it and never looked back!!Thanks again for your insight 👍
Thanks for watching! i agree and congrats on the new 2020WRX! That is amazing. I appreciate you watching and commenting. I am glad my video helped
Great video, picked up a bugeye wrx and fell in love with the platform. Been debating if I would ever potentially like to get into an sti and your videos do a great job of going over things to consider. Keep up the great work!
That is awesome congrats! Thanks for watching and I am glad my videos help. I just want to give a non biased perspective and highlight the benefits of both. Appreciate compliments and you as well
I just did the same, picked up a bugeye wagon with a JDM engine swap, fun car been looking art newer WRXs since, this video might've change wanting an STI over the WRX, mainly because ill be daily driving it, plus the faster I can get to buying upgrades the better, also to mention saving a bunch on Insuance, I think if I wanted to build a car I don't daily then id go with an STI. Will more then likely own both before its all said and done, dream subies would be to daily a newer WRX and find a STI Hawkeye as a project. Thanks for all the info in this video, never knew the WRX made power easier then the STI, very helpful video
I’ve had a 300whp wrx, and currently have a 560whp sti, so I feel like I can speak on this.. just get the STI. You’re going to Google transmission swap later down the line when you realize your mistake. I promise.
True, STI transmissions are so amazing and dope! But I know I won't be building this car up like that but if you want big power get an STI for sure I agree! Thanks for the comment
300 whp is plenty fun for me not sure if an Sti would be any better if I'm not chasing much power past 350whp. I go back and forth mainly because I don't to trade up and lose what I upgraded on the wrx and have more debt but if the 2022 Sti is worth it then I'll upgrade.
@@Ieatzboltz fair, the new platform is going to be interesting. I’d say this. We have the 2.5 cracked. We know that works and what doesn’t. It depends on what you’re willing to spend at the end. Honestly. I’ll say this, I’ve had 300 on the 2.0, and 600 on a 2.5, and as of right now... the 2.5 with the Sti trans... another level. It’s night and day. I’m just saying. 600whp is more than you would ever need, and I still want more. And I have the chassis/trans to support it. See what im getting at?
@@Ieatzboltz STI is at 350WHP with just fuel injector upgrades pretty much and nothing else.
This is why SubZeru just bought a STI :) WRX are known for glass transmissions. STI is better overall. Only reason to get WRX is it you're on a super tight budget and want to save a little more on gas if you'll be driving long distances. A lot of people I know traded in their WRX for a STI once they realized the truth.
Both great cars, but I feel much more connected to the road in my STI than the WRX I test drove. Love the old school hydraulic steering rack
I agree fully! The feel of the STI is way better then WRX. I agree too. Thanks for watching and commenting
@@redorb6024 no, and I'd probably love it. The new wrx has zero steering feel, but the current sti retained the old school hydraulic steering rack
@@devryndrives6623 New WRX sucks. Wouldn’t trade my 03 for a 2020!
Then there’s the 2015 wrx and it’s the stiffest year of them so all the benefits of the wrx with the closest feel of the sti
@@redorb6024 same about my wrx swapped 01 impreza wagon
I can only imagine the man hours you put into this car, what a beauty.
Thanks so much! Many hours but so worth it
The STI's transmission is worth it too.
I hear ya brother. I own a 2017 WRX and I'm very happy with it. I only put OEM foglights on it and a vortex generator. World rally blue and it drives very good. I can't wait for the new STI in 2022. I have to graduate. Great video and stay safe brother 🙏
Thats awesome and congrats on the car. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel
Currently in an 07 accord auto with the k24a8, it’s a fun platform and I love it to death but it has left me wanting more out of a sedan, ( power, traction, 3 pedals) and I live with snowy mountains all around me from nov-feb, and usually can’t go anywhere in the wintertime as a front wheel drive with chains and only 170hp doesn’t do much to pull its own weight, this video definitely has me inspired to go with a WRX over a STI or BRZ
Awesome and glad video could help! If you had the funds and like the STI that is a excellent choice. If not or want more efficient car with gas and reliable, the 15+WRXs are nice :)
Great video as always.... that vette though... sounded amazing I know u be missing it..can't wait for you to get another. love your canyon runs subie sounds good.. braa braaa let's go.... 👍
Thanks a lot bro! Yeah I did but I want to build another one. Always appreciate the support man a lot. Keep working hard as well
Just by the intro I know damn well you go the extra mile when making a video, and it really shows👌keep it up bro
thanks a lot bro! I really try to make good videos and fun videos. I want others to enjoy the channel and put my effort into doing that. Appreciate the compliments and support
Great video man. I think gas is subjective depending on your commute for work, especially with everyone teleworking. As an STI owner I will hands down admit the FA20 makes power super easy compared to an STI up til 400whp, after that though, both are gonna cost a pretty penny to get power out of and the WRX is limited fuel wise.
Yeah very true! Imo These generation subarus both operate best being under 400hp honestly. I agree with your comment. Thank you for watching!
What do you mean when you say, “limited fuel wise?” I’m about to get a VB
Hey man, great video, I have a question for you. Did every Gen of WRX have a turbo in it ? or its only the STI model ?
Love both cars but ej for me and i currently just bought a 2019 sti. Did soo much research on all wrx/sti and currently subaru was sued for that problem on on the 2012-2017 wrx/sti. The 2019 and 2020 have newer rods and the 4th cylinder is better than the previous ones also short shifter. My plans in the future anyway is to get a built block eventually and my main power goal is 600hp to 650hp. People should understand that buying a performance car requires lots of maintenance and yes i already got a Aos installed for the car also a killer bee oil pan. At the end of the day everyone situation is different . But yea the wrx looking clean 👌
Appreciate the comment! Makes sense, like I said anything over 400 get the STI. I just have no plans on going over 400 simply because I have plans for other builds for that. Respect the comment and thanks for watching
Absolutely agree! Love the ride of WRX as daily
I love this so much haha. I was debating wether I should get a STI or WRX but why spend so much extra money on an STi. Thanks for this video. I love the car btw
Thanks for watching! They both are awesome cars and you will really enjoy them both for sure
Really awesome video! Love all the clips and love the car!
Thanks a lot! Love this car a lot too and got a lot planned soon
Bruh your videos are so good and informative, keep it up
Thanks a lot man! I want to do well in having fun and informative videos. Thank you for watching
Keep up the good videos. Intro was really cool!
Thank you so much! I appreciate it
This came up in my recommended. I have to say, while I agree with some of your points on comfort and mileage, the bulletproof 6 speed and them Brembo's alone are worth the bit extra. I have a 13 STI Sport Tech and while it's rough on our roads (Calgary) and thirsty as hell, I didn't get this car thinking it'll be a quick Camry. I've been modding cars for a while and I've learned from much experience that eventually you'll need to stop quicker and need a trans to hold any serious power. Once you start getting power, even before the brakes and trans, you want it to transmit power to the ground = suspension. You have a beautiful car man, but I would make the same choice again and again. STI all the way. BTW - my love my temperamental EJ257 lol
I agree and feel you! At the time and even now I have a track Corvette so I literally just wanted a daily but didn't want to buy a camry or something HAHAHAHA. But the STIs are another level for sure and performance it isn't even close. Congrats on your car!
Thanks for this video! I’ve been trying to decide between a WRX or STI 😊
You are welcome! Both are amazing cars. If you only going for one car and build I’d go STI :)
I have both. Get a STI. Check out the WRX Channel. He went from a WRX to a STI.

That UEL sound is worth every penny
The UEL do sound really good
Building an 08 WRX now and love it. It's super fun to drive.
That is awesome! Congrats and those are really fun cars to drive
I bought a Limited WRX, this car is my daily. The STI is awesome but super harsh and not as comfortable as the regular WRX. The WRX is still plenty fast and fun while being a solid daily!
That is awesome! Congrats on the purchase and I agree about it being a more comfortable daily. Thank you for the comment and for watching
Keep lying to yourself how sti is less confortable
Love what youve done to your wrx 😍 nice mods love the colour by the way how much would it cost to get that much power ive got an wrx club spec 2012 running 300hp after stage 1 but need that 400hp power man also did you have to swap out your trans?
Thanks for the compliments and comments! I still have the stock trans in the car and I actually made a video breakdown of my mods and pay. I am not fully sure how much it would cost you but there are so many builds they are out there on internet for sure. You have a 2.5L so a little different but congrats on car and thanks for the comment
This is the beset comparison video I’ve see on these! I’m looking to get the new 2022. What kind of engine/bolt on mods did you do to get more power out of it? Thanks!
Thanks for watching! I have a video talking about the mods and price of everything
agreed...ive had my 2020 wrx for almost a year on the 11th..and i love it..
Awesome! These are amazing cars. I like them too.
@@ChristianHudnell thats a fact..keep making great content brotha!
I am an STI owner in the UK so we don't even get the option of the WRX FA engine. Although I love my STI I would have definitely liked the option of the FA for most of the points you made.
Great looking car btw!
Thanks a lot for watching! The STI is awesome. I think the FA platform with a STI transmission is the best mix
That’s interesting that you guys get the STI and not the WRX . I have a 2019 WRX with an STI spoiler , I love it !
You are right in all ways but i love UEL headers (a.k.a. STI rumble) and you can change the diff configuration. Other than this they are pretty much the same car.
Yeah i love the UEL headers sound too! That sound is really unique and awesome. Thanks for always supporting and watching as much as you do
Thank well said man been saying this for awhile, I want to make a video about this as well.
Thanks bro! You should man, I want to inspire and motivate others to make videos and all kinds too
100% agree on your points, especially that last one. Don't let all these little mods on a car that you don't plan to keep (or isn't your dream build) distract you from saving on the car you ultimately want.
Thanks a lot bro! The Corvette is the big car goal to build and have and that is what I am focused on. Love your car and videos man, keep it up!
That diffuser though🤩🤩🤩🤩
Love this diffuser! So cool in person. Thank you!
Nice video bro. I have 2016 STI as my fun car and 2020 WRX Limited for my daily. If I could only have one car it would be the STI but I still love my WRX. Interestingly stock-for-stock I think my WRX feels quicker. However now that my STI is modified it is definitely much quicker LOL. On my STI I have ACT HD clutch and streetlite fly wheel, shifting is so much better than the WRX. I also love the rumble of the STI. For me having both is the perfect situation.
That’s awesome bro! Thanks for commenting. Having both would be super clean and legit. Yeah stock for stock no comparison. The STI mods you did I know make a big difference and the drive that much better. Both are amazing cars, just as you got WRX for daily I did too. Just gotta get another corvette again soon. Appreciate you watching thank you
I've owned 2 FA20's to date, and I have to say the STI trans is a major aspect. I totally agree with most of what you say, but you can only build so far on the WRX trans.
Exactly I agree! The best build to me is the FA platform with the STI trans
One of the primary reasons i went with the STI. I think between that and better brakes, it justifies the price difference.
@@ChristianHudnell Once you start building for big power, at present, the current FA20 DIT runs out of fueling over 500hp. At that point you will have to invest in a hybrid fueling system and a stand alone ECU like Motec. That's big bucks to solve. At that point DIT no longer an advantage and EJ has a half litre advantage in size. There will come a time, hopefully with the release of the next generation STI motor where this will be fixed and easier to upgrade without the huge cost. Motec alone is $10-15K upgrade. Until that time, bigger builds are going to be more cost effective with the current STI.
Damn just cause of this video I’m subscribing 😂🙌🏾
Aye! Haha thanks for watching and subscribing I appreciate it
I initially thought I would get a WRX, but was very disappointed in the shifter feel and rev hang. When I finally test drove an STi it felt completely different. Much more mechanical feeling, with the hydraulic steering, better shift action, no rev hang, and also the DCCD. On paper those things don’t seem like they’d make that much difference, but if you care about driving feel, they really do. Plus, Subie Rumble 😁
Yeah stock WRX drives really bad. Getting a tune gets that fixed much easier. The STI is an awesome platform
@@ChristianHudnell Yeah, I know it’s kind of antiquated tech, but I came from an ‘05 Boxster S and I like the more old school feel to the STi. I’m interested to see what the next gen of both will be like 👍
Hey how much do you think you spent on your build?
Good video!
I got my WRX #1 because it's been my dream car since the bug eye and I absolutely fell in love with the look of the 2015 WRX
#2 I wanted to avoid the headaches of the EJ series motor.. while still having a very capable autox and daily driver. The added suspension upgrades of the sti were irrelevant to me as I'm gonna mod the suspension anyhow (also my profile pic is my old autox/daily lol) and 30hp isn't worth an extra $10k to me
Congrats man and I agree with your points as well. Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it. Thank you
Holy shit!!! It's too loud that vette jajaja Nice bro
HAHAHAHA Yeah man! miss having a corvette. Want to get another one
Great video man!!!👍🏻

Such a dope car. What is the name of the fender flares your using and what is your tire specs. And are you running spacers?
Thanks a lot! I have a recent video that will help you with fitment.

Awesome video. I am going to get a st a limited soon and have been trying to figure out all the mods that I will be able to do without voiding any warranty.
That is awesome! You will love this car and lots to do
@@ChristianHudnell i had a 2005 WRX years ago and have been itching to get a new one.
@@druhill2008 That is awesome! I love those model year subies too
What about shifter and steering feel tho? WRX has that painfully mediocre light and spongy feeling cable shifter...
Yes they look similar but except for that rumble.
loving the intros bro keep up the great content!👍🏼🙌🏼
Thanks a lot bro! I will for sure, I appreciate it
Sweet thanks brother 👍
You are welcome! Thank you for watching
Test drove a wrx today. Never had a “fast car”. I’m obsessed. I am test driving an sti but is the rumble worth the stiffness and gas etc. we shall see who knows
I’ve driven my friends stock 18’ STi last year. I just drove a different friends 16’ STi today. One thing is for sure, they sound great! 2nd thing is for certain that transmission is beast. But other than that... to be 100% honest, I enjoy driving my FBO e85 18’ WRX over those any day. Maybe it’s because I’m so use to my cars delivery, feel, and power I don’t know 🤷🏻♂️ All that drive made me want to do is instead of parting out.. all I need now is that transmission and I’m golden.
I feel like the perfect situation is having the FA motor with the STI transmission. That is probably why the next gen STI is going that route
There is no sti gen anymore its over
What are you paying for insurance monthly?
you should do pros and cons also on getting wrx modded version.
How reliable are the WRX? Considering a manual civic hatch, Si or WRX I know tuned hatches and Si are faster than stock wrx. Is the WRX worth the 5-7k extra price?
Hey thanks for comment! Honestly, the WRX to me is pretty reliable. You can get some nice used ones for like 18-22k right now. I know the Si civics are really cool. My advice, is which car would you like to own 5 years from now and long term wise. both are excellent cars but go with the one you feel is best and the one that feels right to you
What’s your opinion on the WRX transmission gears? I hear some refer to them as glass gears vs the STi ones are much more durable.. but otherwise I agree with this video general idea.
The newer 6 -speed 15+ WRX transmissions are much better then thee old 5-speed ones. They aren't as good as the STI but for thee power my car has it feels really good
Good video big bro.
Thanks a lot man! Appreciate it and the support
Really well made video. Well done bro 👌 im sold 😂
Thanks a lot man haha glad the video helped! I appreciate you for watching and commenting.
@@ChristianHudnell dont even mention it man. You deserve it 👌
@@dancinglizard3080 Thanks man! Just wanna keep making fun and awesome videos for everyone.
Awesome bro.. Can you tell me how much it costs for the mods.. Especially for the STI swing , rear and front spoilers for a base WRX
Hey brotha! I have a video where I show how much my mods are. You can check that one out
What year is your car
What’s that phone mount?
When i got my 06 STI i debated over both and an EVO MR. The EVO had super harsh suspension so it was out. The WRX transmission from that era was not so good and that was the decision maker.
True! The 06 Hawkeye is one of my favorite Subarus too especially the STI so that is really cool you got that
I'm on a budget so I'm sticking with the WRX. My priority is getting a house in Florida. Besides, cars lose value over time.
That is awesome though! Congrats on going for the house and thank you for watching. A house is an amazing investment
yoo cool video thumbs up
Thanks a lot! i appreciate that man. Thanks for reaching out
Nice Seats bro, do you still have the heated seats with those? if so where did u buy them??
Thanks! They don’t have heated seats honestly being in Cali though I don’t mind it. These are cipher auto b it I’m installing Braum racing seats soon. I like those more. Thanks for watching
Smiles per gallon now miles per gallon...
I'll feed my wrx premium 91 octane all day... it keeps me smiling... its amazingly fun to drive.
Keeping my wrx stock. My evo x is my fast car 550hp. Love daily driving the wrx
hahah a few hundred in insurance! I traded in a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta for a 2017 STI and only bumped my insurance 20 dollars more a month. Age and driver record is the key to insurance.
And location also matters. Home address matters a lot in California for sure. I was 26 at time of purchasing the Subaru. Good driving record. I got really good insurance rate. I’m just saying for average driver, with young age, and not best area of home address it can be expensive. Of course everyone’s situation isn’t same or different. Thanks for watching and the comment I agree
@@ChristianHudnell I'm 27, I pay $8 more a month to insure my STI...
Andrew Becker that’s awesome but again. Where you live matters more about insurance then just age
Intro song is lit 🔥
Thanks a lot brotha! Love this song too
Are you sure about the insurance costs for the WRX and STI?
I think its more age-related than car-related. I have a 2017 WRX and I considered switching over to an STI a couple times. I was quoted by my insurance to be $20 less than my WRX surprisingly.
When you first got your WRX, you were younger, record wasn;t as long, may have moved to different area. etc. When you went to get STI you were older and not all variables were the same. also, cars have different rates based where you live, how where you live drivers are etc
Do you work at Kaiser in sac? Thought I seen your car there lol
Hey! I don't but I used parking lot before I think to Film a video
Planning on trading my 19 wrx for an STI and ill be moving from CA to NC so I'm hoping insurance can drop compare to how much I pay here in LA for the wrx
That’s awesome! Congrats on the STI soon. I’m sure it will. Good luck :)
Are you still selling your wrx parts and how are you enjoying your STI? Is it worth upgrading. I'm stuck on deciding.
Hey! I will b making a video talking about this actually
I only stuck with the wrx due to my insurance being too much on the sti. i had an opportunity to get it but i’ll just wait till i’m more financially available for it. but hey, not many 18 year olds can say their driving a 2018 wrx so i feel accomplished 😂
That is awesome though man! That’s a big accomplishment congrats man. Keep it up
I’m getting sti with stage 2 or 3 tuning package down the line. That’s it, maybe tinted windows. Found a good deal on a 2015 sti all white with 1000 miles on it for 22k clean title. Really good find. Getting financed this week :) can’t wait.
That is an awesome find! Really nice. Congrats bro!
I bought the STI because I have bigger plans for it. $10k seems like a lot but when you look at upgrading the components that get skipped with the WRX (steering rack, trans, differentials, etc), you don't end up saving anything. Completely agree with your overall sentiment though, WRX is a great fun daily. If you just want something to add a bit of pep to then WRX all day. But I care too much about how the car feels. And if you are someone who really cares about that too then you're gonna want the STI. But really just go drive them and see if it matters to YOU!
Yeah, I agree with this. I've got about 13k in my WRX and can't push much more than 450ish because the transmission is going to explode. What's more, my wrx brakes are absolute trash. As far as mod money, it doesn't equate unless you saved up 40k in cash and bought a wrx. Otherwise, the payments aren't gonna be a huge difference.
Nice! Thanks for watching and the comment. True, i paid off car like 18 months ago so pretty much been able to mod however I want. Thanks for comment
I agree fully! Like i said, the STI all the way If it was my main build or car. However, I do mostly daily highway and occasional driving. Even if i had an STI it would almost be an investment I wouldn't fully use. I care about driver feel but it doesn;t compare to a Corvette especially the one i has when I had my corvette. I think most forget my subaru was my second car and literally just bought to have a fun daily haha. But the STI is a fantastic car, i just wouldn't invest much into it the way I should cause I have focus on corvettes. Thanks for message, I agree with a lot of what you said
Electric steering rack is more reliable for track duty and doesnt cause parisitic loss from the motor like power steering does.
Is a Wrx good for daily driving? My impreza is paid off and I was debating getting one since their now automatic transmission and I hate swapping clutch plates and flywheels.
The WRX I have had over 3 years now and have had very minimal issues with it. Drives amazing and I would recommend a manual for sure
@@ChristianHudnell what kind of gas mileage are you getting? I always have a K&N air filter to help with gas and I'm probably going to grt a cold air intake system to further help out.
I have a SF Big COBB Intake and I get close to 30 on freeway still
@@ChristianHudnell how much did it run you and what would you guesstimate was the install time?
Hmmm I did a lot of mods at one time so im not sure
I’m 15 and Saving up for a car and I am interested in the Subarus but don’t know what I should get because I also want to mod it a bit
They both are awesome cars just go with which you like more and have the budget for as well
I'm over here with a C7 vette and WRX wondering if I should get an STI. The last point felt like it was directed at me personally lol.
Aye! Congrats hahaha and I feel you. Thanks for watching man
I had a 13 STi and I got better gas mileage in my 460HP Mustang GT and my 2016 Camaro SS. It was a great car but now have an 18 WRX. STi handled better no question but that’s about it. Feels about the same quickness on stage 1+
I daily my WRX, therefore more usable torque at 2-3K ish yet pulls all d way to 6k. Im a fan, not a purist hardcore so still prefer some comfort and softer ride
I feel you, I really wnjoy this car each day as well and enjoy the way it drives with how comfortable it is. Thanks for watching and commenting
How'd you get it to pull all the way to 6k, accesport and j pipe? My 2017 wrx was stock and that thing did not like to rev above 5k.
what's that side part called that hangs over the wheel?
I have the HT Auto Fender Flares body kit. I think that what you meant
@@ChristianHudnell thanks👌🏾
Were you in placerville for any of this video I could have sworn you were on Missouri flat rd
I was over there visiting so yeah that probably was me haha
Just watched this after having my wrx for seven months and forgot I commented this but hell yeah that’s my home town
got a 2019 STI, keeping it stock except the muffler delete. I'd rather not dabble into ruining the car early. The car has only depreciated only 3k since having it for 2 years.
Yeah the STIs keep their value very well!
SubZeru finally realized the facts and truth and upgraded his WRX to a STI :)
Hahahah big facts! Haha too funny
i test drove both. the sti just feels raw. also my insurance was the same for both. not sure why you had that issue. i also didn't buy a car to worry about gas mileage. not a bad video though.
True but this car is my daily I drive for work. So gas matters to me. I do not need my daily getting as bad gas mileage as my corvette
Just traded in my WRX for an STI this past Monday. I learned a lot and I’m glad I got the WRX first. The STI really shows what I was missing in the WRX. Insurance for me changed by $5/month. I really like the NVH on the STI as I did upgrade some mounts and random drivetrain mods on the WRX to really feel more of the car. I can really tell the STI is a lot more powerful on the top end where as the WRX just falls on its face.
That is awesome man! Congrats on the new STI and thank you for the message. I truly appreciate it and thanks for the info.
well because the STI its y dream car i love the looks and the sound. plus i dont want to race get ticked i just enjoy the car the sound the feel I LOVE MY STI.
The STI is an awesome machine! Congrats, that is really amazing. I agree
Then he ends up getting an sti reason why I didn’t consider it an option after the test drive
exactly agree with the sti my older brother has sti and i have a wrx he always say to me that we swap car cause his sti is really thirsty and begging for gas we even fill it full tank and drove same city and when i see his fuel indicator it really drinks alot of gas unlike my wrx i didnt even see that my gas was consumed.
Yeah The STIs use a lot of gas also because you gotta rev them higher in RPM to go for boost and use more power that way
Save the 10 k for the vette. I like that thinking man.
Haha exactly! That 10k helped get mods for the Vette
where did you get your seats and is it powered
Stick seats in this video. I currently have Braum seats and they are dope. Sliders not powered
Your air bag light is on due to the seat sensor not there
Awesome vid fam I own a 2018 wrx and I feel the same way they r way better than the sti these days and there's so much more u can do to a wrx!!! Keep up the great work fam!!!! #subilyfe
Thanks a lot man! I really appreciate the support a lot. I agree and love the WRX platform for sure. Thanks for supporting and congrats on the 18s those are clean!
Most of us ain’t paying cash tho so u don’t see it as 10k right away you just see it as 150 a month or whatever the difference is.
Yeah that is true! Another way to see it for sure I feel you
I just came from a comparison video of a Mustang EcoBoost vs V8 because I was curious of the differences and I gotta say...I’m proud of us WRX/STI owners. The comments section for the other video were toxic V8 owners shitting on EcoBoost owners. I guess I can see their point of view but still, there’s pros and cons to both cars.
Here? Even though the STI is superior and we all know it, I see STI owners giving WRX owners some great tuning/upgrades advice. I love the positivity.
Yeah I agree as well! It is nice to have some cool subie owners respect another well here. Always about being positive with another and building each other up. Thanks for watching and commenting on the video
owned both. never settle for a wrx.
I owe 10k on my 2019 wrx do I really want to add another 15k to 20k to my debt 😐 Simply probably not worth trading up. I'll just build it for more power even then 300 whp is plenty fun.
Yeah the WRXs can make power much easier for sure and cheaper then an STI. These cars are fun to drive and mod
What state are you in? I have a clean record and compared my STI to a base WRX and my insurance is way cheaper for an STI. It's like that with all insurance companies too in my state.
He's in California
I am in california, I have a good record but there is a difference between the STI and WRX, could be the area and zip im in, but just saying that and the other things add up for sure
Yeah thanks!!
If your insurance is multiple hundreds of dollars a month, then yeah I don't know what to tell you. My '19 STi Limited is $115.50 per month/paid every six months (Full Coverage, Non-Insured Motorist, Comprehensive, Collision etc.). I'm 29 and JUST got one of these two months ago. Just wait until you're at least 25 years old plus. You're nuts if you're paying that much a month in car insurance.
It’s great to have more mod money for ur wrx till you add to much power and blow your trans. I bet you’d be wishing you had the sti 6-speed afterward
Hmmm not really, I have heard more STI cars blowing engine then WRX. I believe Subies should be under 400 HP to be safe and reliable only on 4 cylinders
I will say you wrx guys got us on mileage 😂 love for both but after 8k miles on my sti and driving a bunch of wrxs (I work at a dealer) I have to say they both have strengths to them. Wrx is way more comfy and a better daily you can have fun in. Also, WAY easier to run 🌽! Also it doesn’t really have turbo lag due to the twin scroll turbo. Oddly enough being 23 with 3 speeding tickets it’s cheaper for me to insure an sti over the wrx (most people my age can’t swing an sti, buy a rex and then wreck it so insurance skyrockets). Also, when people say “well you have like 10k to add mods” I have a few things to say to that. 1. Most people finance, not pay cash. 2. The stock wrx trans can’t handle much power and it rides on a softer chassis. 3. The stock wrx shift feel is best put as (shout out throttle house) putting a broom handle in a bucket of rocks. You have to do a lot to remedy that. 4. The hydraulic steering rack provides so much feedback whereas the wrx electronic rack (while way more comfy and harder to upset) doesn’t provide as much feel. I think if you want to have a fun, economically sensible daily that’s fun, buy a wrx. If you want to mod your car a lot, go sti as you get way more than you think out of the box (can’t believe I didn’t mention the dccd Lmaooo). Ok now on top of ALL OF THAT, if you want to mod your car and make big power, as much as I’m head over heals for my sti, don’t buy a subie 🤣 there’s cheaper to cars with cheaper parts to make big power. Dig the video bro! Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
Thanks for the comment and big respect! I agree with you as well :) The Subaru to me was never gonna a be a big power build and honestly, like you said, there are so many cheaper routes. I just wanted t daily that was reliable, looked good, good gas, I could make my own, and Didn't;t break the bank. The Subaru STI is an amazing car and such a dope car. I always was a corvette first guy so didn't need the extra power. Thanks for taking the time to send your review and thoughts. I really appreciate it
@@ChristianHudnell yeah bro totally!! I dig your build, one of the guys at work as done soooo much with his wrx and it’s dope. I got the sti for the backroads here in the Bay Area ca. No point in high power cars here lmaoooo
Thanks brotha! Aye, I am from Sacramento so I completely understand about the bay area
Haha broooo no shit. Yo if you ever need anything I’ll hook you up. Putnam Subaru in Burlingame
I think everyone has their opinion ..i got an 05 sti ..and all the buddies with newer wrxs took a drive in it and they wanted one after few minutes of driving it ...your wrx is nice though
I appreciate it! The 04-05 STIs are some of most wanted subarus of all time so I dont doubt that haha. Lightweight and raw feeling of car is awesome. Thanks for comment
You can tell the difference between 2018+ wrx/sti by the fog lights 2015-2017 they are identical
Yeah the front bumper facia is different and how most can see difference. You are right
