    I noticed snap traps made today don't compare to the old ones. Notice the quality and thickness of those springs and kill bar. Even the Victor traps made nowadays are made more cheaply, and don't effectively kill rats all the time; especially the big ones. I can't count how many times I found large rats that managed to run off several meters away with the traps still attached to their heads. On a few occasions, the rats were able to escape and either run up to the attic & die, or they were just too tough. Imagine that?

    @Wheelinhunter1776 Před 7 lety

    love your videos Shawn, I have another idea for you that might be good. you could make videos showing how to modify these different traps to be more effective say in a survival or bushcraft situation. for example u could put box cutter blades on the outer edges of the white snap trap in your last video so that if something like a rat or a squirrel or even a raccoon or skunk gets into the trap that's only strong enough to kill a mouse, while the neck won't be broken you'll still be able to make a kill and get food because it'll cut the throat if not completely decapitate the squirrel. because as you know in a survival situation you can't afford to have an animal spring a trap and get away. what do u think?
