This video is a little bit different this time around! No voice over and minimal captions. I thought I re-visit the contents of my very first CZcams uploads and do a painting video for old time sake :) Let me know what you think!

Its been a while since I've done a full traditional media illustration (aside from the plein air paintings I did last April) I really missed it! I recently started taking care of house plants at the tail end of last year, and my philodendron was the inspiration for this piece! While my actual plant is a lot smaller, I hope it grows this big one day :)

this is really good, I feel like I'm learning a lot just by watching you paint! I just got my first set of 12 holbein acryla colors recently. Do you have any favorite colors that are not usually in the starter sets? :) Thank you so much!
Yay! I'm so glad you found this video helpful! My favorite colors are ash yellow, a really nice crimson or Vermillion, and any of the softer pastel blues and greens :^)!! A really nice saturated Vermillion with variations of primary colors can be fun to mix and create your own color palette!

I love how you painted the skin 🤩 Would you mind telling me what colours you used on the outer lines of the skin and the skin itself? I mean the red /pink ☺️
Thank you!!!! I can't remember what exact mixture I used, but it was probably a mixture of the skin tone with a bit of Vermillion 🥰
I really admire your ability to draw characters, esp hands, shoes, and face lines. Wish I could draw hands like that. Could you make a video on drawing hands?
If you let me do nitpicking. Somehow it bothers me that plant is too long when imaging the boy is not holding it. The grass on the ground indicates it is outside but the pot on the shelf seems inside, giving unnecessary confusion. And the grass on the ground looks too tiny.
Oh well, keep up your good work!

Ahh! If that's the question, I actually bought my own choice of colors individually 🙂 I guess you could say I created my own set? Haha!
