The news media should be ashamed to report this to people who are on fixed income such as ssdi and ssi. They know this already.

I get my check on the 3rd every month and Fri before if 3rd is on weekend or Monday holiday just like the Sept 3 date is on Sat. in the Biden Horror Show year of 2022.

There is NO bonus check in September. All it is if you watch the video is people on SSI will receive 2 checks (Sept 1 and Sept 30) the Sept 30 check is actually their October check early because the 1st/2nd falls on a weekend. End of story.

This is old news. I'm on social security and I get paid on the 3rd of the month, or before, depending on weekends or holidays, regardless of what day of the week it is. If the 3rd falls on monday, and it happens to be a holiday, I will get paid on the last day of the previous month.
Anyone on Disability knows this, we have been living this stuff for years.

How long does it take to get a Direct Express Card? Customer service told me it takes 6 to 8 weeks and 4 months to have payment method switch from check to Direct Express?

No sweetie. SSI checks come on the Friday if the 1st is on weekends or holidays. Not two checks, one just comes early

With 31 days in October that means you have to make that payment last more than a month Before your next check as November 1st is a weekday.
But technically you had to make your September payment "last" for a shorter period of time. So this shouldn't be an issue for people that understand how to budget their money 🤷♀️
I honestly don't understand how this became news. This is normal practice when the payday falls on the weekend it comes on the last week day. It has always been that way.

I'm on SSDI that's a social security income and I'm also on Social Security disabled insurance I do get two checks I do got a letter that says you'll get more money but it just did not say what in September you supposed to receive

@@miquel5041 I know someone that gets two separate checks. One for SSI and the other for SSDI. Not illegal. The SSDI only adds to your SSI it doesn't replace it.
For instance the minimum is around $600 for SSI. Minimum SSDI adds about $200 to that.

I receive my ss check on the second Wednesday of every month, but I’m going to try and get disability as well. I’ve just heard horror stories about trying to get it. I’m 72 and have no idea how to apply. Guess I need to contact a social security office to seek some help with that. I sure could use some extra help with my bills. I’m convinced that our government doesn’t care about their elderly!
Usually that's what you'll have to do. You can call and ask if they can do your application over the phone, but make sure when you call, that your disability issue is in the Social Security category as a disability. I hope this helps some.
Your last statement is 100% true. "Our" government considers us a burden. That's why our 1st stimulus checks were sent out 3 weeks late. They "forgot" about including our names and the U.S. Vet's, and the retired railroad workers.

People who work get paid, you get a check if your on ss. I'm disabled after working almost 50 years, suffering from arthritis in my knees and rheumatoid arthritis in my hands, Retired from a computer co also, I get a check
At age 55, I was doing fine till I was rear-ended by a kid texting his girlfriend. I spent 3.5 years in rehabilitation for a brain injury. I lost $788,000 in wages, I was not fully reimbursed for medical and fought four years to get SSDI.
Had I not paid off my home, and had savings, 401k to fall back on we would have been homeless.
I am 63 now and never imagined I could be so humbled and happy.
