80s what such a special time to live as a kid. It's so hard to explain in words.
The 80s and 90s were the last truly glorious times for being a child of humanity.
I couldn't agree more! Born in 82!
@@dand6298 79 here. I despise what the world has become.
@@Surfer041 As an 01 kid, you really get the feeling you missed out on living in a golden age, I always grew up with old VHS tapes my parents kept of old films.
@@Surfer041me too it’s nuts 1977 rocks
When E.T. kicks the beer cans like he's tired of *everybody*
whos here because of the Mandela effect? 🤣
What do you mean
I'm seriously losing my shit over here. I didn't notice this change until now
Me to I know it’s phone home

Facts like why are the kids saying phone home when he said home phone
Good to see the version that we all grew up with is available in 4K.
Not the CGI replaced, walkie-talkie version
pretty sure its just updated cgi
Pretty sure it was “phone home” wait? What dimension is this? Earth 2-12
@@TheTrashStash it's not updated at all, the newer ET used CGI, but the original was not. what you saw in the original was in real time, but how they were able to have people and ET in the same scene, it was a mechanical robot with a computer chip built in. super computer chips did exist back in the 80's, but they were only made specifically for the film industry. regular people couldn't buy them, but that's how they used CGI in those days to create special effects. like when they were all flying through the air on bicycles, all that stuff is CGI and special effects, but ET himself was built by professionals. outside it looks an Alien, but underneath is a computer generated robot. Steven Spielberg was always good at creating an illusion, even when technology advanced more in the 90's, he always wanted to keep that realistic vibe in films. it makes sense because when you see actual people in the film, the audience feels more connected. Star Wars did so well for it's time in the 70's, because having people interact with alien species made it feel like they were in space. when films go the animated route or has a 3D type environment where you don't need live actors, you don't feel as connected, because it's all computer generated.
@@Jeymez please summarize your reply
@@TheTrashStash i did, but if you want a shorter reply, the original E.T was not CGI except for special effects. everything in the film was in real time, E.T was a controlled mechanical robot, but in order to hide the wires that makes it run, that's where the trick camera and good camera work comes in. just like Jaws was a mechanical shark controlled by a person inside, likewise ET was a robot, but instead of a person being inside it's controlled by remote.
I laugh at how E. T. says Elliott. Priceless 😄 🤣 😂
Happy 40th anniversary, _E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial._

One of the best movies I've ever had the pleasure to watch.
Thank you ,universal,😘.
Universal: my Pleasure 😇
I was at Universal Studios days ago for my two a half weekends. Exploring Harry Potter World, Disney World in the Animal Kingdom while going on the Pandora ride where you feel like you're riding a Banshee, and back Galaxy's Edge after two/three years ago. I've had a great time.
This will always be a childhood classic. So awesome ❤️❤️❤️

there is also the scene of E.T vs BATMAN 🦇! which is very good, 🎊 happy 40th Anniversary ET 🚲👽✨🎉
Happy Anniversary
I's forgotten how good this movie was, especially this scene. 🙂
Whoa would’ve thought that 40 years later I be going back watching this emotional and cute little story about a little alien trying to ‘ phone home?’
It’s so funny how the people who say the Mandela effect of ET saying phone home isn’t true and he says home phone never bothered to actually watch the rest of the scene or are just willfully ignorant to make their claim seem authentic but he clearly says phone home once they correct him
Happy 40th, E.T. 💓
The idea of even if we are two creatures belong to different worlds we still bonded…❤ got me every time😭😭😭
Goosebumps.
An all time master of awe, magic and suspense, is Spielberg.
Happy 40th, E.T.
Wow flashback from the past wow , superb film, absolutely Love this film . Brings back awesome memories 😎 👌 ❤️.
i was always amazed with how they made movies like this with the limited technology they had at that time, we're blessed with modern technology today, and yet you don't even see a fraction of creativity anymore. Steven Spielberg really was a genius, way ahead of his time. the industry is lazy today, because everything runs through a computer anymore. as a result alot of modern mainstream films look like a videogame, here this was a live movie that centered around an Alien.
This was a core movie of my childhood. My lifetime even
A timeless, heart-warming classic! 🤩👍👍
Of course, Steven Spielberg is so good at making spectacular special effects-laden scenes in his movies, but it should also be underlined that it's notoriously difficult for a director to work with child actors and he's managed to bring Henry Thomas and Drew Barrymore to give those emotional performances that seem so natural - at such a young age!
You've got to recognize that Spielberg is a true actors' director.
Can we all agree these videos are never disappointing 🙏
YEAH!
OF COURSE!
Definitely agreed ☺️☺️
Friendly reminder that et species is canon in star wars

My favorite film as a child 👽
@ 4:21 in this clip they have changed it from the original movie where ET says "ET phone home" to ET home phone, which makes no sense since everyone who watched it in the 1980s remembers the catchphrase is and always was "ET phone home." Is 'AI' messing with things? Listen @ 4:21
