So I planned this video to be 7 of the Ultramarines Successor Chapters... but that would be nearly 2 hours long it turns out and I cannot edit that in time for today so... welcome to part of a series on successor chapters! If these prove popular then I will do them for other chapters too.
As previously mentioned I am now doing a podcast! Check out the Morehammer channel for our first episode, and there will be another one along next week. I am also now part of the Morehammer Discord so if you want to chat to me you can find us here:

Thank you to everyone who has subscribed or has joined my Patreon to support me (Where Grudge of Drong is currently winning the vote for which Campaign Pack gets played through!). As ever you can find me on Twitter, Bluesky and Instagram as 90Percentgeek

In-universe, it's actually unclear how many Ultramarines Successors there are. The Apocrypha of Skaros, the oldest remaining copy of the Codex: Astartes left as of the 41st Millennium, mentions that there are 23 Ultramarines Successors, but it does not list all of them.
As for the concept of Chapters - it seems to have been a fairly common subdivision of the Legiones, a standard found within the _Principia Belicosa_, the organisational standards of the Legiones Astartes during the Great Crusade (though those pre-Heresy Chapters were 10,000 Legionaries strong, rather than the 1,000-strong Second Founding chapters, presumably due to the massive casualties each Legion suffered during the Heresy and the years that followed - there simply weren't enough Marines left to have a decent number of 10,000-strong Chapters).
