The musicality of the 80's hair band is not to be ignored. It's way beyond today's music & the creativeness is none to be compared.
As gimmicky as it was then, you still had to be good musicians to make it.
It IS to be ignored.
And being a teen in the 80s was a crazy good time. Got to see the best bands in the world live. Soo many concerts. Damn I miss it !
"Here I Go Again" is definitely a must that you should check out next from them.

That red headed woman in the video was Tawny Kitean. She was the lead singer, David Coverdale's wife back in the day. She was in a bunch of their music videos. Sadly, she died a couple years ago. RIP Tawny.
Jimmy Page also use bow across his guitar a lot, for Led Zeppelin. This was great song.

I was 16 when this came out, and it nearly exploded my head. It's so brilliant in that it pays homage to what came before yet seems unique and powerful at the same time. Still gives me chills hearing it!

It was for the camera ….he didn’t use a bow….they put strings on the recording ….he’s playing like he did it…he’s not the guitarist who recorded this …it was John Sykes ….who was kicked out of the band before the video

Lead Singer David Coverdale got his start with Deep Purple. The first 6 Whitesakes albums (1978-1984) were the best albums they recorded.
Jimmy Page and Led Zep did the bowed guitar way back in 1969. Watch Zeppelin's "Dazed and Confused" from their concert at Royal Albert Hall.

The English Rock band was long gone in 1987, when this video was recorded. The singer from England, the other band members from Ireland, Netherlands, Cuba and the USA. The singer was deep in debts when recording this album. He replaced all the band members who recorded the album with the members in the video (well known from Ozzy, Quiet Riot or DIO). And put his girl friend into the video. The rest is history
Still in my mind the single greatest hair metal song of the 80s, and maybe the best ever metal song from that era. This song is perfect in my mind.

1 saw them live front row center floors in Toronto in the late 80s they opened up for Kiss. The whole concert was rocking. Steve Vai was their guitarist for that tour. If you liked the violen bow on the guitar try Led Zeppelin Dazed and Confused live MSG 1973 he perfected the bow guitar combo. Great reaction as usual my friend and Peace out ✌️ ☮️

I can clearly remember the very first time i heard this song. It was saturday night in 1980 something. Me and my friend were tripping on some really good acid with a couple of girls we knew. We put on the MTV head bangers ball and this was the first song that came on. I thought it was the greatest thing ever lol, and it begane my years long crush on Tawny Kitaen(the actress in the video).

I'm so glad you discovered Whitesnake, one of my favorite bands when I was a teen. I saw them in concert as well. David Coverdale has such a powerful voice. He has a thick English accent when he's speaking. The beautiful unique Tawny Kitaen R.I.P. was an actress too check out Witchboard if you like horror movies. Barbra Streisand with Memory, Evergreen, Woman in Love written by the Bee Gees for her would be suggestions. If you don't know of her, her achievements list will knock your socks off, also Billy Squire " In the Dark" is another suggestion.
The guitar player who used the bow, Adrian Vandenberg, actually did not use it in the recording. . It was a recreated using a keyboard. I’m not sure about whether he did this on tour, though….let’s face it, the sight of a handsome 6’7” guitar player with long blonde hair on his knees playing the guitar with a bow is a much better visual! 😁
Fun fact, or a crazy one: Tawny Kitaen, the red haired model , dated OJ Simpson, after her and lead singer David Coverdale went their separate ways. That's wild AF! Sadly she passed a few years ago. RIP Tawny.

RIP Tawny one of the most popular video vixens of the time and I beleive she only did their videos. She also played in a few films, my fav is "Witchboard" great creepy horror. I'm pretty sure Tawny K. was also the woman in the video for the song "Stacys' Mom" in the 2000s. Can't remember the bands name, but it was one of the most popular songs around then.

John Sykes plays all the guitar on this song and this album but hes not in the video. In fact, the only person in the video thats actually on the song and this album is David Coverdale (the singer). After the album was done, David fired everybody and picked up all new members. After John was in Whitesnake, he formed another band called Blue Murder...check em out

One thing about artist back in the day, they had to be creative. They didn't have to be lazy and use technology, todays tech wasn't around back then of course. That's why the music was better.

BTW, Jimmy Page was using a bow on his guitar years before this. Zeppelin has a live video highlighting Jimmy's bow usage.

I think the lead singers mic stand tested positive in pregnancy test after the video shoot. I've always LOVED redheads but I always had the hots for her after her first video. Tawney looks so much better after her boob implants. The model they hired didn't show up for the video so he had his girlfriend "tawney" do it.
