I love learning about successors. It really lets the author have a good base for design while doing their own thing.
Whenever I read or hear about the recruitment rituals of the different chapters I always remember the joke that "why are women living longer than men?"

I think the doom eagle story was printed in inferno magazine as I remember reading it.
You're right, it was Inferno, not the journal that it first appeared. I got the names crossed in my head. Cracker of a story!
@@90percentgeek it was, if I remember correctly one of the surving recruits gets rejected because he still had hope and hadn't embraced already being dead
