Am Italian so am not white đ„±
As an Italian fan, I'll give some insight on the Italian white guys' situation in the 80s.
The period 60s-80s is a period called 'Anni di Piombo' (Years of Lead) for Italy because it was victim of a wave of both far-left and far-right attacks of terrorism. During that period we also had remaining fascists from the war, student and worker uprisings that turn into armed movements, people killed by the police only with the suspicion that they belonged to these groups, massacres, failed coups, kidnappings of people and politicians and to top it off the 80s were the historical peak of activity for Mafia. You're welcome :)
Thank you đ
@@Dabawz_Lafrance you're welcome :)
Thanks!!!

His girlfriend's dad immigrated to the US from Italy in the late 1960s so he probably learned about that from her and her family.
Something important to note at the end of the song that you laughed over, and I donât blame you, itâs not an easy lyric to hear: âmy dad, was happier than I amâ. Referring to his own father being happier than he currently he is at the age of 30.
I didn't hear that, so thanks for bringing it up! Although if I had heard it, I'm not sure I would have said much about it since the whole song basically implies it.
Yes! That line hits me in the heart every single time!
Thank you, I didnt hear that either. I wonder if Bo's dad was 30 in 1985.
even trying to listen for that lyric i couldnât hear it, whatâs the time stamp?

What's so interesting to me is Bo's relationship with his father. He comes up more than occasionally during his specials, not always in a positive way, and I think this is the first time Bo talks about him in a sort of positive light...although being oblivious to what's happening in the world because you're a privileged white guy is not exactly positive. But at least he's happier.
Somewhere deep down I think Bo inherited a lot of his sense of humor from his dad and his dad probably loves his work and is very proud of him, unlike what stage-Bo wants us to believe.
This one is by far my favourite from the deluxe album
Mine too hahaha
@@cindymartinez2152 absolute banger đ
Same itâs just so good though. Also people can make animatics off it so another win lol
I honestly wanna see you react to more content besides just Bo Burnham stuff, you've got a lot of insight that would really lend itself to a variety of different topics.
i would really love some twenty one pilots reactions tbh
Even though I don't always agree 100% with your analyses on songs I literally love hearing your thoughts and seeing your reaction! I don't usually stick with react channels but you stand out to me :D
My favourite song from the deluxe album. Glad you listened to it
Definitely a top one for me
There's also an extended version of SPIDER that Bo released to the deluxe track XD
After Bo Burnham, thereâs a mini Tim Minchin hole you can go down. Itâs a similar type of comedy to Bo, although is less introspective and Tim absolutely destroys on the piano. That being said, Tim does make some good social commentary in his musical comedy, about religion in particular. Iâd recommend the following:
- Storm (beat poem)
- Thank You God (with the symphonic orchestra)
Most of the Bo Burnham fans youâve acquired will also watch Tim Minchin stuff, and Bo even cites Tim as one of his influences.
The way you said "white guys have problems too" REALLLLLY makes me want you to react to Fit Hot Guys Have Problems Too, from Crazy Ex Girlfriend.
CXG is definitely Bo-adjacent, and it's EXTREMELY underrated.
All dads in the 80s had the short shorts and an epic mustache đ€Ł
me wearing 5" inseams though đš
Hey Chris, check out Microwave Popcorn. It popped up in my notifications and I don't think it was in the special. It's on the Deluxe playlist on his page.
I was born in 1996 but I love 80's music and modern music with 80's vibe
I'd love to see you react to some of his rap songs like Hell of a Ride, RANT (one of my absolute favorites), Words Words Words and Oh Bo. All of those (except for Hell of a Ride-that's from the what. album) are from his early career. He has an incredible talent in word play that he doesn't get to use as often nowadays because of the genre shift
Not to forget "i'm bo yo." and "Bo Fo' Sho". They're really different from his current stuff though.
Definitely needs to do Rant. Hands down one of Bo's best. đ
@@ryankelley8326 agreed!
@@razzle_dazzle yeah i know, thats why i wonder what he'd say about them
There are still some REALLY great Bo Bunham videos out there, both produced music videos and clips of live performances. I would love to see your reaction on those. But it's your channel, please do what you'd like to do as well. You can always sprinkle some Bo videos in later if you feel like taking a break. Great video as always!
Iâm very excited for this video because 1985 is my favorite song thank you so much
Thanks for watching!
@@ChrisReactsToThings of course thank you for making great content
How could 10 or 12yo boy dont love this song.â„
I love your Bo reactions, but Iâd be interested in hearing some others as well. I worry you might get sick of his stuff if you donât take a break from it hahaha. Thereâs still so many Bo songs Iâd love to see you react to, but if you insert other stuff in there Iâd recommend Tim Minchin. Iâm fairly new to him myself, but some songs I like are Prejudice and The Pope Song.
ERB is a well of content waiting for you and I think there's a decent amount of crossover fans of Bo who would enjoy seeing your reaction to them, plus they won't claim in fact they encourage reactors to watch their videos. Just a suggestion if you're looking to react to more than content from Bo.
ERB = Epic Rap Battles of History in case it wasn't clear. Either way keep up the good work when you can, it puts a lot smiles on a lot of faces đ
favorite reaction yet
3:35 PAPA!
my all time favorite from the deluxe album
Iâd watch this guy react to anything.
Have you seen the show Bojack Horseman? I'm not suggesting a reaction to it, but I think you'd like watching it. It actually also covers a lot of the sorts of themes the deeper parts of Bo's work cover
And theyâre called Bo! Definitely worth a reaction.
If you really boil it down, this song is essentially about Bo envying blissful ignorance.
Heâs already a white guy, but unlike his father, Bo grew up with cellphones and the internet. Bo grew up in a time when climate change isnât just some ridiculous theory, and white âliberalsâ arenât convinced that racism ended with MLK. We are no longer convinced that the US fights for anything greater than imperialistic greed.
Bo grew up in a time when we know better, culturally and individually. Bo especially suffers from crippling self-awareness, an affliction compounded by his relationship with the very same technological innovation that ironically gave rise to his career: the Internet. It completely makes sense that he envies the blissful ignorance characterized by the experience of his father and people like him in the 1980s, a time before the Age of Information shattered everyoneâs fantasies. A time that weâve been trying to preserve in movies, songs, and TV shows for decades.
Yesssss! Can't wait for this
I agree. Ego IS the enemy
Hey Chris, you should react to some of his earliest songs from back when he was first starting on CZcams. Like Iâm Bo Yo, New Math, Klan Kookout.
Idk why I'm saying this but watch Attack on Titan. It'll definitely keep the channel alive and grow it a lot lol. It has a lot of themes and hidden meanings which fits with the channel. Probably one of the best shows to react to imo.
You know his dad fekkn loves it
you should really do «rant» «eff» «words words words» and «art is dead»! i really enjoy your bo videoes, hope you keep em coming for a bit longer x
Yes, these ones! Also Oh Bo and Hell of a Ride are great
This one kills me
For your information, the image you commented on, is actually the Album Art for the album THE INSIDE OUTTAKES, which is the 12 songs featured only in the Outtakes (minus the score)
Basically a separate thing for people who bought the original INSIDE album and doesn't want doubles of the other songs because of the Deluxe i guess
i havent actually seen/heard this one!
Silently disses his moms cooking
Iâm sure you plan to move on to different content other than Bo at some point, butâŠ.you still have so much more Bo to discover if youâre still interested. His words words words special and the studio songs/music videos from it, his studio songs from what., even his first live album from when he was 18. Thereâs still so many great songs left that you can react to
đ°
@@ChrisReactsToThings you put yourself through this you're not getting out of the bo hole now đđđđ
There's still Words words words, it's previous to what.
This is exactly what he makes fun of in his special. đ
Huh. I can kinda see why this one got cut. Neat tho!
Dudeeeeee you have to react to microwave popcorn asap
Shout out to Scott Burnham man!
There was a time when Italians were not considered White. But Iâm pretty sure it wasnât 1985 đ
bro im Italian and i never understood if im white or not. Some people say we are caucasian???? man i just say im gray at this point or smth idk đđđ
