If E.T was a horror movie
And he prays on kids and adults but scared of pets and if pets are not there he rips off your head
You wanna know what's f'kd up, though?
Originally, the pitch for E.T. _was_ a horror movie, called _Night Skies._ The aliens would be the same, but with beaks and they'd be evil; and they would use their glow-fingers to disembowel cattle and human victims. The protagonist would have included an autistic child who befriends a nice alien named Buddy, but the ending would have had Buddy killed.
Spielberg almost wanted to make that pitch into a sequel for E.T., with the titular character only showing up at the end to save Elliot, after most of the film revolves around him being tortured by evil aliens.

Fun fact there was a canceled ET 2 movie but the script was too terrifying for a young audience so they stopped the production.

The _original idea_ for E.T. was basically a violent horror film, the suggested sequel was largely based off of it.

Bro same I was horrified of ET as a kid. Even now as a grown man I still feel a little uneasy by him. I remember once my grandmother, who loved ET so much, once told me she was going to invite him to the house one night to do the carpet or something. I was up all night mortified. Good times XD

ET scared the crap out of me too. I had this nightmare once where I was at my most vulnerable on the porcelain throne when all of a sudden right next to me the shower curtains moved which caused me to get to the door which was lock. As I'm frantically trying to unlock the door all of a sudden, I hear the shower curtains open. And I see him standing there looking at me with his bulging eyes. Then all of a sudden, he grows these long daddy long leg, legs and sprints at me screeching. Now I check the shower curtain every time I got to crap. How about you :)
A situation like that would honestly be horrifying, he had a right to be scared

I also had nightmares of ET as well I would dream I’d be re-watching the movie but the movie would be different more scary and I’d be in it and I’d be in the forest with the aliens. It would just be a very terrifying scary situation to be in. Each of my dreams don’t really make any sense. But in the end ET was there and it was scary.

God... I thought it was just me. I loved the xenomorph from the Alien series, even as young as 10, just because it looked so cool.
