We met Brendan Fraser at Toronto Fan Expo. My mother told him that she had the exact same back injury and surgery he did. He actually teared up and gave her the biggest hug. He was a real gentleman.

I knew Brendan years ago. I worked on a movie with him. He's a genuine guy. After not seeing him for years, when he heard my mom died he called me from a film set in Mexico to give me his condolences..

The Mummy still stands as one of my favorite movies ever. He's a legend in my book just for that.

kay oss I don’t think that’s necessarily true. The Kardashian’s are hated much more than Brendan Fraser. However Fraser is more sensitive it seems. Where the Kardashian’s dismiss all the critics regardless of validity, Fraser doesn’t. The fact that after the golden globes thing he got quiet instead of coming out and laughing about it and moving forward is evidence of that. To be clear the Kardashian’s suck, and they should be more self aware. Brenden Fraser seems like such a nice sensitive person that he takes that stuff personally.

I don't think he's awkward when he talks. I think he's thoughtful, he truly thinks before he speaks and it's just perceived as awkward instead of genuine. Brendan will always have a fan in me, I grew up watching him and adoring him and I'm so happy he's coming back.

He is one of the big examples how people don't treat celebrity's as human beings and how crupt Hollywood really is. Brendan will always have a place in my heart. I grew up to his movies and even enjoyed a lot of them even the so called flop movies, he always made those movies enjoyable.

He's one of the faces of our generation. Huge crush on him when I was a teen/twenty-something. Hell, he's still hot with a dad bod! He's a human being. Blast from the past is still one of my guilty pleasures, and I actually like monkey bone, although I was 20 when that came out. I haven't watched it since, but I feel like I'd still enjoy it.

I remember meeting Brendan Fraiser years after he made Bedazzled. He was very cordial and also supportive of the fact that he saw a fan of it years after it was being promoted.... he's a man of class.
Never met him, not a big enough fan to follow him or watch interviews... but I can say that his tonality and body language says he's a cool guy in real life. This video says the same as well. Looks like when you're a nice guy it's as hard to hide as if you're rotten!
yeah he's particularly happy when people mention his lesser known movies. Actually he's just happy that people remember him in any of his movies. It's sad what Hollywood did to him. I hope one day he does get that Mummy sequel that he wants.
Bedazzeled is a classic film. I used to love watching that film on deployments in the navy.
It stuns me that Bedazzled is so poorly thought of (going by rotten tomatoes audience score). I've never found it anything but an entertaining fun movie.

School ties is one of the most overlooked films made. Extremely powerful performances especially from Brendan that were oscar worthy. To see it next to George of the Jungle and Monkey Bone only shows what an incredibly talented and versatile actor he is.

Always in his corner. Have shown my kids so many of his films. His sadness is now so palpable. I divorced after 18 years and 3 kids, recently lost my mother ... Have had all number of health and financial issues and 2 children with special needs. I feel for him with all my heart. Seeing his comeback has been so heartwarming! I've always loved him and always cherished his "awkwardness" as I have other awkward people in the industry like Robert Smith and others. The fact that his abuser gave some half assed apology was bs!

Brendan is one of those actors that almost everyone likes. He didn’t take himself too seriously which might have hampered his career but it also endeared him to us normal folk and the industry knows that.

Did this video ever get an update? Because now, this story has an added, triumphant moonshot of a comeback. Not only is his career revived, but along with the opportunities that's before him, there's also the respect and appreciation for his acting chops. Admittedly, I thought that maybe it was all just hype. But then I recently watched "The Whale", and I have to admit that he was pretty amazing in that role.

Back when the photoshopped crying Brendan/"just fuck my shit up" meme was trending, there definitely was a prevailing air of mockery towards him as a hasbeen. Only when circumstances of his tragic life came to light - the divorce/child support issue, the sexual harassment issue and his mother's death - did people start to reflect a little bit and start to question if perhaps they weren't being a bit douchey towards him before.

I think part of the reason that Fraser disappeared from the spotlight is because he's a genuinely nice guy, and Hollywood is a cesspool. The same happened with Tom Selleck years ago. Everybody who ever worked with these actors has said about how down-to-earth and humble they are, and, unfortunately, narcissists prosper in the world of entertainment.

Brendan Fraser went through very human troubles and I personally admire the man for fighting through it. Everyone gets old, everyone hits rock bottom sometimes, everyone rides the bumps of life. But unlike many, he fought through it and he's still here. I'd pick him above many of today's younger actors who think they're all that. He's still up there in my book.
