This is probably one of the only times where a chef catches a sabotage from the maitre d. Every other season, the chef at the pass calls out an incorrect ticket haphazardly. So good on Sade for catching Marino's sabotage!

She showed openly that she’s sucking up to him because of who he is, not what his position in the kitchen is. I get that this is an a going contest for these people, but they’re still serving customers and working. CamTheKitty respect is generally earned. But there’s a difference between that and clear disrespect/disdain towards someone in a professional setting who is in charge of your work. Genuine respect may need to be earned, but professional respect and basic courtesy is the bare minimum she should have been giving. Jennifer did say 5 minutes when Sade asked her the first time but it's when, if I heard it right, Jennifer sent the chicken to the counter that Sade said to her, "well you said it was 5 minutes ago" so presumably it was way passed 5 minutes mark which led Sade asked Jennifer so many times for the chicken update

I didn't think much of Sade at the start but as the season progressed, I liked her more and more every episode. She really earned that black jacket and did a stellar job running the pass.

Only Gordon will call you a donkey with no legs when you burn the chicken and Sade will say, “Please I need unburned chicken thank you” with no breath or periods in between the phrases
I love to cook but what this show has taught me is that I could never be a chef, at least not one in a kitchen with Gordon's standards. I would be a fucking mess, total incapable to handle that level of pressure lol Sade did amazing tho. Also, why was that Jen girl giving Sade attitude? No matter if Sade also was a contestant, at the moment she was the head chef, so Jen just had to shut up and do her job. She was being very unprofessional, I think.
ususally when you start working in a kitchen you get eased in like a goldfish into an aquarium at least it was for me (i was a apprentice for reference). after a while you don't really think about it. you listen, you do, you taste and bring it up. of course it gets stressful when the dining room is full then you have to multitask. but you usually know which days the dining room is full, so a good night sleep does wonders.
@@sava3786 Stress and multitasking are my weaknesses lol So I know I would struggle to get used to it or get capable enough in such environment. But I guess that people who really wants to get into the chef career, they will push themselves as hard as they need to get there.

A) most of them are head chefs back home so they are used to being in charge. B) they look at the other contestants as competition 24/7 rather than teammates, and in this case the leader. So their ego takes over and they're like "Who is this bitch talking to me like this. She isn't better than me."
When in reality it's best to just answer and do your job. Do it for the team.
It's amazing, almost nobody would backtalk Gordon like that but as soon as the head switches up they're all reduced to petty backtalk.

She clearly didnt belong in that environment im not a full on professional but ive worked in a few kitchens if someone's asking for a time on a dish answer check and answer you dont just be mute its infuriating to have to hear someone calling your name so much and its far more infuriating to have to call a cooks name so much waiting on something

I've worked with my head red of just anger, and still have the respect for my work and coworkers, (even the ones I don't like). WORK IS WORK. Sade did what is meant to be done in kitchen to run it. If you don't like it, then, right there is the door.
@@Dakarn If you've ever worked in busy restaurants, oil burn is completely normal. It's part of the learning progress.
Sade will be successful in life. She showed leadership, diligence and she was switched on.

When the running the pass challenge comes around, you can always spot who isn't gonna make the cut because they'll start saying, "Oh my goooooooddddd shut uuuuuuuuuup"
Jennifer was the real 'sabotage' here. First she calls out that the chicken is still raw, yet she still manages to take burnt chicken to the serving table
Everyone looked shocked when she called out Marino, but she's definitely getting food out and she's doing the job well, so there shouldn't be a problem.
I'm pretty sure they were only shocked because they normally can only hear Gordon yelling. Anyone else raising their voice is worth a turned head or surprised expression.
She didn't yell, she flippin' bellowed! Gordon yells, I'm surprised his vocal cords aren't going bad. Sade bellowed, that had power behind it!
I wonder what they’d do in more high class restaurants tho where they shouldn’t be shouting where the customers are dining. Once the waiter goes out of kitchen, there’s no fixing it?

The cheif would find the waiter or tell the table themselves, but unless they are packed usually you can catch a waiter before they go back out to the dinning area

I love how after Sade yells for Marino Gordon just says, “Wow.”
You know what I liked about Sade's performance? Unlike others running the pass she didn't second guess. Remember all the times, when they are sabotaged by sous chefs and they freeze for couple of seconds thinking that there can be no mistake from experienced chefs, while Sade was ready to send clams back before they even reached the pass. That's called confidence
She was ready for the sabotage.
Sade in that leadership at age 25 is incredible. I couldn’t even confidently talk to my peers when I was at age hahah
Literally the definition of a professional she did amazing in a very stressful situation, also why was everyone mad at her for doing the job that was given to her, how do any of them expect to work in a high end professional business if they can’t communicate and do their jobs correctly smh
It’s because of the respect hierarchy. Alpha vs beta kinda deal. Gordon is a well respected and skilled chef, whereas Sade is on pretty much the same level as the rest so they don’t respect her as much
